This still works for the UK model (BAB8700U). Using the wahl 2191 blades - note they're also selling the blade follower on Amazon in the UK if you'd like a spare in case you want to revert back to the stock blades or mess up the cutting somehow. Thanks!
I modified my rose gold fix to the magic clip blade a few days ago. Only issue I’ve realized is the blade gets warm pretty quick compared to the original babyliss blade. You encounter that issue? It’s not a big problem personally but I’m wondering.
Ant The Barber yeah changed both the stationary and cutting blade. Again it’s not a huge problem it just gets warmer rather quickly compared to my magic clip.
Hey! So I am in the process of trying these clippers out. I can't decide whether I want to return them or keep them. Im not absolutely in love with them. BUT I think it is because they are a lot harder to fade with. Did you only replace the blades with Wahl specifically for the skin fades? If you could go back to the beginning. Would you just return them or are you happy with them after swapping the blades?
I'd return them , the battery dies out and the lever gives out . The wahl blades did allow me to skin fade bit still struggle with certain hair types removing bald guidelines .
Agreed, I'd return them as well. Started great, not even 8 months into use they're falling apart... And I really maintain my clippers. They're just cheaply made. I keep going back to my Wahl 100s

@@AntTheBarber I got real sick at my last shop and was out a week.....well I owed for my booth rent and between the time of return I had a major falling out with the shop manager and so not being able to pay what I owe...they have all my stuff ....then when I was able to go get my things state board went in for a visit and they kept my things out on my station and there were citations issued throughout the entire shop well that turned into them asking me for more cash but its messed up because they said the citations weren't issued in my name they were to the shop so I'm pretty ticked off about it all so I cant work with no tools my dude.
Hey ant awesome video pal! Tried this a while back on the Gold fx and couldn't get the moving blade to snap on properly. Just one question; i noticed with my Gold FX I'm constantly having to tighten the lever while adjusting it through out a haircut. Just wondering if you have had any lever issues with your FX's? J Alexander if the lever screw backs itself out, just remove the screw, clean it with alcohol, and apply some loctite (or similar) to the threads, then retighten the screw and let it sit a while to dry before using again. Larry The Barberman has a video showing how to do it step by step.
Hey bro do you recommend those silver fx ... heard some mixed reviews that the power button on them suck and that they die fast? Any input thinking about buying them
They are ok , they blend good with the original blade but you can't adjust them even close to a zero gap so bald guidelines can and will be a struggle . I put wahl blades on both mine . No issues with the power button or battery . Also they feel different than any clipper the shape and size are like no other sometimes I love that and sometimes hate it , mixed feelings . Would I buy them again , no . Am I happy I own 2 pair of them , sometimes .
Yes...I got both, black and white edition. They start out amazing out of the box (powerful, quiet) Six months in and the battery is almost dead on both. The worst part is that the battery is much harder to replace urself than on any Wahl or Andis. They make them this way on purpose so ur forced to send them in for service and the blades are 3 times as expensive as wahl.

You sound confused cause they are not the same or I wouldn't of broke the piece for the wahl blades to fit , that is the original bracket that needs modified .
Has nothing to do with the sound . I put a fade blade on one of them . The original blade struggles with removing bald guidelines . I use my clippers to fade so a actuall fade blade helps 👌🏼

Never had that issue sounds like you need a new flower piece , unfortunately these clippers all end up running really loud regardless of what you do to them .
@@buckwitme1 if you pay close attention thr blade is higher on the right side on all of the babylisspro fx I've owned 5 now and all them same . I just set it a little higher on the left side to make up the difference . These don't true zero gap which is why that fade blade comes in clutch .

I did the mod and I can’t zero gap it. The cutting blade doesn’t slide straight it almost makes a u shape and the corners or go over. Any advice?
Not sure why your having that issue 🤔 I'd suggest using the original blade if you can't zero gap it correctly 🙏🏽

I’d recommend using a trimmer 1st but if you don’t have one your always going to get a closer / shorter cut with a fade blade .

It changes everything , without removing those plastic pieces you cannot switch the blades out to wahl blades .

What it rattles some when closed ?
That usually means your blades are ajusted to close to each other and it's biting the guard

@@buckwitme1 if you pay close attention thr blade is higher on the right side on all of the babylisspro fx I've owned 5 now and all them same . I just set it a little higher on the left side to make up the difference . These don't true zero gap which is why that fade blade comes in clutch .

@@buckwitme1 is yours setting higher on one side ? If so balance it out when setting the blade . Also do apply pressure down on the blades when tightening the screws cause it willmott set them . What exactly is going on so I can better understand
Just did this and the clippers are super loud
