The reason why she's not mentioned as "Hot Korean girl" is because in that movie she was a 9 y/o.
ok that makes a lot more sense
B v cc 😊
whats that show less and read more for
Then say “Korean child” or something? I guess it makes more sense in context though
Everything makes sense now.
My 80-something grandmother was left-handed as a child, but because it was the 40s they "trained" her out of it. It was so traumatic for her that now when she tries to write with her left hand, everything comes out perfectly reversed. Letters, words, everything. It's an interesting remnant of her left handedness, but it sucks that she had to deal with that.
On one hand, it's sad that people actually tried to do that.
On the other hand, that's impressive being able to write backwards.
I went through a similar thing, 13 now, out of that god forsaken place. Dad filed for emergency after my mom "stole" me and we are going to court about it in a week, Frick you Jeremy, Frick you. but hey, i'm ambidextrous now!

I actually looked up the details of why "Yuna Song isn't a Hot Korean girl" and its because the movie that's from (The Interview) she played a Little Girl and the "Hot Korean Girls" that're listed in the credits play a series of lingerie-clad harem-acting women so, I think in reality (unless you're super fucked up) the roles make entire sense
That does make sense with the context, though without it it sure doesn't haha
Yeah. With that context, it would be super weird to call her a Hot Girl…

@ 7:53 this actually bugs me so much--Pheidippides ran not 26, but about 325 miles, in less than 3 days. I think his memory has been sullied by the fact that only the last leg of the journey is talked about.

Not only is the memorization of an entire Scrabble dictionary impressive in and of itself. The ability to win is still a feat in and of itself. Just because you know all of the words, doesn't mean you can recall the best ones fast enough for the situation. It's like being able to have a textbook during a test, you are still going to see people failing the test.
I looked up how to pronounce Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz and after about 10 listens, I still can only reliable get the first and last half of the last.
That sign about the Telluride and Pallisade looks very fake.
Consider it this way. Scrabble is not really about language, it is a pattern matching game.
Frankly, it is not really different than memorizing all English words. There are 267 751 words in it.
I find it hilarious that people only really find it impressive when the guy does it with French, despite him knowing the existence of a TON of English words no one would ever consider.
The impressive part is memorizing tons of words, but in reality, it is no more impressive doing it with French when you can't speak French.
It is a funny meme though, but I find it weird that people are often praising the wrong thing.

19:33 As a software developer I can confirm. It's absolutely possible for names to not fit the database schema. My guess would be that they use the name as a unique key or indexed the table on that column resulting in that you couldn't have two people sharing the same name ("Jeffrey2" should've worked tho...). And no, there's no reasonable scenario you would do that on a user table, but it's possible xD
Maybe the IT guy is named Jeffrey and named the database "jeffrey" because he has 0 naming sense (not like I am better, naming my databases after anime characters)
Fcuk 8:30 in particalr, then.
I've tried figuring this out, but every scenario just seems too unlikely.. Not being able to have the same name is the obvious answer, but there's a wide range of fixes that take like 5 seconds to implement, and if the company is really having issues like this, I think they've dodged a bullet by not getting hired there
if the reasoning is real and this wasn't faked, or it wasn't just a weird excuse then the issue they have is probably deeper and doesn't only apply to "jeffrey" specifically
The idea that they used peoples names as the clustered index potentially has me laughing so hard, like who does that!? Or the idea that Jeffrey is just too long of a name, and they don't know how to change it to varchar(7) from varchar(5)
I now have a head canon that the database dev had some power tripping jerk higher up (probably an owner or CEO named Jeffrey) being a slave driver with unreasonable expectations & harassment. The dev then caught wind they were going to be fired without cause as soon as the database was made. So they made the name Jeffrey and any variation thereof some kind of validation requirement for it.
No one knows how to fix it and anyone they have gotten to try says it can't be done because they understand and hate Jeffrey too.

As far as the Kia/Hyundai sign, it's due to having an issue with the trailer hitch that can cause the car to catch fire. So, many parking garages won't let them park there due to the possibility of fire (and those particular models are supposed to be parked outside for the same reason).
time for a recall
Okay but how the hell does the trailer hitch cause a fire?
@@EdyAlbertoMSGT3 As I understand it, it's due to the wiring. Lots of trailers have lights in the back for stopping, turning, etc. and they need to be wired to the vehicle.
32:51 it’s because they were recalled for battery fires .
Regarding the repeated 'Jeffery' and job database issue, I think I worked with someone who had this issue. Dude was hired during the pandemic and given all the necessary training and junk, but they found out his name matched another employee's name to the letter, who had already been fired and listed as not rehireable. This prevented them from giving him certain credentials necessary to actually do the work he was hired for. They couldn't fire him without just cause, and they were most likely keeping him around to avoid potential legal disputes due to discrimination loopholes, because for the next six months, this dude just came into work on time, walked around the floor, did what the supervisors asked him to do, then leave. Didn't do a bit of actual work for six months and got paid just the same as the rest of us due to some database BS the higher ups couldn't correct.

15:05 This one gave me hella flashbacks. In middle school, it turned out our deputy head master had been cheating on his wife with one of the teachers. When his wife found out, she put it in the local newspaper, local radio stations - anywhere that woman could get it broadcast, she got it. A lot of the mothers had crushes on the guy - safe to say nobody would touch him with a barge pole after that. I remember seeing his name in the paper and thinking he must've done something really good for the community (generally all our newspaper has in it). When I read what she'd written, I took it straight to my mum because I didn't really understand it considering I was like 8. When she explained it to me, I was astounded lmao. Even now, the whole local community still shuns him and the teacher he had the affair with. Turns out she was married too and, if I remember correctly, pregnant at the time. They both ended up getting divorces respectively to be with each other and they acted like they had the greatest love story ever. Any time I see those two though, they look so freaking depressed now.
