Yes there is a man saying Shut Up Steve in the background. Steve is our sound engineer that did an amazing job on all our products. He does however like to joke during filming though. -FreeDrumLessons-
This throwback is both awesome and hilarious! Also, further proof that Jared doesn't age and is likely an alien or a robot, or an alien robot. I'm on to you... XD
They are Yamaha drums, which are really easy to tune and make sound awesome! The drum is a maple shell 18 x 22 bass drum. We also have an excellent studio engineer who knows how to mic up drums. - FreeDrumLessons
You have to look at it for what you get. For example, the Rock Drumming System has 4 DVD's, 4 books, and an audio play along CD. There is over 9.5 hours of material, along with a play-along portion, and sheet music books for every beat. The price is actually very cheap as opposed to private lessons, or other video instruction.
You have probably heard the name from some of his instructional DVDs he has made. There are quite a few of them, all similar to this website! Definitely worth checking out!
the last one is pretty simple once you have the technique right, i didnt learn it from any video one day it just came to me. dont pressure your self into learning it coz you will only feel dissapointed if you dont get it. just keep practising. dont force your heel into the pedal slide your foot along and play the two beats as one kick is the best explanation i can give atm. keep on drumming
Give the guy a break hes trying to help teach people something and he sounds solid and like he knows what hes talking about. All these negative comments are typical of most musicians who think they deserve to be in the big time and think "that guy sucks you should hear me play" get over it and just have fun playing without putting others down so you feel better about yourself!
he's a great teacher clear and concise, as soon as i make some money im going to buy the dvd set and help support them, i owe them alot. falk, atkinson, mikaelkow(sorry if i butchered it) wonderful teachers and very charismatic people.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but i have playyed electric guitar for 6 years, and i have just started drums, and since i already have a sense of rhythm from guitar and piano etc, it seems really easy to learn. :)
dude this is kind of complicated at first but just keep going just search this "slide technique" it takes awhile to get use to this technique. I'm getting great results with this technique it sounds killer
So then there is such a thing as a punk beat. Since you just defined it as "rock beats with open hats sped up." Is there such a thing as a "rock beat?" Or is that just a punk beat with closed hats slowed down? All the best man! - FreeDrumLessons
It depends. There is definately a reason for a double pedal/double bass. If you're really into playing double bass, you can really play a lot cleaner and faster with two basses rather than just a double pedal. When uing a double pedal, the rebound is such that it makes it a little harder to control - the way the beaters hit the same head in such quick succession and such causes that.
to all the aspiring drummers out there like me: dont get intimidated by wat hes playing or anybody else plays for that matter!!! all the beats hes playin i got them clean in five minutes! ALL OF THEM! and ive only been playin for lik 9 months!!! its just a matter of practice and how much u want to get better!!! just keep playing!!!!!!!
@UltraCereal Its the heel toe tecnique, you was right. Because when you play the swivel, you heel is far more above the pedal. His feet is to low to play the swivel. And i'm 110% sure. Hes just doing it really fast, takes a lot of practise. And i'm 110% sure!
Tell me what punk is then please?! I hate the fucking punk police, a bunch of kids trying to categorise and box it up. Who the fuck are you to say? When did you get the manual? Even the 'punk' look was designed fashion in the 70's. IDIOT
@sandmaster7 Try playing an eighth note beat with the double bass drum; it's much easier. Once you're comfortable with that, just hit the hi-hat half as many times. It can be tough, but getting you hands and feet coordinated is required for drumming
It's called a double hit. You do two quick hits on your bass drum. It's like on your snare, if you play TA TA real fast with both of your hands. Can be tricky at first but its easy to get. Hope I helped :).
@MetalMitchable Probably the simplest way to do what he did is to use the sliding foot method. Basically, just place your foot halfway off the drum pedal, so your toes are at the halfway point. Push down, then let your pedal bounce back up as you slide your foot up the pedal to the top, catching the pedal with your foot to push it back down, making it sound like it was double bass. If you didn't understand my explanation, just look it up on youtube.
What's up with you nimrods?Nicely Done!!My favorite beat is the 1st one you played.Less is More ala ringo starr!Simple beats FEEL best with any band.Again, well done.Don't listen to these ignorant punks bad comments. They all suck!.Listen to an old smart punk, like me!
started drum lessons about 3 weeks, beating the bass 3 times and keeping the hi-hats beating in the right tempo, it's still hard, though i'm improving.
Hey. Do you think you could make some videos which are just punk rock drum beats, with just one kind of beat for each video? That would be great, because I'm a bassist, and if my drummer can't come by, it would be really cool if i could just use a video to get the beats.
To everyone who's bashing on this dude: 1. Stop complaining. The lessons are FREE. 2. The beats are for beginners. Of course they're nothing wild or innovative. Hell, most songs ride on simple beats like this anyway. You can't expect beginners to jump into some crazy fast technical beats.
Yeah, I play with this heeltoe tehnique, it's really simple, you just swing your footboard ;) It's nice with fills and you will absolutely gonna need it when playing Iron Maiden :D
@Jeesus353 yea i had that same problem when i fist started, believe it on now the song that helped me with that was in my place by coldplay, really simple song but it will help you develop your foot independence and just practice on a metronome to.
Yea, I'm here for some free tips on drumming, I get tired of having to filter through people insulting this guy. Who cares if he's gay or straight or whatever... I know I don't. I'm just thankful that the rude remarks haven't detered him from doing this for us all. THANKS JARED!
what line of tama is it? swingstar? rockstar? classic maple? how old is it? what kind of condition is it in? does it have a bass drum pedal? what kind of cymbals? there are a LOT of factors there before you make that kind of judgement call. my guess would be MAYBE.
practice with a simple rock beat except when you hit the bass drum, give it two quick hits (32nd notes) that go in time with your playing. this gets your foot used to fast hits.
Someone actually does say it, right before he starts the beat when it cuts in at around 1:58, but it is REALLY, REALLY quiet. I didn't hear it at first, but it's there. Like, you'll have to turn speakers or headphones up really loud to hear it.
@goobinhighner Playing in "perfect" time is something you develop after years of practice along to a metronome. These videos are for beginners, and adding the metronome makes it clear where 1' is. That may be helpful to alot of people, especially when learning sheet-music.
This looks so 90's compared to the new videos
So what. Music was better in the 90s.
@@Twobarpsi Never said it was a bad thing 🙄

Just be grateful that he his using his time to do this for you guys.
Cameron Lee no dude no

hes right , i couldnt play like anything what tre cool could do, but after a while i can do it, i just can.
feels awesome.
great vid, i like how you start with something simple and expand, thts usually what i do when i play. good stuff

its so amazing to c how a simple beat gets improvised to a amazing one
Correct me if i'm wrong, but i have playyed electric guitar for 6 years, and i have just started drums, and since i already have a sense of rhythm from guitar and piano etc, it seems really easy to learn. :)
The BD and the tom sound very clean with a good tone, I like it.
those were some pretty cool rock beats. play all of those in cut time and then you have a moderately fast punk beat.
dude this is kind of complicated at first but just keep going just search this "slide technique" it takes awhile to get use to this technique. I'm getting great results with this technique it sounds killer
hey man
love the site
keep doing what youre doing man

nice kit, nice tuning!

same with me. I've been play drums for seven years very well just by listening. i could play almost any song just by listening.
6th beat sounds really great. Now I can play it too) Love the sound of quick double bass kicks.
that was really good!
The drumming is really good its quite hard but he talks like it was for beginners.
Oh so young. He's done a great job at creating an empire that Drumeo is now.
OMG! Nice drum kit.
These are really good examples of the basics in punk rock. Great practice material.
Parabéns para seu país, pois valorizam todos os estilos, aqui no brasil é diferente, se o cara toca rock, não é músico, infelizmente é assim....
i like how he says "look at sheet music now" lol
I want that snare drum so much
his drum kit sounds so nice
Watching in December 2021. You're immortal bra!
awesome video guys!

beautiful sounding kit :D
Holy shit there is a lot of hate and for a lesson. The idea is to speed up over time, and if you knew already wtf are you doing here?
0nigel01 to talk shit duh
Gabriel Beltran I guess I should have seen that coming. A bunch of whiners claiming to know what punk is, is dumb talk not shit talk.
0nigel01 nah posting any punk lesson isn't punk, next video you defend will be a metal lesson POSER
Tell me what punk is then please?! I hate the fucking punk police, a bunch of kids trying to categorise and box it up. Who the fuck are you to say? When did you get the manual? Even the 'punk' look was designed fashion in the 70's. IDIOT
0nigel01 There is no manual, that's why it's punk. You ain't no punk, you PUNK
thse beats are AWESOME!
Great video, and thats some great pedal work, but I've heard the name Jared Faulk somewhere before, are you in a band?
Beat number 4 is awesome!!!
@sandmaster7 Try playing an eighth note beat with the double bass drum; it's much easier. Once you're comfortable with that, just hit the hi-hat half as many times. It can be tough, but getting you hands and feet coordinated is required for drumming
Damn nice tone in this recording

I was wondering the same thing. He did it pretty good for just a one-footer. I can't even do it that smooth with my double pedal!
some cool beats

awsome! nice to speed up my tempo just a little bit :P cool lessons!
started drum lessons about 3 weeks, beating the bass 3 times and keeping the hi-hats beating in the right tempo, it's still hard, though i'm improving.
punk is so much fun and really easy to play! :D
Hey Jared, do you have any R&B tips?
@cokezzzftw It's definitely heel-toe. Jared doesn't use slide-tech, only heel toe.
hmm... this reminds me of my first year drumming ^_^ still always good to come back to the basics
I used to watch this in High school all the time
wat u swearin 4 there doin a good job nice 1 man i like wat u do
Hey. Do you think you could make some videos which are just punk rock drum beats, with just one kind of beat for each video? That would be great, because I'm a bassist, and if my drummer can't come by, it would be really cool if i could just use a video to get the beats.
Thanks! Maybe you could do a tutorial video of the tipical Hardcore/Trash fast beat. I don't get it very well and I really can't find it anywhere.
@MattLaffDrum
Try out the "Heel-Toe Technique" or the "Slide Bass Drum Technique".
really good.! thank you for help me, that really help me out.
@DrummingWithDale
Punk is a mentality, and this guy doesn't posess it.
omfg i finally learned all the beats except for number 3,i am so proud of myself
To everyone who's bashing on this dude:
1. Stop complaining. The lessons are FREE.

this helps quite a lot!
@GusTs51 No you can see it's just his right foot playing the kick. his left is on the Hi Hat :)
All are very easy to play.
I have a pearl export sett :]
Ive been playing for 4 years. Practice makes perfect.
@mini9503 i dont have one either, but im wishing for one for christmas, im playing them invisibly :P
Yeah, I play with this heeltoe tehnique, it's really simple, you just swing your footboard ;) It's nice with fills and you will absolutely gonna need it when playing Iron Maiden :D
cool drum beat
hahaha, i loled at the end when he siad the injured thing, sounded pretty funny
I can already play this where can I go to get more challenging beats?
yes, he also adds a hit right after the heel toe every other time
it sounds so smooth the bassdrum ..
@Jeesus353 yea i had that same problem when i fist started, believe it on now the song that helped me with that was in my place by coldplay, really simple song but it will help you develop your foot independence and just practice on a metronome to.
if you go on the website that provides the videos, all of the music is on it along with many other instructional videos
Beat 4 is my fav!
Yea, I'm here for some free tips on drumming, I get tired of having to filter through people insulting this guy. Who cares if he's gay or straight or whatever... I know I don't.
I'm just thankful that the rude remarks haven't detered him from doing this for us all. THANKS JARED!
what kind of kit is that, it has great sound ( i know its mic'ed ) maybe i should get Evans heads....
This cool simple drum beats are pretty good
This guy actually makes sense!!!
what line of tama is it? swingstar? rockstar? classic maple? how old is it? what kind of condition is it in? does it have a bass drum pedal? what kind of cymbals? there are a LOT of factors there before you make that kind of judgement call. my guess would be MAYBE.
@MetalMitchable Its like roll but but you have to use the top of your knee to continue after bounce. Hope it helped
BEAT SIX IS AMAZING
you are using double pedal for the fast bass notes?
hey i tried to find this beats but i cant find it, can you sell me the link plz cuz i am really interested in learn this kind of beats...
ok, no problem, ill have it up in probably 2-3 days. right now im in the middle of a "how to make your own drum sticks" tutorial though.
wow. this provided sheet music is amazing :P
awesome.. though the Sex Pistols and the Ramones never had access to this kind of knowledge! hehe. They just did it. good stuff man.
practice with a simple rock beat except when you hit the bass drum, give it two quick hits (32nd notes) that go in time with your playing. this gets your foot used to fast hits.
@truerocker852 i thought the same when i started playing bass, but being able to read sheets is really useful, trust me...in all kinds of genres :)
Someone actually does say it, right before he starts the beat when it cuts in at around 1:58, but it is REALLY, REALLY quiet. I didn't hear it at first, but it's there. Like, you'll have to turn speakers or headphones up really loud to hear it.
ohmygod you have the exact same voice as my friend blake but look the exact opposite that is so cool
wow.... this is great!!! :)
@goobinhighner Playing in "perfect" time is something you develop after years of practice along to a metronome. These videos are for beginners, and adding the metronome makes it clear where 1' is. That may be helpful to alot of people, especially when learning sheet-music.
he's like a bobble head figure! anyway, great lessons man!
good freakin pedalwork! :O
@MetalMitchable it's called the heel-toe techique.
great video
yes it works on all pedals...you can look it up here in youtube...if you want to know more about it xD
