- filming these day of plant things is tiring but i definitely get a lot done! you guys always thank me for making videos that help you be more productive with your plant chores, but honestly making these videos for you all do the same for me. to be honest i probably wouldn't get half the things i get done on a weekly basis if i didn't have to film for youtube, so it's a win-win situation in my book 🕺🏽🕺🏽
in this video i finally make a trip back to vandula farms nursery after their winter closure and show you some of the goodies they have in store! i also redo my kitchen plant arrangement, try to fill in a really leggy philodendron via notching and also tackle a not-so-fun plant chore that i dread doing 🥲

Your planter-washing system is genius. The strainer, the tub in the sink. I am absolutely replicating that ! I avoid this chore at all costs I think because I need a better system.
I usually buy reptile coco products, maybe they rinse that before packaging since they have sensitive skin. I haven’t had any issues but I do have the environmental advantage. Just thoughts if you ever wanna try coco again 💜💜💜

I rinse my pots in the sink just enough to get the chunks out then I run them through the dish washer. Haven’t had any problems with it yet. Works like a charm.

Cute new plants. It’s a great idea to add into your cactus garden. And I love the pot.
I use a coco coir called CANNA coco, it comes prewashed and buffered. but it does not come in the long fiber coco that you like to use, unfortunately! Might be worth it to switch away, no drainage will accumulate all of those salts, and coming pre-loaded with salts doesn't help. Lets hope the experiment gives some answers!

I buy buffered coco that’s got Trichoderma and perlite added as well. I am from Australia though but surely you’d have something similar.

Leave the zenzee where it is and put the new hawarthea in the center between the two dark geeen things as a contrast between the two greens.
I have recently buffered coco for trying out coco-moss-poles. With unbuffered coco you can experience afaik cal-mag or other deficiencies. So if you think those spots don't look like any known deficiency then it's not from the unbuffered coco 🤔
Could definitely be a virus or something that came with the coco but shouldn't be due to it being unbuffered 👍
Btw buffering is super easy! At least for me I let it soak for 8h in a cal-mag solution and the strained out the substrate from the container. Did it once again at let it dry

I have a similar situation with my gloriosum except it's growing over the edge so I need to also repot and shift if back in the rectangular pot. Since I'm going to be disrupting it instead of notching the stem can I just cut entirely through the leafless portion assuming it's got roots too and just repot those sections next to/alongside the end with growth?
I don't mind washing vessels as much as I mind putting them away.
I saw a video about notching a flf. They notched out a wedge shaped piece and used keike paste and didn’t use the Mylar sheet. Would that work in your plants?

I was just wondering where pudge is? We never hear him tip tapping around on the floor anymore. And out of curiosity how old is Pudge? He seems to be in great shape from what I remember.
I don’t think they had belly bands when I was pregnant. But are you supposed to wear on top of your clothes? Not underneath? I would think they would grab onto your belly easier

Don’t do a natural birth…I had my first via “natural birth”. That was rough! I had to have a c-section the 2nd time around because I was expecting twins.
