The muriatic acid is not to darken the color. When you wash the surface a bit of residue is left behind and 5he acid stain to wash the haze off. And how deep you wash depends on when you put the coke on. If you put it on sooner the concrete is soft and it soak in deeper. If you put it on when you can walk on it you will get more of a sandwash finish.
@@henryfehr6202 cool, thank you! That totally makes sense about when you apply the coke, but by washing the haze off with acid……. The color of the concrete did darken
@@useitwice thanks! It’s most commonly used for pools if the water is too alkaline. Masons use it to clean bricks. A ratio of 20-25% acid to water is typical. I probably didn’t highlight the fact that it’s pretty nasty stuff. Not good to inhale
muriatic acid has a reputation for the fumes escaping and rusting the metal in someone’s garage or shop. a little extra caution with storage and eye protection when using can never hurt.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I suspect that any kind of soda will work just as well as Coca-Cola. There’s nothing magical about Coca-Cola or Dr Pepper. They’re just sugar water.
Labs are the best! If there is any sticks or balls within the general area they are going to let u know its time to play fetch. No other breed of dog out there tht is as good as a lab, they are loveable k9's as well
you've tried this? My first 2 thought are 1) Diet Coke is gross, and 2) My understanding is that the sugar is what prevents the top from curing. I've used gator aid with similar success. Old timers would use a proprietary mix of brown sugar and water.
@@jonathanthink5830ya it’s the sugar that’s the retarder, that’s why a lot of ready mix drivers keep a 5lb bag of sugar in the truck to throw in the mixer if they get stuck somewhere with a full drum

diet coke may work better? regular coke usually leaves sticky sugar when it dries up.

Muratic acid really doesn't sound good for the soil
After it reacts with the concrete, then rinsed really well it’s fairly harmless.
that’s a really good point that the reaction neutralizes the acid.
baking soda in water rinse for the people concerned about too much acid
