Once you get over the fear of playing a Squier in front of the 1 gearhead in the crowd, you'll find the CV is pretty awesome.
I am so glad I bought this guitar. It is so much like old Tele's I used to get back in the 70's when I worked in Music Stores. Fit and finish superb.
Have a closer look.
better than us made@@stancoleshill8925
Wow, not only the guitar sounds amazing for the price, your playing is superb.
Thanks for starting with the neck. It helped me a lot.
I have this guitar. I hot rodded mine, but out-of-the box the guitar was wonderful. The one that said Fender was $3500. This one was $499. I added two Fender noiseless pups, locking tuners, brass compensated saddles, and a push-pull pot for setting the pups out-of-phase and viola! A $3500 guitar for approx. $600! However, as I said, this guitar was perfect out-of-the-box.
Any more details on particular pickups, and mods fitted please? Thanks
@@andyholmes9485 Sure. What would you like to know? The pups were Fender IV gen. noiseless pups that I got for a song because musicians friend owed me some money, I got the locking tuners on ebay for about $40, I can't remember what the pot cost, but it wasn't much, and the bridge saddles ran me approx. $25. I work with a private Luthier and he did the whole thing including some extra fret polishing for $80.
@@justiceforall6412 Thanks for the info. How much more would you say this Improved the guitar. Only ask as you said it was great already.
@@andyholmes9485 It's hard to say really. If i had to guess I would say v ery much because locking tuners always improve tuning stability and make string changes easy. The pups are Fenders best and the brass saddles do make intonation easier. But if you don't have the extra cash, you really can not go wrong buying the guitar as is. If you're interested here's the review I did on it, www.ultimate-guitar.com/reviews/electric_guitars/squier/classic_vibe_60s_stratocaster/48653/
@@andyholmes9485 Andrew, strangely enough they posted a combination of my review and someone else's. Here's the link to my review.
Sasha plays so beautifully I want to buy everything he demos! Great job as usual.🤙🏼
You sir are a great player 😮
Thank you for missing that last note. You made me feel much better
Beautiful playing!!! Loved it.
the guitar resonate beautifully with a great tone
What a sound, i have to go searching for one like this
Just bought this guitar yesterday. Can’t wait for it to get here
Such great playing! Thank you. Im very interested in this guitar and it sounds good.
Omg 😳 what’s an amazing tone warm and rich
Always wanted to own a tele, been using strato squier since 2016 selling it off so i can finally get one of this tele, you convince me enough and some of these comments too thnks guys
🔥🔥🔥🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾…Great demonstration of a beautiful guitar 💯💯💯
This is a beautiful looking Telecaster!
Great review dude, congrats!!
Fantastic playing!
I have to take mine out of the case now that i saw this vid. been playing my strat lately.
You are an excellent reviewer, and you play great.
Great playing
Fantastic tone and playing! I've had one of these since 2010 (Chinese), it's been one of my main players since I got it. It really is a fantastic guitar.
Apparently now manufactured in Indonesia. Don't know if the quality is better.
@Gavin Townsley a bit like Gibson
I bought this one years ago. I play it more than my american tele. i broke the bridge pickup doing some work. so i installed a seymour duncan little 59. its a rock and roll machine.
Dude this squier is awesome, i hope find one some day for me
Such amazing playing and such a wonderful tone. What’s that amp you played through? And did you mic a cab or use something like an IR? And finally, is this a room reverb we are hearing or did you use actual room mics? I’m asking because my ears are really loving what they’re hearing.
Sounds amazing.
Nice tone and very nice playing...
Great guitar..great playing 👍🏻
Here's an update on the same Squier model I bought a year ago. I had the pickup cavities, control cavity and pick guard shielded so there won't be any hum. I also changed the pickups to a pair of 1960s Fender Telecaster single coils. Then replaced the pots and pickups selector switch to the correct CTS Fender parts. It's "Ready to Rock" now.
Weren't the cavities shielded? Curious.
@@daveclinton4945 The ones made in China are but the ones from Indonesian are not.
Great playing on a great guitar
Literally just sat and watched this and ordered one lol
Best review on this guitar...great player also
Fantastic guitar!!
Sweet playing.
Got mine last week, best value for money, plays great ,sounds great,a bit on the heavy side tho, will definately put brass saddles on it .
Skills too fresh my man ❤
Great tone
nice playing! got one of these myself and I was amazed of what sound you can really get out of this for the money
Some beautiful playing there, Max.
Zs
I’ve just ordered mine. Buy it before guitar prices increase in January!
Can confirm. I have had this for years and Ill never sell it
I’m excited to get one, I have a g&l tribute classic tele and I love it but I want a classic looking tele with rosewood fretboard, so excited to get this it seems great for the price
Superb video.
Finally a tele neck pup that doesn't sound like a strat!
R U sure it's a neck?
What? Go back to sleep!
OK, I like this guitar and someday I hope to own one. The video is fine. The guitar checks all of the boxes. The thing that makes me shake my head is the comment made at the end of the video. The reviewer says he would switch out the pick-ups and the saddle. Well, heck the pick-ups are what gives the guitar it's sound so if you want to switch them out that means you do not like the sound of the instrument. The saddle and the nut also affect the sound of the guitar so by switching out the saddle you are now well on your way to building a new guitar. Do the above mentioned upgrades, add some shielding, change out the pots, tuners and wiring, and Shazam you have a completely different guitar.
This video reminds me of the old saying, "Everything before the but is bull." The reviewer tells you how much he like the guitar and then throws in the "but I'd switch out the pick-ups and the saddle." By making this statement he invalidates everything he said in the video.
I think it's perfect. Wouldn't change a darn thing bro.
Tasty playing. Nice guitar for the price. A steal!
What is the price?
Great tone! Fantastic guitar and very affordable too!
Got one of these from my dad a few years back swapped out the neck pickup for a 59 pickup and a reverse switch plate gonna put a 59 style top loader bridge plate in next these classic vibes are fantastic the older classic vibes are far better than the newer ones especially the strats
I’ve got a 2020 Indonesian telecaster with fender bridge/saddles/pick ups it’s absolute quality
Merci!
Don't understand how these are cheaper than an entry level Fender. I purchased both and sent the Fender straight back. It was terrible compared to the classic vibe.
Mine plays & feels as good as my Players series tele.
Chinese/indonesian workforce is way cheaper than the american.
@@benedekgabor. Entry level Fenders are made in Mexico.
@@capri2673 Yes I know that. I was reffering to the Squiers tho.
You pay more for the name and better parts(and body wood).
Wow that's great tone! If you don't mind my asking, what rig/amp configuration are you using for this video?
why is the tone on this so nice? I find teles very trebly and shrill on most videos, this sounds much warmer and thicker
Small world, I have this guitar and the Eastman on the wall.
Better (much) than I expected. What’s the weight like? I like light.
That laugh at the end! Wonderful 😁 Was it that good?
0:46
Is this improvisation? Sounds very good
I think I prefer these types of Squiers over some Fenders... Due to pricing and also playability.
Ok you've convinced me thanks. To me the pickups sound perfectly fine and seem to sound better than the other classic vibes. I do however agree the brass saddles would look more appealing. Any ideas on what the pots resemble? Nice illustration of your playing too.
its plugged to a nice marshall amp. Anything sounds great connected to that kind of amp. Those Squiers are great too.
Pots look fine, no need to get changed I guess, unless if you're looking for 500k or 1M (stock ones are 250k)
That’s the thing, traditional telecasters are really hard to get wrong they’re wired so simply usually
same pickups
Squire will take you higher 👆 🔥
Man, nice playing! Can you give advice how to learn this melody? Is there ani tabs or tutorials how to play like you? Thanks!
The pickups on this guitar sounds great. Especially the neck pickup. The bridge is fine but for me I want a little bit more oomph. Replacing it with something a little more overwound/fatter.
I put a Dimarzio Area Hot T in my tele and it's amazing! It's like a P90 cross PAF bucker. I've lost some of the twang but I'm happy with the compromise.
What pickups would you put on? Cheers.
Bonjour ! Super vidéo !
Quel ampli lors de cette présentation ?
Hey man, I’m looking at buying this guitar maybe tomorrow. However I saw this video probably like a week ago, and I find myself coming back again and again just to listen to that first clean riff, I was wondering if you made that up or is it from a song, I would love to learn it!
Same here. Got mine last Christmas, and the thing that moved me to order was the sound of that beautiful riff/tune. CV Tele is everything I hoped for and more, but I keep coming back trying to soak up that riff.
Can you also string through the saddle or are there no holes for that?
Between this one and Telecaster CV 50, ¿wich is better?
Sounds great. Nice licks. I’d like to put a fender 7.25 classic series neck on one and then you’d have the real deal! The Squier necks are a bit too thin for me but then again they’re budget guitars and incredible value for money.
I know a guy who did that with an earlier Indo made model. He said the necks on the CV series are good enough and you can hardly tell. Also said he ultimately regretted it because he could have spent that money on another CV.
@@JesusStJamesDR that’s the problem, a MIM neck is €300 plus. And used it might have worn frets. I bought a 50s Esquire from a friend last week for €250 with Arlo mod, sozo caps, CTS pots, oak switch and brass saddles. She’s a dinger!
What amp are you playing through?
Nice demo mate. Would you say that it sounds different to the CV 50s? Also, does the neck width differ from the 50s?
Thanks man! There are a few vids with the 50’s CV on our channel. Uploaded one today in fact! The necks are quite similar as far as I recall. -Sasha
@@maxguitarstore Gonna check em out rn, thanks for your reply!
The reason why I chose the 60s vibe model is that I’m preparing Elvis shows. :)
Mine is great , but the pup switch I need to replace after about 6 years
Is the guitar shielded out of the box?
Think I'll go with the Fender Player and noisless pickups.
That one has an incredibly dark fingerboard considering it's Laurel. Unless it's an older production one? I'd buy it based on that alone ha
ok, what about the laurel fb and the nato body? what are your sensations comparing the fb to a rosewood one and what about the resonance of the body?
The fretboard feels really nice. Looks different than rosewood ofcourse! Resonance of the body is dependent on more factors than the choice of wood. Dryness matters and I believe also the lacquer used makes a difference. With Squiers there are brilliant ones but also less brilliant ones. That's why we always recommend to test a guitar in a store before you buy and to only buy online if you really have no other option. Because chances are you will not bond with it.
Anyone know what he was playing in the demo?
I wish a left handed version could be available on this particular model with double binding.
Are you sure there isn’t? Go to fenders website
Is that a brownburst as opposed to sunburst? It could be just my imagination but it looks a bit darker to me than earlier ones. Very classy...
apparently the chinese ones (mine) are more brownish, the newer ones go more in direction of "caramel"
I've got a 2020 Indonesian and it's dark
i have this guitar, but this sound is godly. what amp is this
Looks like a Marshall
That fretboard looks very dark to be indian laural?
How did the neck feel on this guitar? It’s been about 8 months of playing for me and considering buying this one.
I put an Allparts fat neck on mine !
How does that neck feel
@@isaiahkim8215 Sorry I meant to write fat neck. But the original neck was very skinny. The Chinese made one anyway.
Ohhh ok
Buy one Isaiah you won't regret it.
i thought i just loved the telecaster more because of its look, and preferred the strat for its sound, but idk man, the tele still sounds really good. i might buy my first electric tomorrow, which is definitely gonna be the classic vibe, but it’s way too difficult for me to choose between the two models.
that's why you end up with both at some point! cheers man
What did you get? Are you happy with it?
@@briansinclair1986 i eventually ended up with the strat classic vibe 60’s. im pretty happy with it. stays in tune pretty well, and overall just does its job great. honestly even if i went with the telecaster i don’t think i would’ve preferred the other and vice versa, because i’m still a beginner and i can’t tell too much differences. but i do know they’re both really awesome guitars. just like what the reply above yours says, it’s great to just end up with both someday. have a great day!!
@@biscuits2463 I'm glad you're happy with it!
I just picked up my first electric this weekend, a Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster 50s in butterscotch blonde. I just love it!
Are the pickup's any different than a 50 vibes??
no
Would an ashtray fit on the bridge
Probably
Yes
Oh, I wish was in a left handed version
CV rules
changed pups?
Just got one of these today. The bridge pickup did not work. One screw holding the switch on was loose. Had to take the control cover off, and bend the bridge pickup contact so that it would make contact. The more I switched it the worse it got until it stopped working entirely. This was a brand new unit. NOT IMPRESSED ! I took it back and got a refund.
Jesus. I definitely wouldn't be able to make that guitar sound that good. Nevertheless, Squier is killin' it right now.
Wow much do this one weigh?
Not sure, pretty heavy!
on the shipping invoice it said 12.9 pounds so take away cardboard weight and you got and idea.
Think I’ll pick one of these up and replace the neck, pickups and bridge it’ll work out cheaper than an umpteen thousand dollars fender custom tele
Wonderful guitar
I have it
Just one problem
It's 4.8 kg 10.6 pounds
I understand that varies
Maybe mine is the heaviest ever made 😂😂😂
I'm sitting down when I play it
That Guitar…as many are finding out, Needs Nothing. The saddles are perfect for keeping the strings perfectly spaced, (depending on what type of brass saddles you would change to they don’t keep the string spacing consistent) as far as the pickup goes it’s perfect for this type telecaster (meaning Esquire) the Tuners are the exact same type and caliber as were used back then…in other words…LEAVE IT ALONE! All you young relic mongers, don’t go scratching it all up trying to make it look old! Let the Esquire earn its marks naturally!
God Bless!

Amen man. I hate to see a MADE relic.. you said it best ..let it EARN its battle scars.. that's where the mojo lies in a guitar ..in its players hands thru countless gigs , rehearsals , bedroom , living room jams , in and out of of its case , leaning against the amp. being handled, and played., and going thru the motions ...not just scratched up and looking like someone used it...right on brother..let it EARN its place ...good post man..
i'm not being sarcastic, i'm just new. lol. what makes this one a "custom"?
In the early 60's Fender started making the Custom Telecaster which was a Tele with double binding on the body.
Does this actually have a bone nut? I find it hard to believe at this price point it’s real bone, but even Fender’s website states that. It would say “synthetic bone” otherwise.
Bone nuts don't cost that much.
I really like this sunburst but probably it's better the classic vibe 50 with his maple? I have fear that this Indian laurel is dry like mine on my Squier bullet
Just oil it
Some lemon oil will sort that out.
I don't think that lemon oil transforms Indian laurel in rosewood 😂
I have that model Squier Classic Vibe 60's Telecaster Custom. Mine is a few years old but in pristine condition. I think these are well worth the money. Mine cost $349.00. Back in the 1960 when this model was made by Fender in Fullerton California they cost $239.50. These Squier model cost about $479.00 now.
Well you cant compare back in day and modern prices like that. Price inflation has to be calculated. They never costed "400" dollars. More like 100-150 dollars and in todays price it would be 1500-1700$. If they costed 400 dollars back in the day it would be 3.5k in todays inflation.
@@diddymies The price on the 4 year old Squier Classic Vibe 60s Telecaster Custom that I got is still better than the price on the new ones and definitely better than the new Fender that costs $2,029.99.
As much as I would say the classic vibe series is good, I find it funny that people say it’s the best guitar at its price point. I’ve found revelation and and vintage electrics (better hardware and woods) to be right up their maybe even better for cheaper. Funny they aren’t part of the conversation…
This is a review of the classic vibe.
Watch a video comparison on the ones you mentioned against the classic vibe.
Do you understand?
I don't know whether to go for this squier or the Fender Player tele, anyone can help me out?
These are some of the best teles in the market. Save your money to get upgrades later.(pickups/tuners/nut etc.)
