Brad. You’re the best claw hammer player of this generation. How you keep that rhythm so tight while double thumbing and hitting so many melody notes is mesmerising to a fellow banjo player. Love to see you in the UK at some point
You have my vote Brad, very nice rendition of one of my favorite tunes. I play it on fiddle and mandolin. I also attended most of the SB Old Time Fiddler's festivals from 1978-87, when I lived there.
Dr. Franz Mesmer would be proud, Brad, because this performance is absolutely mesmerizing. 😳 Love. It. The energy, the creativity, the musicality... 🤯 You’ve mastered the the 3 Ts: tone, timing, and taste. I’m going to try my darnedest to steal a few lines of this. Wish me luck! 🤦🏻♂️ 🪕
Thanks Brad. Can you tell me, is that banjo you are playing a custom made unit? The neck looks somewhat wider than most commercial instruments I have seen. At one time I even considered making my own because the custom necks were so expensive. I like the wider neck. Also can you tell me is that somewhat of a melodic style of playing? You sound awesome. Thanks for any info.

I read about Mississippi Sawyer in Paulette Jiles’s book Simon the Fiddler and wanted to hear it. Thank you for playing it for me. I loved it.
An incredible rendition let’s give it up for this man please.
Wow! OK--guess it's time to throw my banjo in the fire. Outstanding!
Throw My Banjo In The Fire is in double-C, right?

Winner winner!
That is absolutely phenomenal playing! I've just ordered your course on True Fire and look forward to studying with you.
Great version. I like the alternate positions you use. Especially up the neck. Nice job. Love it.
Man, you play extremely well! I enjoy all of your video clips a lot.
Wow, I enjoyed that one a lot!
Insane!
Your version is golden, thanks for playing it for us.
What a beautiful melody on a gorgeous sounding instrument !
That IS a gorgeous sounding instrument! Is that a Rickard banjo?
@@nicholashopkins9707 It’s an Enoch “Dobson” model. I play a Rickard “Dobson” and love it. Brad’s is definitely an Enoch. Both great instruments.
@@erstwhilerambler do you know who makes that tailpiece??? I have a tradesman I put a Dobson tone ring on and would love that tailpiece too?!?
@@banjercat I don’t know for sure, but it looks like maybe a Pisgah tailpiece. They’re definitely worth checking out.
Your time keeping skills are impressive. Excellent tone as well!
You've got my vote! ;-)
Bfeautiful tune, could you tell me how your banjo is tuned. Thank you
Woohoo, you got my vote!
Absolutely wonderful!
Love this!
Yeah Brad!
