  • When talking about the greatest College Football teams ever, 2001 Miami and 2019 LSU are a few that come to mind. 1995 Nebraska is also in that conversation, and might be the most dominant of them all.
An unstoppable run game and a stifling run defense helped the Cornhuskers repeat as National Champions.

95 Nebraska was the greatest team of all time. Tommie could get back in the shotgun 5 wide and fling the ball too. And I'm a diehard Oklahoma Sooners fan

How did they only beat a 3-8 Washington State team by 14 points is what I want to know!

I’m a Purdue but I think the 2001 Miami Hurricanes are the greatest of all time. Their defense was second to none, only allowing 13 touchdowns that season while scoring 8, which is insane. Their offense was a powerhouse as well, with the three-headed running back threat of Clinton Portis, Willis Mcgahee, and Frank Gore, I would mention Jarret Payton, but he didn’t really become known that well until about the 2003 season. They had a tough full back, Najee Davenport, who could run and receive. Miami also had a passing attack, and deep threats such as Andre Johnson, Darrel Jones, Jeremy Shockey, and Kevin Beard, who were a force to be reckoned with. DBs knew Andre Johnson was the key to Miami’s receiving core, but no one could cover or stop the connection between Dorsey and Johnson. They went undefeated and every game but two, they won by at least three touchdowns. Miami had most of their games won by halftime and would cruise through the second half by subbing in backups by the end of third quarter or at the start of the fourth quarter. The 2001 Miami Hurricanes I would say is the all time greatest, due to the simple fact of how determined they were and how the blew out top notch opponents. They were dominant on both sides of the ball and there is no one that could stop them.

The facts don't lie, 1995 nebraska had a margin of victory against ranked opponents (end of season) by 30.75 compared to Miami's 29.17. That's without dominant NFL players at every other position

@@aaronsams8605 Miami would take their foot off the gas in a number of blow out games by subbing in backups. Nebraska wouldn’t sub in backups until late in the fourth quarter when the game is basically over. Miami could’ve had a far higher score margin if they wanted to.

@@taitrief Would disagree there, Miami had an extremely tough defense and a high caliber offense. It would be tough for 95 Nebraska to reach 56 on the 01 Hurricanes, heck I’d be surprised if they got at least 14.

@@christwarrior8501 You didn't watch any of their games in 1995 if you think that's true. Their fifth string running back Jay Sims was in most games and averaged 9 yards per carry. Tommie Frazier was usually out of the game by the 1st or 2nd offensive series of the second half.
