I hopped in to see what detachment it was. I figured I would see something like Renegade Raiders and would quickly leave. Deceptors though.........Hydra Dominatus!
Have to say that I am disappointed in the book cover not being different from the old one. Disappointed in Pact as not being more daemonkin oriented with a word bearer type thing like all the others having something to do with a legion. To be honest, possessed were never really used much and now they reduce them even more, makes no sense unless they upped their AP to -2 then I can get it. Should had had a strat for daemons or daemokin also.
Then, play your possessed with Renegade Raiders, you'll enjoy again tour AP-2. Or debuff your opponent with your lone operarive Terminator Sorcerer for AP-2 and massive charge of Deceptor Possessed coming from reserves.
@@maxchapuis6256 deceptor have nothing good to offer. Reserve won’t get you close with a charge since your 6” side entry counts as advance and move. You only get charge which is 2(3)-12(13) (mop) average 7”. Although with renegade you can enhance mop and possessed with scout 6” get cover. Then move 9+ adv 2-7(4). Charge (3-13)(7) reavers charge +1 charge. 21” not including the scout. However, even with that which is good. Possessed lost dev to once a game and mop lost fnp. Most people don’t like it even if the points drop a bit.
@@erikwhitney7403 I mean, there is a stratagem that permits you to make a charge with +3. +4 with a MoP. Kind of good no ? However I agree with you upon the fact that Deceptors are lacking of punch. Still need to test them anyway.
Speaking about possessed and renegade raiders, I will tomorrow test a squad of Possessed with their MoP inside a Land Raider. I think that if I can let my land raider survive and reach an objective, I can potentially have a tremendous threat and projection with my possessed. Land Raider is hardly playable, in this detachment, we have armour of contempt. On the paper, it gives a lot of flexibility, let's see in the reality tomorrow.

I love the Deceptor's mechanics, but everyone can notice at first glance that the deployment of the Eldar crushed the army rule of the Deceptor player (which is : infiltration for X units). This army rule is very funny but seem so easy to counter with infiltration and eventually scout mooves.
It is insanely easy to counter. It’s basically going to be like playing without a detachment rule in 50% of games. Add in the fact that certain armies you DONT want to infiltrate against because of their play into CSM, and you now only get full use of your infiltrate in maybe 20-30% of games. It’s FAR less good than it looks on paper, and gives you no passive bonus once the game starts.
I love how units on the center just died from a heat attack after failing a gambit 😂

I’m curious how the cultists deployed in a conga line. Have to be set up with 2” of at least 2 models with that large of a unit. No more long lines of guys anymore.
Would you still take fire dragons with fuegan being impossible to buy (assuming you don't have one)?
I've kitbashed a fuegan using various parts. I've ran him with and without the dragons and I almost prefer him seperate. Dragons in a get better with him but they and he both do pretty well without each other. He's more versatile by far.

I'm looking to start playing WH40K and had a rules questions.
At 46:05 (ua-cam.com/users/live54ChJ9j1nnc?si=36zvc_75HUJiX9QI&t=2766), he asks him what units he has in the transport. Are you required to tell your opponent which and how many Infantry units are in a transport? It seems like it would give you a big tactical advantage (and make logical sense) that your opponent wouldn't know what's in them.

Was an interesting watch. Just want to put my 2c in on channel interactions for what it’s worth. I think the whole paying for gambit meme thing is getting a bit off-putting. I want to see how these games play out, as it is a “Tactics” channel, and forcing a gambit for no reason kind of ruins the game / experience for me a bit. I know it’s a funny meme thing, and if does generate $120 for the channel, but it’s not exactly good tactics to throw a game away on a pointless gambit.
You’re trying to show off a new codex with these streams, and having every game be decided by some memelord forcing a gambit isn’t a great way to do that imo.
It’s not something we will do every week and we will introduce a chat plays stream where things like that will be expected and just more of a chill joke game. However I will say. Knowing that I may/likely have to gambit forces to me play better to deny primary and secondary. I’d say it’s actually improved me as a player and how I think about the end turns of the game.

@@VanguardTactics cause whenever I watch 40k play I’m reminded of Game Workshops desire to burn 40k and every other property they own to the ground. They already told us if you don’t think their were ever female custodies, then we are racist and sexist and not to play their game. Don’t forget how the writer for the 40k books wished death upon our families and Us, if we don’t go along with their perversion of the lore. That’s why it’s depressing, but I enjoy watching everyone play, even after GW went psycho on everyone
