Qué majestuoso coro!!! Y qué bella letra "Alabado sea el Señor... que me protege desde el instante en que mi madre me llevó en su vientre". Bach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have the same cantata out there! After listening to faster versions I'm not sure what to think. I believe in the Baroque era timing was more steady and not as fast, but not super slow either. I love all versions because I love Bach! Thank you.

I love Ton Koopman. And Bach, of course. And Ton is NOT the "Bach slaughterer", as someone called him below. (Though, that is pretty clever nickname. Sounds like a name Donald Trump would call him on Twitter,,,,,,,,,,,,,presuming Trump had ever heard of JSB, which I seriously doubt.) Still, the opening chorale is a bit too fast, in my opinion. I'm sure Ton had a good reason for his tempo. I'd love to hear it.
Love the cantata, but the opening choral sounds like half of the orchestra was desperate to catch a train. I like Karl Richter and the Münchener Bach Chor's version much better.
Koopman is a legendary interpreter of Bach's music who is not afraid to put his own interpretation on the maestros music.

Simply divine. Thanks for the upload 👍🏼
Thank you for uploading this vibrant Koopman rendition. I had only ever heard Richter and Leonhardt. I appreciate this. BRIAN
the alto aria here is reminiscent of the alto aria in BWV 42.

Des Vaters liebster Sohn,
the Father's dearest son
Der sich für mich gegeben,
who gave himself for me,

who in faith bestows on me
Sich selbst, das höchste Gut.
his very self, the greatest good.

whom his son gave to me,

Zur Zeit 7 Daumen runter, ich frag mich warum.

Fast and furious bach version...
