I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE rollercoasters and waterslides still at my age(44) but I went down the storm surge for the first time this year and thought I was going to die. I guess the long walk up all those steps made me forget just how high it actually was but 4 seconds down and I literally thought I was going to drown. My 15 year old daughter who is a lifeguard went before me and all I thought was "thank goodness she's waiting for me bc I'm going to pass out.". I never could catch my breath bc of all the water up my nose. My worst fear is drowning and it's the only time in my life I thought I was going to bc it never ended. Every time I ran out of air from holding my breath and instinctively tried to gasp for another, more water went in my lungs. I will NEVER ride that slide again. We went the 2nd week of August, on a Tuesday and not once did we have to wait in line for 1 coaster. I bet we rode 40 different rides. I don't get why people go on weekends. I'd never wait more than 15 mins for a ride. My all time favorite was always Thunder Road bc I'm crazy over wooden coasters so I was upset when it was torn down but I still love Hurler and Intimidator. We even did the Slingshot and OMG I would have rode again if not for the price. That's something everyone should try at least once.
I love the fury, the drop for me is pretty easy so I can put my hands up the humps get me, you just feel some Gs and it pulls you down so every time I get butterflies in my stomach. Very good ride still and I’m happy to ride it every time I go
I could personally go on storm surge, and I was 7! but when me and my mom went to the top, my mom just chickened out and I was a bit scared… I could breathe normally but my stomach was like “nope” and I just screamed so much, but I would ride it again 2 years later (right now)
I have been on mountain gliders but have not been on Fury. I agree that the mountain gliders are scary, my dad would always try to go as high as he could and I got scared out of my mind. I hope I can finally build up the confidence to ride Fury this season.
I've been on the fury before and let me tell you, when it's your first time and after the first drop - adrenaline - but it's a very fun roller coaster to ride just don't go when it's a busy day 😉
@@juliannarotellini8100 I have actually been on it many times now and you are very right about the first time and busy days. It is my favorite roller coaster there by far!
Dude, the first time I rode storm surge bodies, I almost immediately lost the position, and then thinking those tiny holes in the slide were gonna be the last light I'd see. Yea, I'm not riding Storm Surge Bodies anymore.
I felt absolutely nothing on electrospin. It kinda bored me because my seat hardly did any spinning. I backed to backed fury in the rain, sure it’s mildly uncomfortable but as long as I got glasses with a strap to keep my eyes from getting hit, I actually quite enjoy the rain hitting in my face strangely enough.
I'm going there in a couple weeks, I just want to have a good scary experience although I haven't ridden a serious rollercoaster before. Edit: I have been to carowinds now, I've been on the intimidator 4 times, the fury 325 4 times, copperhead strike 2 times, and so much more! Going again tommorow and good luck to others who go to carowinds, happy coasting.
I agree with you on mountain gliders because me and my friends were just there recently and we're on that ride it was windy at first but once we got going it started getting windy and we ab flipped we both say our life's flash before our eyes 😂

Electro spin is less scary than the fury. Its just plain fun. But idk about repetitively going on it back to back tho. I dont really know how to wrap my head around that. Ppls impressions. Actually, just yesterday a class I am in took a trip to Carowinds and it would be my first ever theme park, which is kind of silly as I am 14. The group I was in wanted to ride roller coasters, while I only wanted to ride the swings and do bumper cars. The first ride my group went to was a roller coaster called After Burn. I was not going to do it, but my friend convinced me. I instantly had a surge of regret as the roller coaster ascended in what seemed to be the heavens. I started screaming and begging to be let off. I calmed down when it got to the peak and I thought it wasn't going to be so bad. Then the ride just dipped straight down causing me to pass out. I woke up at the end of the ride when my friend called my name. Me being stupid decided to ride 2 more times before we went to go get lunch. The third time was something that makes me never look at roller coasters again. As we were going up the incline, I was chill and preparing myself before the drop. But right was we got to the peak... I heard my seat make a noise. It was a very subtle *click*. My seat went up, and the only thing holding me in was the flimsy little harness. I was panicking and trying to come to terms with my death during the ride, until I felt the screeching of the tracks as we came to a halt. I cried and started screaming and cursing. I tried to tell an operator that the seat is messed up, but the laughed alongside my friends. That was my first and last ever roller coaster.
