Thanks a lot for sharing this, I never use vocoder and frequency shifter like that before. This videos are gold, i found you thanks to YOKED collab. How are you so good at music production?
Thank you so much for watching! And mega shoutout to YOKED, absolute legend. I can't say how "good" I am at music production cause it's hard to judge that, but I can say that I've been producing music since 2014, but I've only been actively making Dubstep since late 2019 / early 2020.
Thanks yo! It's my first ever keeb build (2021) and I've been meaning to make another one since this one has quite a few mistakes on it. That being said though, it does sound pretty decent despite some flaws. Much luv yo!
I tend not to use the frequency shifter, because it doesn't work for more than one note and I can't be bothered to resample anything. A better approach to this I think is by using the additive part of operator and drawing the overtones to taste. The vocoder is absolutely sick though and I'll be using it a lot more!
I already do use the overtones with Operator, and it can work with more than one note for sure! It's a bit more convoluted if you try to approach it mathematically that way so I tend to use it with a separate frequency shifter and tune by ear, and automate the frequencies when needed. I hope that helps, and I wish I put that in the video. Either way, glad to help!
this is such a cool watch, especially since i'm learning sound and wave physics rn !
Cheers irie! Shoutout dem waves!
boi that's a very educational video
thanks man 🤝
Thanks yo! Glad you were able to get somethin out of it!
I really appreciate your contributions you really are a master [GENES!S].
I'm nowhere near a master, just sharing my findings. Big luv yo!
4:08 its a minor 7th! the perfect fourth doesnt appear in the harmonic series for quite a while, we get the tritone (diminished5th/augmented4th) first
Ah thanks for letting me know! I'm just guessing, I don't have perfect pitch or anything but thanks a lot!
f*ckn numbers 💀 omfg hellyea 6:40 🔥
I know math isn't for everyone but music in of itself is pretty mathematical.
Bubbly!
VERY good work here - you have a talent for explaining sound design 👍
Thank you loads man, I try to make sure the point gets across as much as possible! Much luv!

just sample it to wav, and problem with pitch is solved

fck fck fck this is amazing
Thanks a lot man, haha!
The much smart
yummy math
on a real note tho, thanks so much yo! big ups legend!
