I do dish gardening and they are planted in containers without holes and they do great!! Use your rocks in the bottom and only water when needed!! If you get to much water just lay paper towels around top to soak it up. Ivy is a great dish plant! Love the dish you used, that looks pretty!!! You can plant more plants in the same dish if their needs are the same!!
I believe that was a little swan,, they are more graceful than the ducks. I'm like you I love your plant in the new pot. Everything you touch turns out so beautiful. Tell the family hello for me. Glad to see you up and at it again. Isn't God GREAT? God bless you and family.
🤣😂🤣😂 When I first started viewing your channel it drove me crazy that you picked up and touched everything whether you purchased it or not. Funny, now I love your channel and I love the way you thrift. I think because it was the first thrifting channel that I ever watched, I really didn’t know what to expect!
I also use ceramic pots without drilling a hole in them and use rocks in the bottom, they grow just nicely. I wouldn’t have purchased the last item not because I don’t like it but because I don’t have space , it’s very nice😄👍
Hi! I have two beautiful tureens that I have plants in. I placed several pebbles at the bottom and then added my plants, They are so beautiful too. I love your warm and inviting home! I love to go thrifting at least 3 times a week. you never know what treasures are waiting for you.
Should have hid the chip with main stock of the ivy. My mom had a seahorse planter no holes in her bathroom, I just loved, the ivy was just planted directly into, years later still growing and thriving!
I know some people will be horrified, however, I would take the soup tureen cover and break it into small pieces. Then use the broken pottery shards in the bottom for drainage. I do this all the time with old ceramic canisters that are chippy and used for plant pots. Instead of planting directly in the brass, put the plant in another pot that can't be seen and put the entire thing in the brass pot. Spanish moss can also be used to hide the rim of the interior pot. Hope that helps!
I used a brass planter but I put in a plastic liner.I love thrifting shelves. Shelves are expensive if not thrifted. I chalk pant and distress my shelves to fit my decor. I love the idea of using a soup t for a planter. Very clever. I definitely will steal that idea.
I love the idea of the different pots for planting flowers or just plants. I do sometimes use a plastic pot to actually plant in, then put it in the glass, copper etc.
I just love how you see something and know exactly where to put it in your home. I do not have that ability. Your home is so beautiful. Thanks for your videos.
Hello beautiful lady! I just love watching your hauls. Thanks to you I saved THOUSANDS of dollars furnishing a home (I havent got yet) I lost everything in the December 10th tornadoes it was truly devastating, but with love, hope, determination and of course God I'm rebuilding. You've shown us all how to take beautiful used items and make them more beautiful and I am so grateful I found your channel when I did, not only for the lessons, but the friendships as well. I believe the Lord let me find your channel in the knick of time. Lots of love, prayers and well wishes to you and your precious family! 💕
Bless your heart ❤️ That’s incredibly sweet and means the world to me. Thank you so much sweet friend! Prayers for your family as y’all rebuild your home.
So sorry you lost your home in tornado. I wish you all the best in the future. Julie does have a good channel. I love her and her family. She buys for herself and her family and sometimes they all shop with her. Take care.
@@trudymcewen9801 Thank you. I agree Miss Julie and her family are so precious. I really appreciate this channel and the people who follow it as well. Blessings to you and yours as well💕
I love the frame on the George Washington picture. It reminds me of the frame holding my mother's wedding portrait. It was the early 50s. Everything looks really cute.
Julie, I like to hear you talk while you're shopping. Your Texas drawl is so pleasant. You've inspired me to finish a couple of decor projects! Have a blessed weekend.
Love the tureen. The plant looks better in it than in the copper pot. I would have purchased the spice rack for sure. I would have put it im my kitchen window and put beginner plant cutting in each of the bottles. I love to cut pieces off some of my plants and start new plants. Love your channel so much.
Great idea. Could you also go a little nuts and put green onions or herbs in the bottles? They are tall enough for the green onions to stand up making them easier to snip as you need them.
Love your finds! Regarding the plants, I always put them in a plastic pot. And then set the pot in the planter. I don’t plant directly in the pot. Thanks for sharing your haul!
Elisa, I think plants in non-drainage will do OK with proper prep, like Julie does. I find that lighting is usually the key to success. I've had the perfect pot, drainage, proper watering, etc, but w/o sufficient daylight, my plants invariably withered.
As a reseller, I have that "what did I buy that for" pile. Lol I'm a little more careful when buying for my home. I don't have the big house anymore and most of my decor is either coastal or shabby chic in pale yellow, aqua, violet, pink and white in the master bedroom. Florida living had me making a change. The area above my kitchen cabinets is mostly thrifted pitchers and tea pots in pale colors.
Can’t find that video again, but tell JOSH that Kelsey did good on that picture she got of multiple buildings!! That is a print of all the courthouses in Texas!! Please let me know ya’ll got this info, thanks!!
Your home is so beautiful. Yes I do pick things up and put them back while thrifting. Even shopping in regular stores. I try to make sure what I purchase is something really necessary and a use for it. I call it “window shopping”. I can’t grow plants at all. My mom had the green thumb. The plant looks very beautiful in the white Turin. Have a blessed weekend.
Enjoyed the video and I love the plant in the white turin. Also I did like the little wooden shelf .Both things look very nice in your bedroom and I like the paint colour of the red basket. 👍❤️🙏🇨🇦🥰
I was just watching a video on remaking old dishes into useful things. It made me think of this video. It showed how to use soup bowl lids as organizers. They somehow applied to different style lids to a board. The top lid had a loop handle and they had scissors stuck in the loop. The opening for where the spoon handle goes they had a piece of greenery stuck in it and the bottom one had a knob handle and they had a pot holder hanging on it and the opening they had a couple of pens/pencils stuck in it. I thought about the lid you said you would stick in the cabinet and thought how cute it would be to put it on an old chopping board. Have a blessed week!
I love the look of the plant in the bowl. And the beautiful green shows up better too. As for drainage, I think you may be fine with some pebbles at the bottom. I think the important thing is, not to over water the plants. And l do the the same thing when l am thrifting too. My niece is funny to watch when l take her. She not only picks things up to look at, but she sniffs everything! Books and glassware, all of it. She has done that since she was a little girl, but l am still amused by it.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful video today. I saw several things I would have purchased. The birdcage for sure and possibly the two large vases. No not the spice rack, no place and I don’t use that many different spices.
Again, another calming video.....I just love the soup tureen/planter, how beautiful! Love the little shelf, rarely do I see one without the heart cutouts, it's so charming. I know I have said it before, you have such a cozy beautiful home. Such talent! ❤️
Hi Julie! Yes I do go on browsing only trips. Our town has a pretty small Goodwill store with one way (seems like) aisles. I'm not being paranoid but I do feel like I'm being watched by the shopper behind me. If I pick up something, put it back and then change my mind, sorry it's GONE! Lol! It looks like your plant has more room to grow in that soup tureen. I think it's a beautiful addition to your bedroom. I love the way you styled everything. Btw, I'd grab those kitty figurines and that box with the angel painting on it (whether I needed it or not). See ya on the next video 😁!
You left the dome? and the spice rack? Use a pot liner and dab a little clear nail polish on the chip in the soup tureen. Prevents water from wicking into the ceramic and discoloring.
Great thrifting. That Goodwill didn't have prices. When I use brass planters, I put a little gravel & just sit the plant that it's in inside the brass one.
Yes...I would have purchased the spice rack with glass bottles. I like those bottles tor over the counter meds. I have three of them on my bathroom vanity!
Julie, I have said before how I love you videos and so do my family!! Everything you purchased is perfect for your cozy home. I wish you had took the little clock home. Have a great weekend. GOD bless you and your family ❤️
Great finds! I love the pot/tureen you put your Pothos in. It looks beautiful. From what I know as a somewhat crazy "plant lady", planting directly in a brass pot (or copper, etc) may not be a great idea due to toxicity, especially with potential corrosion of the pot. Planting it in a plastic, ceramic, etc. planter first, then placing the planter inside the brass pot, is a better idea. I bet you see your pothos take off now that it's in a non-brass planter. Don't let that stop you from buying a great brass/metal planter, though (I sure don't)...... just use it to place an already planted plant in. The brass planter you used to have the pothos in is beautiful. Have a great weekend and thanks for another fun video! 😀
Julie, you could easily add another house plant in that tureen pot. Something a different shade of green, that is low growing and will hang over the side...like ivy. Looks like the plant you have already may grow taller. Just a thought
Hello Julie, i am so the same way, i go in many thrift stores throughout the day,. Sometime I come home with nothing as I don't like buying something to buy. Oh I too put things in my cart until I make up my mind whether or not I want it.lol

I love plants but don’t have a green thumb. All mine are from hearth & hand ☺️I take care of them like they were real🙃thank you for taking us with you👍♥️
Julie I always get excited when you go thrifting. I watched a lady picked up a large metal bird I wanted SO bad, when she barely let it hit the counted I grabbed it and put in my cart? Also I felt you with me in spirit yesterday I found this beautiful bowl at my GW for 7.99 very similar to the one you got at the estate sale. GW had just put it out on the shelf. I lucked out and got as soon as things were put out. Happy thrifting. Carolyn 🤪🥰❤️

Thanks For taking us to Goodwill with you. I always want to go shopping after watching you style your purchases. The plant looks so good in the white bowl, it makes it pop & as always you styled the shelf so sweet. Love your channels
That little coffee mug with the cabin was SOOOO cute!! And that small clock that rode around with you was so adorable! Our a good wills are doing the goodie bag thing, too.😊
New subscriber here! I’m loving the channel. When I first heard you speak I thought “She sounds like me!” I’m in central Alabama. I’ve loved antique stores for years but we never had any good thrift shops near me. Now there are some including Goodwill that are within an hour of my house and I’m loving them! You and I have similar styles so I’m really enjoying how you put things together. Keep up the good work!
I love the way you shop as though we are with you. If I had a use for that shelf with the bottles, I would have bought it otherwise I would have left it behind. I also loved how you styled your finds. Brass planters can cause the roots of the plant to either get cold or too hot depending on the weather. I would keep the plant in its plastic pot before putting it in a brass planter. Your plant looked instantly happier in its soup tureen and it will be fine in there.
Loved your video and the white with the green ivy really looks good. You may could put the plant in something else with drainage hole then in the planter so you can take out and water and let it drain then put in your bigger pots. Unless you drill hole in the soup turaine. Mine got too wet for the roots if no holes. Hope that helps.
I decorate much like you do. I have a mixture of decor. So glad you don’t do the all white decor. It’s pretty and I watch some channels like that but it’s not totally for me. I loved the soup tureen as a planter. I’ll have to be on the lookout for one. The little basket looks great painted green. Enjoy your channel.
my heart just broke when you picked up that spice rack and didn’t buy it. I’ve been looking for one forever! That one was perfect for me. Too bad you couldn’t buy it and send it to me. Lol House plants, like outdoor plants, have a growing season. In my area they start growing better the end of February through October. In the winter they “kind of” go dormant. So they don’t grow as well. I’ve grown plants in everything. the most important thing, especially in those dormant months, is not to “over water”. That seems to kill them faster than anything. If you’re planting things in a pot without drainage you’re more than likely going to overwater. So I give my plants a nice watering and then I forget about them for a month when I go back the top soil might look dry as a bone but usually there is moisture deeper down so as long as they look like they’re thriving (not wilted) then they’re probably all right. I guess the thing to remember is in a non-drainage pot, water less. I have grown things and brass pots but I usually line the pot because I don’t want the brass to tarnish.
I would have picked up the spice rack, I loved the bottles. But it’s ok, you’ll find something even better next time. I have lots of plants in items with no drainage and they do great. Do what you love
I do dish gardening and they are planted in containers without holes and they do great!! Use your rocks in the bottom and only water when needed!! If you get to much water just lay paper towels around top to soak it up. Ivy is a great dish plant! Love the dish you used, that looks pretty!!! Thank you Georgina! I went to four thrift stores today myself. 😂
Should have hid the chip with main stock of the ivy. My mom had a seahorse planter no holes in her bathroom, I just loved, the ivy was just planted directly into, years later still growing and thriving!
Yes, I moved the chipped spot to the back after I edited this video and noticed I had it in front. And oh how nice. I hope my does good!
Yes, I love the clear jars with tops in that shelf! 🥰
I think the swan is probably a figurine, not a paperweight. I don't plant directly into brass, but put the plastic pot inside the brass planter.
Could have been. It was sure heavy though.
I know some people will be horrified, however, I would take the soup tureen cover and break it into small pieces. Then use the broken pottery shards in the bottom for drainage. If you want to hasten the fullness of your ivy, snip off a few little pieces and root them. Then you can simply add them in bare spots to fill in.
Thank you 😊

Thanks For taking us to Goodwill with you. I always want to go shopping after watching you style your purchases. The plant looks so good in the white bowl, it makes it pop & as always you styled the shelf so sweet. Love your channels
Thank you so much Margie!
I love your house decor, you're an amazing person
I wondered why you didn't get that! Perfect for your coffee bar. I would try plastic liners in brass pots. Might help. Love ya!

Thank you so much Kelley! I’m so glad you’re here!
Love the soup tureen for a planter!!!!
Thank you 😊
Love your videos I'm I've in indpls, ind you have a beautiful home so warm and inviting.
Beautiful family.
BLESS you all.
Thank you Denise! I know! I thought that too. Like it was saying thanks lol. Is that weird😂? But it just perked up right away.
Thank you 😊 it does help.
Thank you so much Karen!
Love the pothos plant in the soup tureen.. no, your plant looks to be very healthy and thriving! Love it!
Thank you Becky!
I just love your style of decorating thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much 😊
my heart just broke when you picked up that spice rack and didn’t buy it.
Thank you Judy!
I do the very same thing. I’ll put things in my buggy and then decide. Nice haul. Hugs
Thank you Cindy!
Yes, I would have purchased the spicerack. Without the lids you can use it as a vase for individual flowers. 🌷🌹
Cut the plant put it in water then transplant keep doing that and you can make the pot more fuller
Thank you 😊
Plant in its new home looks great.
Thank you for sharing your haul. I love how you styled the little shelf. Your plant looks happy in it's new pot, great tip. Thank you
Thank you so much 😊
Put the ivy in a plastic pot then set in side of the copper pot
Thank you 😊
I would have picked up the spice rack, I loved the bottles. But it’s ok, you’ll find something even better next time. I have lots of plants in items with no drainage and they do great. Do what you love
Thank you so much 😊
definitely would have purchased the spice rack.
New planter, nice! Painted basket, nice! Cute little shelf, nice! And, yes, I get in those moods too when I don’t buy the cute things I like🤷🏻♀️
Thank you Gianna!

Same to you. Thank you 😊
