    My first Miata is a 2014 that came out of a junkyard and my father rebuild it for me for racing. It is SCCA and IMSA spec. Been racing it for 2 years now and got into racing Miatas due to IRacing. But I knew about 2022's coming out and I bought it for my pleasure road driving and totally love the car.

    These cars (club BBR) also have the Bose audio. After 4 months, mine finally came in and it's absolutely fantastic. I installed a GoodWin Roadster Sport Twin Tip exhaust and it sounds how it should have from the factory.

    The touring package is basic. The Club costs a few thousand more. Interior wise the touring obviously is fancier looking. The dumb thing is the more expensive Club (i have an RF) is not adaptive. Why? Touring does. I have a 2019 and am buying a 23 or 24 if i have to wait.

    Would love to see the brake temp difference on that inside brake pad.

    • @OutMotorsports
      @OutMotorsports  2 роки тому +2

      Given it's only applying a max of 45 psi for brief periods of time, it's likely not much difference.

    • @ALMX5DP
      @ALMX5DP 2 роки тому +1

      Glad to hear it shouldn’t be too aggressive to brake temps. I got a bit nervous hearing that at first, as my Focus ST with front axle brake torque vectoring adds a ridiculous amount of heat to the brakes. Even a 35 second autocross run ends with the brakes literally smoking.

      This was my concern with the KPC as well. I too have races with some FoST, and man, do those brakes get toasty.

    • @OutMotorsports
      @OutMotorsports  2 роки тому +1

      @@ALMX5DP Mazda was interviewed by another outlet (Car & Driver? Can't remember off hand) and they claim torque vectoring can exert up to 450 psi on the caliper, where this can only apply 45 psi. So it's way, way less. The FoST in particular was really bad about smoking the brakes.

      @@OutMotorsports That's some interesting detail, thank you for providing that! Seems like this Miata system is very subtle, and maybe it's my bias speaking but sounds like in line with their driving philosophy. I've never driven an ND but would love to take one out for a spin to see how it compares to my NB1.

    Your knees are bad? Try my age. The problem I have with the MX-5 is my Bertone X 1/9 spoiled me with whole slow sports car driven fast thing. By the time the Miata came along I was so over it that I wanted a light car that had some get up. Hence my Elise and now my 4CSpider. 2485lbs and 240hp. If feels genuinely fast. Very stiff ride though. No car is perfect.

    • @OutMotorsports
      @OutMotorsports  2 роки тому +1

      I fell over while doing the limbo and cracked my tibia. Really cool way to screw up your knee/leg but now squatting and running are less fun, despite PT and keeping everything strong. Oops!
      Elise and 4C are two more super fun, focused sports cars! Just less attainable or daily-driver friendly than the Miata is all.

    How do the Recaros stack up compared to the standard cloth seats?

    • @OutMotorsports
      @OutMotorsports  2 роки тому

      Best seats out of the options you have, though every body will fit them differently of course. They seem a bit more sculpted and thus give a touch more space for tall folks.

  • @v10mclaren

    How do you feel about the recaro’s vs the GT’s leather seats?
    Big difference? Have a preference?

    • @OutMotorsports
      @OutMotorsports  2 роки тому +1

      Would prefer the Recaros vs the leather GT seats or regular cloth, they seemed to be the friendliest for taller people who need every bit of extra room they can get. A bit more "sculpted" if you will.

      22 club RF for a few months
      If you have the chance to try the different seats one thing to look for is how the seatbelt rest. My shoulders sit a little higher than the seatbelt holder which actually makes my steering arm go numb during 30+ min drives.
      Im probably going to get new bolts and put a spacer in to raise the seatbelt holder.

    Doesn't this increase fuel consumption?

    Miata is a fun two seater- with compromises. It's cramped inside, cupholders are a joke, no traditional glove box, no rear seats, strange hump on the passenger floor - making it very uncomfortable for your guest , the trunk space is tiny and long road trips are painful. If you want the drop top experience with no compromises...the answer is a Mini Cooper convertible. It handles like a go-cart, can be used in all seasons, long trips, holds four people, rear seats fold down, great color choices, 3 or 4 cylinders....it does it all.

      Mini ? Good go kart yes. But the traction is at the wrong place for been called sporty car.

    Why bother with kinematic bs when they can just tune the suspension to be a bit flatter?

    • @OutMotorsports
      @OutMotorsports  2 роки тому

      Mazda engineers didn't want to compromise the ride quality and make it any stiffer by retuning suspension or putting fatter sway bars on it.

    As a gay man, I would never drive a fruity car like a Miata. I'm interested in masculine men like myself so I only drive trucks or SUVs.

    • @djbrianc

      Trucks and SUVs are not good handling performance cars and he along with being gay is a racecar driver. Besides, he test plenty of trucks and SUVs. Sooooooooooo

      You clearly don't enjoy driving that much if you instantly write of a Miata for being "fruity". Way to let toxic masculinity dictate your life!

      @@BN99239 True you got me there. SUV's are mostly driven by women. I mainly drive trucks though. I like to portray a macho image at all times.
