for blend modes, i recommend looking into what each of them mean, since even if something works, there might be a blend mode that achieves an effect better. here's a quick list of the ones i use commonly: - add: adds two colors together, kind of like shining a light of the foreground's color onto the background. - screen: basically makes the foreground only use colors brighter than the background. it's like projecting an image onto a screen. - lighten: similar to screen, but has a different effect - multiply: multiplies two colors together; it completely tints the background into the foreground's color - darken: like multiply but less intense - overlay: it adds sone contrast based on the foreground's color.
Im on 467 subscribers and i try and learn a new skill for each video. This is good stuff!! More skills to add to my list so i can make better videos!!!!
I got to say, out of all the videos I watch from you guys. A lot of them are great information and inspiration. But this video... I know I will watch over and over again and work these edits into my videos as it will genuinely help improve a skill that seems like everyone should know but not many do. Thank you for the video guy!
Grateful for my 258 awesome subscribers! 🥰🙌 Your support keeps me going every day. Tough times come and go, but I'm here to stay, growing and improving for all of us. Let’s keep the journey going! 💪💫
Hey guys, you do not need to duplicate a clip whenever you want to use a mask, instead of duplicating it and then adding the mask under opacity, you can add the mask under whichever effect you have on the single clip, so for example, if you want to blur or make his face heated, you could add only a clip of his face or whatever you want to mask then apply whichever effect you want to add to the clip, then under the name of the effect you added in the effects control panel, you click one of the three mask icons depending on the one you want to use, the circle icon is for round masks, rectangle for rectangular mask and then the pen icon for custom shaped mask then once you're done masking, you adjust the effect according to your choice, if it's masking the opposite of what you want it to do, then click inverse and you're done and you can also feather it from there also. Also to feather it, you can also drag the feather slider or input your value directly from the effects control panel under the effect and mask. Thanks.
This would be better done in Davinci Resolve, new creators are far better served with several hundred dollars to spend on more important things than giving it to adobe.
I’ve found using a green keyer instead of mask/blending really helps however using that method could allow me to use a variety of content on my vids. Videos like this are really useful in teaching different techniques etc so thank you! They certainly help me and my content
17:37 I find that the easiest way to zoom on a specific spot without having it look like it’s sliding is to move the anchor point of the video to the point I want to zoom in on.
Great video! Next video or just anytime could you do one for capcut? Because I use capcut mainly for editing. I comepletely overthink my Editing and Idk if there's a specific editing style that's trending and working nowadays but I wouldn't mind some tricks and tips on editing videos in capcut.
Just wanna say i hope everyone makes it! And never quit. Just keep grinding to ur end goal, no dont make a end goal, you gotta keep pushing. I’m at 88 subscribers currently got a milestone for 100 subs, all we gotta do is keep going!
Thank you for taking the time to share this 🤯🤯I guess I'm way basic on editing. But I did learn things & will save to rewatch . Have a great week ! Thanks for the help
Broooo, great video! You've got a great way of explaining things, and you can tell that the order of the information is strategically set up to help internalize the concepts/skills we've just learned. Greetings from Argentina!
im a new creator with 38 subscribers. i edit my own videos. im just so amazed watching you do the editing. i wish i can learn and apply them to my upcoming videos too. Is there a free version of adobe editing app? Thanks for sharing your skill.
Thank you for this video, nesting is really a good thing to learn in video editing, for those who use Davinci Resolve they are called Compound Clips. 👑
This video covers exactly what I needed next to get my editing to the next level THANKS. p.s. never had a creditcard (never needed it), but I'm getting one to get vidiq boost
Nice John (and clone John)! Always great to see someone else's workflow and to pick up a little trick or two! I'd love to see something like this for audio. I film a lot outside with equipment, so I feel I do a decent job, but I'm sure I could improve! Best, -- J. Andre. / Old Iron Acres
1:06 I use FilmForth and it'd have to be Picture in Picture mode then Chroma Key (which is basically green screen mode) 4:51 I'd have to use something like PowerPoint to blur
An interesting, informative and helpful video editing video Vidiq and it is appreciated because I need all the help i can get to develop and improve my editing skills. Love 🥰 Vidiq.
For clarity, is this photoshop? I use CapCut currently and am looking to upgrade to Davinci. Saved this video for future references. Amazing tips and gotdayyum this guy is good! 🚨
Nice video. I've been learning editing by the "try it" method. I appreciate the on screen tools showing how you do it without lots of technical terms. Thank you.
Very very helpful! II use Adobe Premier as well, but I'm like a caveman with a computer! I barely make it work, II would love more videos like this. also one question: How you hide a clip?
On tutorial 2 I try to add the darken effect with the exposure adjustment but it is not nested with the blur mask. It darkens everything. I've watched this part multiple times over and don't understand what I did different or wrong. I am on the correct layer with the blur effect btw. *edit* Figured it out was creating the mask in blur when I should of done it on opacity.
Finaly well done and epic Video. always looking for Video like this and end up looking at 6 sponsors and 7 other basic tips like how to open and close a file. Perfect Video Perfect way to study just wish I was at home to practice and not at work.
Question on audio editing . Some software have the ability to do txt to talking head video . When I upload to UA-cam they ask , " Does this video do AI to make someone say something they wouldn't normally say ? " How whould I answer that question ? 2nd question , Some AI have a program where I/someone can read a 500 word paragraph and upload the audio to the AI . Then upload a txt about a topic and they will generate an audio with my voice , reading the txt . Then I am asking the same question as the first paragraph , am I altering the audio to make me say something that " I " am not saying . #3 question , What is the name of the AI that can mimic my voice for txt to audio ?

Although those descriptions are helpful, nothing beats flipping through all those modes just to see how they look

Thanks. My pc is pretty weak, so I can't use some video editing features. But the first example worked perfectly 👌
