Thank you for this. My DIY kewlus cobra bag feels great! If you have extra pool noodle (you will), cut off thick discs and slide them in between your weight plates at the bottom. No more rattling noise!
I made this and am literally super impressed how well this cobra reflex works. Reedy did a wonderful job. He made like 8 prototypes so go show reedy some love
Nice review. Nice “collab” from two of my favourite UA-camrs. The open coil spring is the secret. That’s why Garcia’s is good and many others are disappointing. The value for money of this is amazing.
I've tried the ryan garcia bag and I'll let you know the kewlus spring outperforms the ryan garcia bag which is $500 and you can build your own for under $150
I've been watching you and Reedy for at least 2 years. I screwed up my first build buy trying to go too cheap and my screws went through my base and absolutely destroyed our living room floor with a few punches before...well, my wife noticed. Lol. She almost killed me so that was the real test of my reflexes.. I have since made one better.
Most people prefer a double end bag but for all of us who can't set one up because we can't hook things to the ceiling, this kewlus bag is amazing! It brings the price of a cobra bag super low and Imo this one is fast enough to be compared with double ends.
I also did this and made a full body dummy out of pool noodles. It obviously didn't mimic a real punch, but those noodles flinging at you is a pretty cool effect. You have to learn to get inside the lenth and land your own shots. Which I'm short so I need to get inside anyways. In my case I had my pool noodle as an orthodox fighter, and had his left in a hooking motion (but wider than it should have been), and I had his right out straight. I could slip it on and off the base with ease and then add my normal reflex bag target (which was a cheap lighter weight volleyball). It worked real well and was plenty fast enough for me at my older age now.
Cobra bag are insane expensive for what they offer in terms of spare parts, I always wondered if I could build one be myself... and here is the answer. Thank you for sharing
Instead of plates i used sand-filled umbrella weights they are cheap on amazon and the same diameter of a 45 lb plate but really absorb the vibrations less noise
Was going through your videos for the past 4 hours at work lmao and decided to make this instead of buying the ringside tornado bag!! Thanks for the great content bro
Hey Carlo, when you're not boxing, training, running a UA-cam empire, or raising your family, you should have a go at upholstery and make a cool leather cover for that.
That's great, the secret seem to be in the spring, less winds in it is the faster the rebound, I would be tempted to get a proper speed ball type top, but I know the idea is to make as cheap as possible, top job!
NICE! Thanks for this, I’m going to try and make my own using your guide, the ones you can buy don’t seem to rebound like the expensive ones but this one seems to move better!
I found a cheaper alternative for the spring. What is the wire diameter of the spring? Looks like 3mm, but not 100% sure which thickness to go with. Thanks in advance!
@@wordlife_97 I haven't attempted to build one b/c im fine w/ a double end bag. There are compression springs on amazon that sell for less than half the price of the kewlus spring. I would suggest looking for one that is similar dimensions (at least 8" long). Good luck. Let me know how it goes if you try it.
Just a thought, not sure but I think an alternative may be a fishing net float the type fishing trawlers use. That's about the same size as the one you made. Something to look into.
This is way better then the ones from all the Companys, way cheaper you can hit it with all you got becasue if you breake it, its just a few Bucks to fix it. Now i just need to find out where i can buy the Spring and Translation everything in Metric
I’d like to see how fast it is when you use the speed adjustment with a longer section of pvc. It still looks fast but i’m just interested to see it at it’s fastest
i have a kewlus spring with a long pvc and it's a monster! you can lower it on the bottom half to make it even faster too. i'll see if i can upload a vid
@csquaredboxing amazing video brother, I can not express how much your channel does for the boxing community.. I was wondering if you could tell me if that Kewlus Pro spring will fit our Ringside Reflex Cobra bag stand? I appreciate all you do brother 💯💪😎
@@csquaredboxing Lord I've watched your videos and Reedy's for years. I forgot I made that post. I'm just now putting another bag together after I moved. I finally put quick dry concrete on my weights (wasted 2-45 pound plates). The concrete does eventually start to breakdown with the vibration so I do not recommend. :-D. Great videos. Cool if you and Reedy ever did a teammate video.
Another banger! Nice rebounds, quick and snappy-to-centre in comparison to some flimsy lookin' name brands... weight would be the most costly... portable clampmount for the spring to railings or fixed objects could be nice.. and portable.
