- Chevrolet invited us to Pitt Race for a first drive of the 2023 C8 Chevy Corvette Z06 and would you just LISTEN to it! The C8 Corvette Z06 is powered by a unique flat-plane crank 5.5L V8, naturally-aspirated making 670 HP and 490 lb-ft. It's a screamer! We spent all morning on track at Pitt Race with the #c8z06 and C8 Z06 with Z07 performance package, then took a black C8 Corvette Z06 70th Anniversary edition for a 3-hour road drive on some excellent back roads. Here's what we think of the #CorvetteZ06!

The dang color scheme on this rascal is ridiculously wonderful....spent the last five minutes figuring what I can sell to get this EXACT one!
Hi, i will say this Chevy corvette z06 is a super exotic car looks great I liked the colour combination upscale
Thank you for cutting from the track video to show you passing someone, that was absolutely my favorite moment! You can really see it in your expression as you take in the impact of the speed and capability of the car! Keep these vids coming, we're here for EVERY ONE OF THEM!!!
I typically buy these friggin things when they are 15 years old lol. I have a C6Z06 that I absolutely love. It’s so planted and impresses me all the time. I would love to drive something mid engine. Must be such an amazing experience. If my car is planted at the track I can’t imagine how this must be! Even the stingray with some modifications can probably almost match the new Z. Chevy did a great job!
Dump Truck Driver: WOW a Z06! AWESOME!
Great vid. I was never really interested in the c8 before, but this changes things. That sounds amazing on the recording I can only imagine how it sounds in-person.
Keep them videos coming I'm subscribing rite now
This car is so 🔥 👌 😍 and my fav color!🤩
Awesome car and great review!
Can’t wait to have mine #27 at Rick Hendrick
More sports and performance cars please
We're driving all of 'em that we can get our hands on!
Great review, very informative. I will add you're driving in the Z07 pck'd car. That's evident from the canards, and big wing in the back. The carbon fiber wheels are just an additional option
Maybe in the future this will be a t model like the first ford's cars but still want it. Please corvette send me one thanks
Very good video most of the C8 videos that I've been watching the host is pretty knowledgeable and they're always very excited to be in the C8 and the z06 is even more exciting but the one thing I get from this host is that he goes in to fine detail where the other hosts go into detail but not as deep as this host.
Glad you enjoyed!
Nice
You can adjust the exhaust setting independent of the drive modes.
Not necessarily a daily driver depending on weather and tire selection I imagine?
Semi-Slick Tires are great for the track, but with a few “Track Days” they will need replaced and/or in how many miles of daily driving? Replacements may be problematic finding tires as well as being expensive!
Right - if you'd be street-driving the car much it'd be worth either avoiding the Z07 package to get the Pilot Sport 4S tires or having a second set of wheels/tires for street vs track use. Those Cup 2Rs will not last long on the street and provide suboptimal grip below ~50° F.
Those are 70th anniversary forged wheels actually
So, carbon fiber wheels are optional on the Z07 package, not included. And, you made no mention of the fact that the car you had was a 70th anniversary edition package. And, a very strange set of options on this car, with the aero package and the carbon ceramic brakes, it would have only been a few dollars more to spec it with the full Z07 package!
Yeah - apologies for that. I drove other C8 Z06s throughout the day and hopped into this one for the street drive portion and overall intro section of the video... and there wasn't a window sticker or options list *and* it was the end of the day so I had no time to go in detail. Super fun day of driving these cars but could have used more time to get facts per car 100% squared away.
I REALLY interested in how HARSH the ride was in the various modes
Was pretty good in Tour - comfortable enough given the type of car (and Z07 package has a different magneride setup vs Z06) and Sport was fine for well-paved back roads where you want a bit more tightness/sharpness. "Track" is truly set up for track use and is pretty harsh on the street. It's well-controlled and behaved in Tour.
Manic? Cracked out?
It's not just you, I've seen ALL the Pittsburgh driving experiences in the past week or so, but it's very annoying. Z07 is a PACKAGE!! ...not a model. How hard can it be to make that distinction? You can BET that the dealerships will. I just don't get it. Did I miss something? As mentioned, it isn't just you.
We spent the whole day ("we" meaning everyone there, GM folks and media) calling the cars Z06 and Z07 to distinguish which was which. Definitely needs more nuance because the model name is always "Z06" and then you add various packages... one risk of making a model name from an RPO code. Also mentioned in another comment - our day ran long and we had literal minutes to film the intro with this black car, so apologies if some things aren't 100%. The black car was a Z06 w/Z07 and no CF wheels.
If your gonna review a vette, put on a manly shirt!!! 🌈 boy
you're*
Gays drive Corvettes too, ya know. Sorry you can't handle that. And pink is just a color. 😘
So much misinformation in just the intro of your video, I had to stop almost immediately! The black car that you start off with IS a Z07! It is actually a 70th anniversary edition. Not all Z07's come with carbon fiber wheels- that is a separate option. However, for some reason, the CF wheels are not an option you can spec for a 70th anniversary. Learn WTF you are talking about before making a video and then speaking about it as if it is facts.
Thanks for the feedback Chad! We had about four minutes to film with this car given the schedule of the day, so apologies for the mis-speak on it not being a Z07. We were not given many details on the 70th Anniversary cars either.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed the driving segment as that's what really matters. And thanks for the ad revenue despite your open contempt.
Why are you so harsh? Didn't you get any nookie last night? Last week? Last YEAR? It's a CAR review....you've got politicians and dictators the world over, spewing misinformation everywhere, everyday that effects LIVES....and you're here about to have a stroke over a review of a car that 90% of Americans can't afford!?...dude, take a breath mint, a Tylenol, and sit your ass down....before you have a damn stroke!
@@OutMotorsports You're a kind, reasonable and TOLERANT man to endure that miscreants insults....hats off. 😎
@@raymondtuckerjr1886 People get passionate about cars and we always appreciate the feedback from viewers... it's tough to be on camera with no cue cards or anything written down and sometimes you say something a little wrong. Doesn't change how good this Z06 [with Z07 package and no CF wheels] is and how much fun we had with it :)
Wrong. It’s not a z07. No cup 2rs. You can spec CC brakes and aero separately.
I own z06Corvette . Eth. and none of these busters can afford to buy it from me. I feel honored. The New England Patriots paid 100k to own Patriots. eth. In a league of my own.
