Love watching this video! Love hearing the float going over the concrete and rocks! ASMR video too, right! :D Great teaching on how to do all of these processes. Thank you so much! 😊💖🙏
I used to do concrete and we used to put powdered sugar in a water sprayer and put it on fresh pour. Come back hour later and spray off with hose. Always looked good
He worked hard on that due to the heat think 90 is about 32 degrees in uk money thats some hot 🔥 stuff. Dave here the concrete dont set quick is there something you can spray on top set it quicker to be able to hose off the cream .never done this but that would be my worry getting it to set .wales isnt hot . Thanks mate and great videos 🏴🇬🇧🇺🇸👍👍
In other exposed aggregate videos you say to pour about a half-inch short to make space for the rise after putting in the seed. In this video you don't say that, and it looks they poured right up to the level before throwing seed, so did it it raise up or what?
Nice job, it might go easier on him next time if he uses a wood bull float or wood darby (36 or 48 inch) to help set the aggregate initially. When I do exposed aggregate, I use all wood tools except for edging, then a mag with no marks or lines and then do the process of just waiting it out.
How do you get started as an apprentice in this type of thing? Would LOVE to help design Rock Gardens! Thanks for ANY advice! Love and appreciate your videos. 🍃☀️🍃
Just saw your video. I see that it is about one year old, so not sure you would respond to a question. But I will try. Could this process be applied to a sloped walk-in shower floor? Thanks
generally it's not like this... usually you seed the stones, let it cure completely and then run a buffer over it to take off the hardened layer of cement, then the stones are exposed but also the entire surface is flat... the technique in the video leaves a rounded rock surface, not flat everywhere... also these WILL pop out over time due to that
Hi Odell as you know here in Iraq we work under 122 F° so its been to hot but we rather did the stamp concrete before sunset . I'd like to ask you ... Is it worth to work like these mini projects about 9 m2 and you guys 6 and your trucks and that under the heat with waiting almost 4 hrs , is it really worth ? How much the square foot or square metre cost to cover this small project???
Hello, looks great. That is interesting, united rentals will rent you the concrete mixing trailer, fill it with a yard of material. Can you specify the mix, stone, cement etc. Would you mind sharing how much the rental of the trailer and the yard of material costs. Thank you.
Here in the midwest a truck was 140 a yard. 50.00 short load fee 17.50 fuel surcharge. Was about 400.00 for 2.25 yards. 2.25 yards from another company was 440.00 And the 3rd company was 526.00 for 3 yard minimum
Wood is for roughing up cream to make mag floating easier. Magnesium floats are for making everything flatter and somewhat smooth. Steel trowel is used to "burn in or hard trowel" the concrete like what you would see in garages or basement floors. In warmer climates they trowel a lot of their work. In more freeze & thaw climates you really want to stay away from steel troweling outdoor concrete.
I know my question is probably out of your scope of expertise....... How effective would this be as a non-slip surface underwater with algae..... like a boat ramp? If you know, thanks. I still hit the thumbs up 👍 button to feed the algorithm monsters.
We stamped 10 yards Ashlar Slate today. You’re right, it was miserable outside. The heat will break you. Nice work👌
Heat kills
I never knew I cared about how the exposed aggregate look is done, but I'm glad I now know. Thanks for the video!
Love your work man. I’m just starting out my business and your tricks and tips help so much!
That’s awesome glad to hear it!
I'm about to try an exposed aggregate match like this, great video!

Thanks so much, I live in North Carolina, and building my house in El Salvador I learning a lot from your videos appreciate you sharing 👍🏼

Matched great came out nice, but ur right that mix was pretty gritty
Nasty stuff
Looks good guys, love the workman ship and matching colors!
Yeah tried to get it as close as possible
That’s amazing!…I actually thought you couldn’t bring that rock to show, but you did!… it was a race against time….nice job…..
Yes it was.

Anyone that does concrete know what a race against time means.

Glad to see Tim again !!!

Wow, that was a nice video, easy to understand and covers over the necessary details. Thanks
Only 75 in St. Louis we poured 120 yards of paving which is small so it was a nice easy day

Concrete additives for fast or slow curing
@@OdellCompleteConcrete
Ok thanks Dave appreciate it 👍
Is there any advantage to doing this over using a concrete retarder? Seems like more work. Maybe you talked about it in the video and I missed it
Nice job. Always against the clock with concrete, especially in that heat. Here in Scotland we seldom have that problem.
Ty and yeah it was a close call 😅
Looked alright in the end, I guess !
Well done.
👍
that matched pretty darn good.

I enjoyed the video, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Love your videos! BUT, my back always hurts watching you guys work!😂😂😂😂

Get hired on as a labor and work your way up
@@OdellCompleteConcrete Thank you! Know of any concrete outfits hiring for a 50-year old Woman? ☺️
How much seeding do you recommend for 1 yard ?
That was dope!

Nice work, will the pebbled floor not slippery since they are smooth & rounded
No because it's not a heavy coverage
I have old exposed agg concrete pavers/steppers. Can I resurface these to get a smooth concrete look?
Beautiful work.
Thank you! Cheers!
Great job
That's crazy they do it like that incali, I've seen it done like this b4 in the west, but we do it the other way.
Don’t always do it like this but when they are small enough we can
@@OdellCompleteConcrete that's what's up!
Noob question: What was the binder between those pavers?
Excellent video, often wondered how that finish was accomplished...

What is the cream you add over the pebbles? Is that just more concrete?
yes
Looks great
Thanks!
Do you sometimes use a retardant instead or exposing the same day? When and why do you use each method?
Good job. O'Dell
OSS
What type of aggragate rock is that?
1st again. good job

What's the pricing range difference between traditional trowel or broom finished concrete vs exposed aggregate per sq. ft?
Man that came out nice
Ty
That finish looks perfect! Well done team. Love your videos.

Yes, 1 yard maximum about 350.00. PSI ranges from 2500 to 3500
Here in the midwest a truck was 140 a yard. 50.00 short load fee 17.50 fuel surcharge. Was about 400.00 for 2.25 yards. 2.25 yards from another company was 440.00

thank you very much , do you use this system often
I would of put in a mini golf hole personally, but great work.
That sound good
Sugar water in a bug sprayer after seeding keeps the cream on top from hardening on a hot day. Same as a retarder but 1/10th the cost.
Yeah it was a struggle since we had to return that little u-cart on such a hot day with direct sunlight
Rugasol is the go these days, way more even doesn't leave patches and holds longer.
when would you use a magnesium trowel ,wood ,or steel towel in which order

Is it cheaper to order a truck vs buy bag concrete and sand and gravel? Or just easier?
faster and easier
What’s the cost of diesel in la area right now ?

Why they didn't put rebar?
To small
Isn't it bad for concrete to cure too quickly?
Yes
I appreciate ya....

Sweet video 👍
Ty!
I remember my first exposed job too lol
Me too
So Quickcrete is a no no?You want a slower drying concrete?
Quickcrete makes fast setting and regular setting products. It is just a brand name.
@vids595 Thanks for reply.Still haven't started doing my driveway yet but about to.
Looks nice but after a couple freeze thaw cycles they start to shed . Looks like you are in a more arid climate so may work better than where I live
No freezing in Southern CA. where its beach weather everyday

Thank you, too.
I think you would want a very heavy broom finish for that. Rocks like these are slick by their very nature.
Personally I like , an prefer that exposed aggregate look myself .
Nice look and strong

You are good at a lot of different concrete finishes, with that being said exposed is not one of them. Sorry

They were matching the existing concrete. Otherwise they may have done it differently.
