Mi ricorda una barzelletta. Un signore entra in un bar e chiede un caffè poi dice alla barista di mettere il caffè in un piatto invece che nella tazzina, poi togli il caffè e metti un po' di pasta. Poi aggiungi un po' di guanciale e un uovo.

@@Alexbouvet1 The only problem here is the title, there is nothing about Italy in this pasta (and pretty much everywhere an "italian" product is being sold) . If you knew Italian you would understand that pretty much no one here is mad or not respectful because he doesn't know how to do the carbonara (indeed, lots of italians are saying they are grateful this dude is feeding poor children and are supporting him).
You just need to know that if you show or sell a product outside of Italy as "italian", "classic italian" or other bullshits to sell more, it better be done as italian cuisine wants or it will simply not be italian; just sell them as your own food, you will make less money and no italian will be mad (for example the biggest "Italian food" meme is probably Olive Garden).
No one in Italy sells foreigners products telling they are the originals. We would just love to see less non-italian food marked as italian.

Actually there is no a original Carbonara recipe. In some old Italian cook recipes book you can find different versions of carbonara... with different cheese and other ingredients (some has bacon, others have milk cream etc.) therefore I don't understand why Italians get so crazy for some carbonara variations. PS: I'm italian and I love carbonara. Respect for Grandpa

I don't think comments about the authenticity (or lack thereof) of the carbonara here have any relevance. Grandpa is doing such a wonderful thing for those kids and that's all that matters. I think carbonara in this context was more just referring to a 'white' pasta sauce which it is widely accepted to mean around the world. Did anyone see how happy the kids were? it was probably the first time many of them ever had pasta. I get it's not the "roman" authentic version with guanciale/pecorino/eggs but who cares? The youtube carbonara terminology police can take a chill pill.

We all know that this is not the correct recipe. But this great human grandad, cooks delicious food for the beautiful children, also the poor homeless people as well. It may not be authentic, but i bet it tastes absolutely super.

Faremo una petizione all' ONU, affinche' quei signori, cuochi da foresta scrivano, che la loro pasta non era una carbonara purista, come quella di Cracco, o di Barbieri, ma una quasi carbonara modificata, con i piselli, e peperoni.
