New doctor is on the right track. ADHD meds can cause issues with your heart, so checking that and controlling blood pressure is important. Also, lots of us can’t take the ADHD meds at all because of the heart related side effects.

Good luck with the editor meeting! That's exciting! I've worked with a lot of self published authors for reviews and promotion and I definitely think it's the way to go these days.

I wish you the best with your book no matter if it gets published by an editor or by an editorial. I worked with an illustrator first and then with an editor and it was a great experience. I hope you can enjoy the process. That book is much needed. 😊😊.

Hi Amanda. That all sounds very stressful. I wish you all the strength you need. Just be honest and open on how this whole mess makes you feel to the new doctor. You can never be wrong if you just say how you feel. Also dont forget to mourn the loss of your doctor. Maybe make her a going away present? This will help you, even if you never get to give it. And you are so darn creative. Hang in there, bye

Blood pressure... Mine is usually so perfect, I have had doctors tell me they were jealous. But, when I am in the middle of a meltdown, my BP was once recorded at 190 over 140, which I was told is life-threatening, the same day, within a few hours of finding comfort after the meltdown, my BP was back to near perfect levels.

Someone said to me, and I agree, "Keep looking for a good doctor that feels right to you!" I had lost my good doctor when he passed away in 2021. I am still looking for a good doctor now in 2024. They need to be aware of autism or accepting of differences in general, unlike some who threatened to call the cops if I didnt "calm down"... tell a bi polar to calm down is like telling a legless person to get up and walk. Ignorance in doctors is so devastating to my life. I absolutely need better!
My doctor who passed away, also didnt know much about autism but he genuinely cared about me (actual concern that was a priority over money) and he wanted me to feel better physically. He found me a medicine for my all-over-body pain in Gabapentin, and I could tell he really did genuinely care about my health and wellbeing (unlike those who pretend to care). I miss him so much. I'm struggling to find a doctor as good as him.
ABA is a big red flag to me. If they are pro ABA, I will not go.
I'm a month late to watching your video (I'm trying to catch up to current). I hope you had good luck.

Get that "change-grieve-anxiety". I never found a good doctor again after "my" moved for the second time (first time her rented rooms were sold and the person wanted to use it herself, second she then changend into a big shared practise she didn't liked to work at) and that third location was so horrible I can't go there any more, the waiting room situation felt very "squezed in", I was sitting on a chair next to one of the others docs rooms and was able to hear everything they were talking inside!!! And it is very far away in a not nice loud area.
But I LIKED her personally so much!
I tried one other and it was so horrible I didn't went to another for years now, even with pain.
And I think there is no clear "wrong or right" in many medical decisions, which can be frustrating, so it is just a decision (worked also in medical field some time).

I'm watching this late, been dealing with some things. I totally understand the issues with switching doctors, as I had a similar situation happen to me about 10 years ago. I'm also on blood pressure meds, and to my surprise, it helped my migraines too. I am a migraine sufferer due to a years old head injury. BP meds have drastically reduced how many migraines I have. So I can see how taking these meds can help establish a baseline.

I’m sorry to hear that the change of doctors is so hard on you. I do like a lot of what you said about your new doctor and her new approach, but I am also a little concerned about her insistence on the BP meds first thing, for a few reasons. For one, you were feeling VERY anxious when you were there because it was a totally new and unfamiliar experience for you, which would naturally spike your BP. Also, I would think it’s best to wait and see what the lab work results show, and and make a more informed decision based on more information than just a single BP test. Plus, you can always take another BP test the next time you go back, when you’ll hopefully be feeling more regulated and calm, and your BP will probably look a lot better then. But if there are any other tests they haven’t done yet that could confirm whether or not there’s real cause for concern, that would also be a good idea to try before just reflexively prescribing BP meds for you. And finally, if there is a real issue, be sure to ask her about other alternative and non-medication treatment options. As the patient, it is always your decision to choose which treatment options are the best for you, and it is your doctor’s obligation to provide you all the information you need in order to make an informed decision about your health and treatment. In any event, I really hope that things work out with your new doctor, and she ends up finding just the right combination of treatments for you! 🤞

There is a shortage of doctors so they said if nurses come back to school they can be similar to doctors. This is allowed in about half of the states in the USA.

A remote receptionist at a doctor's office doesn't sound like a good idea. I've been sent back out to the waiting room after vaccine boosters and told to wait 15 minutes incase of reaction. What happens if there's no one in the waiting room?

Yeah, that's so bizarre! For one thing, depending on your insurance, you can't just go anywhere to get these types of things done. Different insurances are covered at different places. From my experience, the dr's office has to refer you, then it goes through the insurance, and the insurance tells you where to go. Then, you make the appointment and go. So weird that they told you to just "go"!

Kind of an oxymoron, isn't it? A receptionist is supposed to "receive" the customer/client. If they aren't even physically present, how do they receive you into the office?
Just another example of how they're trying to de-personalize society, They want everything to be done through technology (apps, computers, etc). We no longer interact with humans in most of our daily activities and transactions.
