Nice review. Balanced and in context. Well done. Way too many watch reviewers insist on comparing a $50 homage watch to the $10,000 original watch, and find fault with it. You pretty much get what you paid for, so you always need to review watches in the context of their prices. And when you do that, this watch is a screaming bargain, even though the Rolex is a lot better.
Back when the Watchdog believed Benyar and their all stainless steel lies hahaha. Watching this as I just picked this up for under 50 bucks. Nice watch for the money!
I bought this watch recently, and here are my thoughts. Other than the branding, which is Benyar, not Rolex, this watch is about 99% identical with the Rolex from the front. From the back, the two watches are totally different. The Benyar has a display back revealing a fairly humdrum undecorated movement. The Rolex has no display back. As for the bracelet, I paid little attention to it because I dislike metal bracelets and as with any braceleted watch I buy, it arrived with a wriststrap. In this case, I bought an orange silicone strap to pick up the color of the lightning bolt seconds hand. The combination is very striking indeed. I know people will be asking me about the watch. Back to the movement. Reviewers kind of dismiss it as "a cheap Chinese movement." Well, I put it to the test with a watch timer and it's right on the money. No deviation at all. Forget Rolex's +/-2 seconds. A +/-2 second Rolex Milgauss is less accurate than this $54.99 Benyar homage. I don't pretend that this is a great watch. The movement may become less accurate over time and need service for that or other possible reasons. If it does, I'll gladly simply buy another one.
The watch is NOT stainless, the case is chrome plated copper alloy, and I found out because they scratched the chrome on the lugs when they put on the bracelet. If you take off the end links you'll probably see the same. Only the bracelet is steel.
You can buy a sterile dial and hands in this pattern for about £8 on ebay as I bought a set simply as it was cheaper for the milgauss second hand I wanted to put on another piece.
Word on street is Benyar quartz watches (and i have aSpeedmaster quartz that has proven very accurate) that those quartzes are Seikos....but not marked obviously as such, though I've heard claims they have found seiko marks all over these Benyars, depending on model. Anyway....happy with my speedmaster (lost 3 seconds in 3 months) which made made willing to give the millgauss a try...though i admit i didn't realise i bought an automatic! I think it's a bit pig a game of chance with these. You might get a perfect one.... Or you might get a horror! Fingers crossed i get a nice one. Got Oman Amazon for £26 so returns no problem.....but might also be fun to muck about with it if it sucks.
I just ordered the explorer version I love how it looks.....all i see on UA-cam except you and one other channel is bad things but oh whell I like it and I love how it looks
That's the one i got, as it has the more accurate orange markers...though original only has them at 3 and 9?....Anyway well happy.always admired the MilGauss..but a few more 'real' watches on the list before i start a serious hunt for a real Rolex MilGauss. At least i get to try it on the wrist to see if it suits!
I also bought this watch and I'm happy about my purchase. The price is insane.

For that price with an automatic movement its a heck of a good deal. I'd take this over any Vostok any day of the week.

Yes, I have discovered that but have not updated my review since it is getting old.

Thanks for the video 👌
Isn’t Benyar one of those brands who advertise it as ss but it’s really alloy?
Yes
Funny just for fun i was looking for a vostok , but now i will be getting one of those.
so, is it real stainless steel?
No. I was mistaken in my review. It is a chrome plated alloy.
Can you swim with it? Have you submerged it? I picked one up for $36 off Amazon to wear as an everyday watch.
I have not water tested. Benyar claims 5 bars.
@@funwithwatches7549 I don’t think I’m gonna chance it. 😂😂
Mechanical watch in a magnetic box! Oh brother!
A Milgauss is anti-magnetic...🤣
