    Would've been nice to hear an example of what a frequency shifter does to harmonic sounds and what a pitch shifter does to inharmonic sounds

      Totally agreed! I guess it's something I overlooked in this video 😅

    Hey, new guy here! I'm doing some research involving mice and I was wondering if you'd be willing/able to assist me. Which microphone/device and which software would I need to see the 1 kHz - 110 kHz spectrum? And how might I shift these sounds into the human range of hearing?
    I'm trying to design a mouse-detecting robot lol

    so IF I want some frequency beating its best to do it with a frequency shifter. A pitch shifter will do chorus sounds. Correct?

      @matttinklermusic  5 днів тому

      Yep, if you want a beating sound, then frequency shifter is a good bet!

    Great vid. One remark is you should've said "tonal", instead of "musical". Drums are musical too :)

      You're 100% correct! I think I was just trying to find the right words and couldn't when recording. Thank you for watching! :)

      @@matttinklermusic yes indeed very nice for shifting kick drum or a clap to fit the track

    Hey Martiln 😊 Thank you for this, and your videos in general. You explane things super clearly, and I realy appreciate that 😊 I am currently in the process of designing my own drum kit, using drum-rack in Ableton 11. I’ll try the frequecy shifter, for sure, when tuning toms, snare and kick

      You're welcome! Thank you for the kind words and thanks for watching! :D
      Definitely try out the frequency shifter for drum tuning, you'll get a much better result than a pitch shifter, but you can also always transpose the sample (which, as long as you aren't warping it, will be an even better option at the expense of changing the length of the sample).
