Absolutely spot on correct. As soon as the going gets tough graphics wise on final approach, the first thing to drop off is the avionics aka "black screens". This is non- negotiable as far as I'm concerned since I'm an IFR airliner sim pilot. I've been bailing water on a sinking ship on XBox for long enough now and like you, I've made the decision to move on. MSFS has a target audience on XBox and I've personally outgrown that demographic. The XBox still has a place, but for NHL and FIFA.
Your statements in the video are absolutely correct. There is a setting on PC where you can change the avionics to become a nearly static image, it can help a lot with stutters if somebody has a lower end PC, which the Xbox basically is, specs-wise.
Also, just wanted to say, there really isn't another MSFS UA-camr who talks directly to their audience like this and shows that they really care about value and integrity. Your honesty is greatly appreciated, genuinely!

@@FastTimesVero No problem! And sure, it's called "Glass Cockpit Refresh Rate" You have Low, Medium and High settings. On the Low setting, it reduces the refresh rate of the avionics to act much slower than the refresh rate of the game itself. So now instead of trying to constantly keep up with the game as a separate system to the game itself, which can cause stutters on lower end PCs, it refreshes much slower, with much longer intervals. It takes load off of your RAM, as well as the single thread cores in the processor.
So the avionics don't "Shut down" But they run at a much slower rate to where they are almost static, which reduces the performance load they cause, since in MSFS they basically run as their own independent system within the game system. With that said, if your PC is absolutely stacked with RAM? You probably won't even get any avionics stutters. RAM is pretty cheap nowadays too. I'm not sure if I explained that too well or not, sorry if I didn't.

See his comment.Shut down Xbox series x and unplugged then rebooted.Oh my god it went to game so much faster now.All my screens work in Mil is 310.Seems to run smoother.Landed at DFW no problem.Give his method a try.Kind of like when your cable goes out and you unplug and plug back in your router.Clears everything.

I had the same problems as before with SU15, CTD's and blank avionics. Was very frustrating but tried this. What ever you do, change settings, loading new stuff or deleting stuff always quit game and close console AND disconnect power for 2 mins. I know it's a chore but also flying for hours and getting a CTD is awful. Restart and all should be ok. This is for xbox s. UPDATE - Ensure you delete rolling cache and disable it.

It is exactly that. For some odd reason, the systems in the simulator seems to forget to clean the RAM to allow the new stuff to come in. And keeping a cache does not work because any disturbance in the connection generates a bug that makes the simulator do not recognize the offline package installed even when it is installed, forcing you to quit. If wasn't for that, rolling cache could be a solution.
Great idea!!! You see, Xbox X user here, I don't really use the auto pilot or MCDU systems much for now (hopefully more in the future though) and would rather have a greater LoD and circle of rendering. Once I learn how to properly configure a flight path (thus relying more on IFR instead of VFR), my brain will probably be soooo focused on the instruments inside the cockpit that I won't be so bothered about my external surroundings. Great idea to have a simple switch in the General Option panel saying "VFR Style Piloting - or - IFR Style Piloting". Again, great idea! Send my comments to Asobo, because right now a night flight over Paris is a nightmare: the map looks like a disco club tiled floor frenetically pulsing and that wasn't the case before Update 15. On the other hand, it is true that this update (in my case) has solved the regular crash to Xbox menu. Asobo did a great job, but I wish I had the option of getting the awesome visuals back. This, or a refreshed Xbox X with better specs! PC wise, good luck without a strong video card.

I've wish they could add a glass avionics "reset" option. I am still experimenting. A long standing bug in old versions of this sim required your initial flight being a steam gauge aircraft, like a DC3, then loading an aircraft with glass gauges.
Once I get a glass gauge aircraft working, I can fly usually a five or six hour flight. They also almost always work when a flight begins from a secondary airport.
I find my ground OK--no popping, but it depends where the flight starts.
There are still many flights that work fine--the city pairs I choose or a steam gauge aircraft like the F86 which flies sooooo sweetly, I still find tons of things to enjoy.
I also enjoy "Planet Coaster" now since I got my storage expansion card. My six decade old body can no longer handle real theme parks lol, but Planet Coaster is amazing, and like MSFS 2020, third party theme parks can be added (almost all free if you subscribe to the creator's page) and you can slew to a ride of your liking and ride it all day long.
I find myself even feeling weightless, it is that immersive. I think love of coasters go hand in hand with we dweebs who love military jets, not that I am suggesting u resemble me in that remark Vero knowing most folks think I am too old to fight, lol.
As always, I feel you are a pro "ranter" if you are called that because your third-party recommendations and Xbox user suggestions are always right on the mark.

😅Right FTV, let's get this thing working on Xbox. We dont need to spend more money on this thing. If my workaround doesnt continue to work, I'm off too and wont be back on the sim in any shape or form. Check my suggestion in my previous post. Little things I can add are make sure the online settings are set to Automatic (we dont need any further lag). Once your sim seems stable you can enable rolling cache and add a couple of GB. But as soon as you get a CTD or blank avionics, delete and disable again. It seems that it's not just supposed to load in scenery quicker it remembers your planes previous state. I came to this conclusion because with rolling cache on certain light switches on the plane would be on/off but then deleting the cache they load up 'Vanilla". The sim on Xbox S has been like a girl playing hard to get for me (frustrating and time-wasting). On Xbox S its virtually the only game you can have installed. I tried MLB the Show and after it downloaded both games took up 98% of internal space! Let me know how you all get on.
One of the patch notes referred to model matching for ai traffic, but i can’t see it when stationary at an airport.
Update 15 is a huge improvement for PC users including myself 😀 I don't have Xbox but I believe that there might be some issues there.

Since you're going to pc, invest i to a vr headset. Also, get a flight stick and pedal. That be next level of immersion. I fly, Vr. It's awesome.

On my PC, I'm constantly getting bandwidth and no connection warnings.....No idea whats up with it.
An i9 - RTX 4080 PC can range in price from $2,500 to $4,000. I have an i9-12900k and a 4080 super with 32 g of RAM. I also run butter at 4K Ultra.

Good point with how you fly low and always in chase cam so the game is likely demanding alot more from the GPU at any given time. With that kind of flight style and how you make you're videos it is probably best to get a PC so all those 3rd party add-ons you bought work correctly from said camera angles.

Brother… I have series X. At the most 20gb worth of content. Not too many airports and planes and im having shit ton of stutters.. with the Dash 7 and now the F5. Two total different planes. Weather had to deal a lot on my end but who can edit live weather?.. like Im giving up at this point. All fairly low settings wise and now barely have planes to fly… this is unnaceptable man, just unacceptable.

Ground lod has gone today. Hoping it’s just volumes of traffic but flying the rfal today was just dreadful. Scenery blurred & zigzagging. Would it be possible to upgrade the ram on Xbox I wonder. Be good if Microsoft offered an upgrade to existing hardware

I feel like, even though Asobo and Microsoft have screwed the Sim up and we're all done with it and them as well now, you still wanna kind of see it just... Work well. You want MSFS to be at its peak, and that's the sad thing. If only it just worked well. Well enough to where loading times would be the biggest issue out of everything...
Just bear in mind, some areas of the sim (looking at you, NYC!) still struggle on PC if you've heavy FSLTL/FST traffic and lots of add-ons in a concentrated area. I've got practically the highest spec available (CPU/GPU-wise), with 48gb of fast RAM, and I can still drop to 25-30fps in these areas. However EVERY other issue I encountered on Xbox is gone. Got my PC sim-ready very early March, and I've had only three CTDs so far - all of which have happened either from the menu screen, or while loading a flight. Not a single one while in flight.
If you go all AMD, rather than Intel/Nvidia, you can get a top-spec custom machine for around $4,500. Just make sure you have a 4K monitor worthy of it all!

@@FastTimesVero, no, not a single one so far, and I do 8-10 hours' flying some days.
The only thing that occasionally happens (twice for me now) is the WASM module fails to load correctly, which leads to no systems at all (including avionics). But this doesn't really affect the sim since it doesn't happen suddenly during flight - you just reload the sim and all's good.

Without avionics this game is useless for me. Might Ass well just give me my money back. I dont want to use half of something, for what i pay the full price for. The avionics are what makes these Planes expensive.

I agree with what your saying but I have to ay that on xbox I think that the games performance is better with less addons installed and with only three addons installed onto my MSFS (f35 f14 and gb texture pack) i find that the game runs smoothly and the black screens don't happen. thanks for the transparency around this.

I think you can get a high end PC for under $8K.
I recommend you keep using your same 4K TV you use for your XBOX so you won't have to drop up to $1000 on a nice 4K monitor.
Your PC specs should be as follows:
CPU - I9 13900 / $500
GPU - RTX 4090 / $2000 Max
SSD - Samsung 2 TB / $200
PSU - At least 1000 Watts / $200
RAM - 64 GB / $200
Motherboard - $300
Those are my specs for my build. I still have occasional studders (very rare) but no black screens ever. I been playing with those specs for over a year, and I can only remember 2 times when I had a CTD. But it was caused by a problem with a freeware mod I downloaded.
Otherwise, no problems to speak of at all.

64BG Ram is a bottle neck with RTX 4090 dude. 128gb of Ram minimum.64gb Ram dont cut it no more. MSFS2024 may need higher specs for Ultra 4K.
@@suleimanthemagnificentsultan RAM does not bottleneck graphics cards in any way whatsoever. 32GB is plenty for MSFS. 64GB and up I would only recommend if you play DCS. There is also no need for an RTX 4090 unless you feel like spending $1600-$2000 or want the best possible VR experience. X3D processor and a 4070 Ti Super will max the game at 4K no problemo. If money is no issue then great. I’ve been hand building systems for myself and others going on 12 years now and the amount of bad advice out there is ridiculous.
The Content Manager on Xbox is broken after this last update. All the stuff I've deleted in the past has been re-installed. When chosen in the content manager there is no longer a way to delete all these world updates. I don't want France, Spain, Germany, England, etc but there is no longer a DELETE button. Any Xbox people that might have an idea how to delete this stuff, please help. Thanks

I've paid so much money on add-ons and can't use half of them!
Can't fly the F15, can't fly the typhoon, can't fly the F16, can't fly the spitfire, can't fly the m346 and can't fly the Texan T6 II.
I can only fly the V22, the F35 and the hawk.
The ground textures have gone from good to shit. I'm getting a pc asap.

I’m finding with the new update that I am able to get in and out of Miami / Hartsfield without a bunch of slow motion frame rate issue it’s better like you said I’m the kind of guy that likes to take off fly above the clouds for 1000 miles, I’m a long-distance flyer. I also noticed on the AI function. There is a new real effects plus and it also says if you download that you get it, I’ve got real effect That I downloaded for different aircraft but it’s stuff that you’ve had to pay for 🤔 who knows

The update is plus for me I can fly pretty much anywhere the only issues I have with the Sim is my home chicago the building are Grey plus the water is all fucked up even with the water fix add on and that pisses me off to the point I don't want to fly home no more they need to get Chicago right

IMHO, sim update 15 is the worst one I've experienced on Xbox (series X). I'm definitely looking into going to PC also now. I'm experiencing just about the same number of stuttering, except now the terrain is very blurry! I love flying VFR, but now it's practically impossible due to lousy graphics. Before SU15, I could fly over my high school and read my school's nickname on the football field, and after SU15, its completely blurred out. The only good thing I've noticed is aircraft nameplates now show correct aircraft types instead of "GEN". However, now the built-in ATC is calling B737, E175, etc as "heavy". What a complete joke! Uggh

@FastTimesVero Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I order a gaming pc, now my Xbox terrain looks great again. Its like Asobo flipped a switch on their server to set everything back to the previous update settings. Hmmmm. Oh well, I'm sure my flying experiences will be so much better with a pc.

We don't know what specs that will require so don't rush $5000 on a PC which you may need to upgrade later. Push it on XBOX until that comes. Don't listen to these guys as they Hype the PC up.

1000$ will get u a pre build from bestbuy nvidia 3070ti I7 2700 I would say go for as much storage as u can if u like addons but it also has a warranty runs this sim just fine that's the minimum I would spend
