- On March 20, 2004, BORG Assimilator opened at Carowinds. The roller coaster featured immersive Star Trek theming and a unique flying experience. Now known as Nighthawk, the ride is still a fan favorite. #Carowinds50
Please don't get rid of this ride. At least not until after I get out there to ride it for myself one year.
Believe me, you’re not missing anything special.
Its the headache hawk if that’s what your looking for
It’s not nighthawk, it’s you go night night hawk
@@BananaMaster101 I don't get it.
it's broken down half the time lol
Glad 19 years later I am apart of the crew for this ride
very cool i love carowinds i went there last year. it is fun
Whenever I go ti Carowinds I never get a chance to ride this. The line is soooo long, and usually they only have one train going. Still LOVE this place🔥🔥
The line wasn’t long when I went on it the first time. Then again, it was a cloudy Wednesday while Fury’s beam was cracked, so nothing was busy.
@@LaunchRider that is true! I actually went to carowinds the other day and got to ride this! The line was pretty long but it took about 35 minutes!
I don't know how they are going to keep this running much longer. I'm a season pass holder and it breaks down multiple times almost every day. Also the line is always super long because of the ride's slow operations.
Agreed im a pass holder as well and it is the slowest rollercoaster ive ever seen dispatch in my life.
Firehawk at Kings Island suffered the same setbacks and issues. I'm shocked they've kept Nighthawk there for as long as they have. My guess is that its days are numbered by now.
@@Deadspherespare parts from firehawk are definitely helping
Looks cool
NIGHTHAWK IS AWESOME
?
YESSS
The original colors are so much cooler
Yeah it was I love the green and black
I think carowinds is changing the theme of the ride cause i was at carowinds earlier today and while going up furys lifthill me and my dad say black and red trains for nighthawk.
Rollercoaster*
@@That_southern_kid_original black and red trains would look awesome only if Carowinds would paint the roller coaster the same
@@That_southern_kid_original cool
I rodé that on 2004 ❤
Now Nighthawk!
Here’s an idea … bring back the theming to this park…. Universal come buy this park please… (jk) 🙂
Amazing ride, but are you ever gonna add a second train?
It has a 2nd train
@@diamondjebgold9906 its never up
@@seyn1x I know. They really need to run the 2nd train. I don’t know if it’s maintenance on the train or what.
I went yesterday and it broke down earlier so it might be maintenance issues and there using one train probably because of the said maintenance the ride but the ride is fun
The ride's on its last legs. No point in accelerating the wear and tear with two trains.
Ah Carowinds used to be so themed; now it’s like going to a county fair from the fair flat rides to lack of characters, boring waiting ques, and fair food
Carowinds was owned by Paramount who treated the park like a throwaway towel. You should be thankful that Cedar Fair picked it up. You wouldn't even have a park anymore if they hadn't.
@@Deadsphere I gave your comment a thumbs up, thanks for agreeing
@@jasongenova9194 I wasn't agreeing, I was saying you're fucking crazy for complaining about a "lack of theming" from an owner who's more focused on the quality of a park than its theming.
The most annoying thing with Vekoma Flying Dutchmans is that they all suffer from the same issues. Slow dispatches, and they're unreliable. No wonder Vekoma stopped making them.
Resistance is futile!
It’s not nighthawk, it’s you go night night hawk
Carowinds don’t listen to the dumb enthusiasts. Keep this ride forever. It’s a little shaky but so what, a rattle doesn’t matter if it’s intensely forceful and fun.
And if your wondering, Carowinds is my home park and I have ridden this multiple times before. And I love it!
Except the enthusiasts know these rides and parks like the back of their hands? Firehawk at Kings Island suffered the exact same issues Nighthawk does, like all Vekoma Flying Dutchmans. Slow dispatches, unreliable, and extremely slow queue times.
Nighthawk's days are numbered since Firehawk was torn out. I'm sorry but that's the truth of the matter. Vekoma doesn't even make these anymore, so parts for them are probably pretty limited anyway. It's literally a matter of time before something breaks on this thing and Carowinds can't fix it.
A ride can't stay open forever. Most Arrow Dynamics coasters aren't standing anymore because Arrow went bankrupt ages ago. Schwarzkopf loopers are getting rarer and rarer because Schwarzkopf doesn't exist anymore. Nighthawk is probably the last Vekoma Flying Dutchman, and it will probably be torn down before the end of the decade.
@@Deadsphere exept the fact that that they are using parts from fire hawk to help nighthawk. The track doesn’t have any issues. It’s the trains. They can also always get modern gen vecoma Flying trains for nighthawk if the current trains get out of hand. The main reason of the ride breaking down is when it doesn’t fold the trains down or up. Also nighthawk is not the last Flying Dutchman. Batwing exist too you know
@@diamondjebgold9906 And what are you gonna do when those parts from Firehawk are done? You just further proved my point that this ride's done for.
@@Deadsphere when they run out of fire hawk parts and they run in to something they can’t repair modern gen vecoma makes flying trains that would work for this ride. Why do you want the ride gone anyway?
