After 7 months, Madonna finally ended her Celebration tour in Rio with a historic concert in front of 1.6 million people making history again, at 65.

@@OurAnxiousReactions Madonna and her crew were in Rio for almost the whole week prior to the concert. The local media (print, tv and radio) covered their news/broadcast with Madonna and this concert. Airline flights, hotels in Rio were fully booked, as tourists and locals started streaming in. Billboards and posters saturated Rio-Madonna and her concert was the biggest event in Rio at this time. Bootleg merch and food/drinks vendors were all-over the place. There was a carnival/festive vibe as fans turned up to cheer when Madonna and her dancers did sound check and rehearsals several nights before the concert. Crowds showed up outside the hotel fronting the beach venue where Madonna and her entourage stayed, cheering whenever Madonna left and returned. During the concert, the huge audience danced and sang with almost every number, repeatedly and loudly cheered Madonna’s name. Madonna and her dancers were visibly energized-they performed with extra chic and abandon-emptying their tank to the last number. It was estimated that this event brought about US$50million (about 250million in Brazilian Reais) in business revenue to Rio. There was also a report that Madonna made a discreet donation of US$2 million (about 10million in Brazilian currency) as disaster aid to the victims of a recent regional flooding in Brazil. The estimated 1.6million concert audience is the biggest ever for a solo female artist in Rio’s history to date. It was amazing and the show was spectacular as usual even by viewing it on TV/online videos.

Hello girls, since the next era of Madonna will be very short, I ask you, before closing the era of Ray of Light, to watch 2 very special specials: Madonna - MTV Ultrasound Inside 1998 where for the first time Madonna allows to enter the studio during the last finishing of the songs and there is also the behind the scenes of the video frozen.

I love how you appreciate her voice, because she is often criticized for it throughout her career. What I love about her voice is that it's not polished, raw and vulnerable, with a lot of emotion in it. You either love or hate it, but after seeing her Rio show last night, I think even more people are convinced she is still the Queen of pop. Well, its about time!

In case you missed it, Madonna wrapped up her celebration tour on the Copacabana Beach in Rio last night. She broke another record. Most attendees at a standalone concert. 1.6 million people turned out for the Queen. I think this is the show they’re recording for release. I watched several clips online, there is pure joy on Madonna‘s face during the show, I can’t wait to see it in its entirety.

This song has been stuck in my head since her concert in Detroit. I def have grown a new appreciation for it. I feel like there are a few songs she has done throughout her career where she is singing right to her fans and critics. Open Your Heart, You Must Love Me, and this one are the three I can think of, off the top of my head.

This song has always been a fan favourite. It took her 25 years to finally add it to a tour and it was worth the wait. Yes, it is not just a performance, it’s an experience. That’s why she’s become the best at what she does so quickly because we could never get bored, we never knew what she would come up with next. There is an interview she gave during this period which is my favourite one, Johnny Meets Madonna. She talks about this look and how her daughter Lourdes would call her Hatsumomo when she’d wear the kimono 😅

It’s likely she was reading passages of the book aloud while lying bedside while putting the young Lourdes to sleep. Madonna is a voracious book reader and classic cinema/film enthusiast. As a songwriter, music video producer and film actress, she often finds inspiration from literature and films. She would eventually direct/produce her own film W.E. in 2011, and also write several bestselling children’s books from 2003 through 2009.

This ROL era brought a profound change in her spirituality, wisdom and priorities in life and career that’s reflected in her music and outlook. NRM reflected her fascination with Japanese culture at this time: she adopted the geisha look/fashion; elements of a Zen garden i.e. the arched foot bridge over a pebbled surface (or Koi pond), the symbolic totem, the rocks where the other dancers are standing-symbolizing serenity, enlightenment and harmony with nature. The messaging of the song also evoked the Buddhist belief in karma and the eternal cycle of life/death/rebirth. The male dancer deftly twirling roped flame likely represented the discipline, skill and balance she needed in navigating the complex/superficial world of celebrity culture without succumbing to its many pitfalls and illusions that have befallen other artists.
Finally, to unburden herself of more selfish pursuits as the sentiment of NRM imparts, she decided to consolidate her already considerable philanthropy by establishing and funding the Ray Of Light Foundation, a non-profit charity whose primary mission was to “promote peace, equal rights (women empowerment, LGBTQ and racial minorities), various humanitarian aid (disaster relief, epidemic control and prevention, war victims /refugee assistance), global economic and educational initiatives for those impoverished in Eurasia, Africa and Latin America..”. The foundation channels and coordinates its activities and resources through other international and regional humanitarian organizations.

About this performance: I think this is one of M’s worse 🫣
All the ingrediens are stellar but I feel they all disconnect and the energy is just not there. This is very awkward for Madonna. There are plenty of examples where her voice is not on this level, but her energy would make up for that 200%.
I always hate negative comments about Madonna, as a good fan should but I would love to know….Am I the only one?😊

Hello to these Grammys, Madonna meets Ricky Martin, being his fan, she will ask him to work with him. They will make the song "Be Carful" which was originally supposed to be part of Ray of Light, but then it was scrapped and then included on Ricky's album

I'm sorry but how can you say that she sings so well? You've lost some objectivity on Madonna. She is a great performer but here her voice is so imprecise as to be amateurish. I understand the greatness of the character but being dazzled by celebrity...

There can be nothing subjective when objectively the performance of a song is bad. Madonna has had a lot in her career but the performances in which she has been poor, must also be recognized. This doesn't mean we don't continue to love her.
