Thanks for this well made video. I'm going to add to my exposed aggregate patio, filling in the 2' area between the patio and the house. Never done this, but your video has given me confidence.
I'm getting ready to do this tomorrow. I'm following your lead. Thank you very much for the knowledge. PS: I don't have any coke or Gatorade on hand. Thought I would mix up some sugar water and spray. Any thoughts? Thank you.
For a completely different use.... How effective do you think this process would be to combat algae slip if it was under water? Like a boat ramp? Thanks. I tapped the thumbs up 👍 button to feed the algorithm monsters.
What was the time span between covering the aggregate in cream to washing it off? I'm doing the sidewalk next to my garage so that will help me with how many sections I can do in one day. Thanks!
Hi Brenda, it was about 7-8 hours after I poured the cement. The weather was cool that day (60 degrees). If it was a hot summer day, I would expect to have to scrub harder to wash off the cream.
There’s another video where the guy is exposing the aggregate on walls in Asia and he’s using a wet sponge and a bucket of water to do, from memory, and it seems like it works very well.
Another concreter on UA-cam (Ninja) did a demo with coke as a concrete retarder & it came out poorly. I would probably use a commercial product. Did you use an acid cleaner before applying a sealer. Your end finish looks good.
Hello, the end finish on my side walk and patio came out pretty good. If I'm being perfectly honest, there is a slight color discoloration on my sidewalk....not sure if that is from uneven sealer or from the Coke. I'm doing another patio this summer and will try the commercial stuff
Pour it float it spray with retarder cover it with 2 mill poly flat go to bar go home go to bed come back next day wash it off only cement will wash off not rocks do not wash same day restarted is design to last 24 hrs
@@thedustybuilder ideally spray a coat on let it soak then put another coat on cover it make sure it’s tite other wise air bubbles will dry out next day u will wash only Portland off not rocks use real retarder not coke or mountain due

@@ProsperityThinkers That will work….. I’m not exactly sure on the ratio of sugar to water.

Thank you sir! I think it would work.....for awhile. I guess it depends how slimy things get, but it would be better than regular concrete for sure!
Great diy advice
Thank you!
Looks good.
yeah.....not bad for pop as a retarder and kids helping!

Cool, I will have to check it out
How long did you wait to hose it off to give it the exposed look?
@@sammystate21 it was cool outside, so about 8 hours
