there is a computer on fire somewhere right now trying to render that
It actually costs no fps, the LUT that executes these changes actually removes some effects (like vignette) and adds nothing. Not even a reshade involved.
@@Tripnotik25 Depth of Field blur can be pretty expensive, and it's just annoying because it's impossible for the computer to know what I'm looking at without eye tracking.
All computer monitors should have eye tracking.
@@budthecyborg4575 couldn't you just fix the depth of field blur with just disabling movement blur, when V is driving obviously there is blue enabled.
@@budthecyborg4575 DOF and motion blur are from the game not the mod. All nova lut does is change lighting and environment (also responsible for lighting conditions).
4090 go reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee !!!!!
This is the first time in my entire life "hyperealistic" graphics actually made me question whether it was real or not.
The motion blur kinda killed it though. Walking around the vehicles was the best part.
Genuinely didn't believe it was real at first, very impressive
Camera movement was the first thing I noticed.
@@hipunpun Well it wasnt real :>
Second for me, there was an UNRECORDED trailer that was insane as well
Hey there, it's me, creator of Nova LUT. First, I have to say that your reaction to this could be the best testimonial for my mod that I could ask for! I also just wanted to clarify that LUTs like this don't have any performance impact over the base game. The ReShade effects like DoF will be the thing causing performance loss. To get the exact visuals like the ones in the video, you can use Nova LUT with ReShade curves adjustments or just use Edge LUT (which is based on the ReShades). ☺
Awesome
So you're saying that this exact video can be reality for "everyone" without massive fps impacts? as far as graphics are concerned
@@TehMafiaTV Not the exact look but pretty close.

You actually don’t need better hardware. Software will do the job literally infinitely better than hardware can ever do. Although software is ran in hardware, current standard hardware is sufficient enough to run any kind of software. Just wait till virtualized geometry and textures become the norm, they are the new form the traditional LOD process. they allow for the possibility of infinite graphical details. software is the future, not hardware.
The rtx 9090 ti would run this at like 340 fps at 4k max.
Funnily enough, this is just a reshade LUT mod. The blur and DoF is what sells the realism.
I thought it was the ray tracing, I think cyberpunk 2077 is the only game that currently uses the technology at its best. Rendering many light sources was always a nightmare for devs, if you see scene with 20 light sources less than half are being rendered, the rest is just the model and texture. Hopefully ray tracing and AI predictions (DLSS) will make this standard in future gaming
@kelloggsflakes2286 Metro Exodus Enhanced is another contender. They really push the ray tarcing on that game and it shows. Absolutely gorgeous.
Yes, it has much better color grading than the original game which have oversaturated colors, but it also has path tracing.
I remember in Skyrim if you used more than 4 sources of light on a screen it started flickering. Here it looks insane

That was a tech demo for the PS5, and this probably required an overclocked 4090
No player models were shown, or gunplay, no explosions or crashes.
All of those things probably look the same as usual, making the brilliant car models look somewhat out of place.
Also, they didn't suddenly zoom out quickly to look at the whole city driving around in real time from a quarter mile away in real time.
Shit does look incredible though.
It has a heck of a lot less pop in, more world consistency, higher model definition (instead of shiny shaders) and generative world creation....
This is just "add more shiny shaders onto a smoking pile of crap engine"
@@SyntheticFuture That's why they are moving away from this engine. However, it's still impressive how good cyberpunk looks even without shaders. For an open world game, it's pretty good looking, probably the only thing i don't like is NPCs emitting light so they are visible in shadows, and thus it makes NPCs look a bit weird. Still, ammount of details is so good that i can forgive popping issues and some textures being low quality.
in motion, it loses a lot of the effect, because you cant really focus enough to see extra detail. so some sections look better than others. but there was one clip (not shown here) where they ride a bike through a canyon and it DOES still look photo-realistic. the rock walls look like footage. its getting crazy.
honestly thats really just down to the compression on youtube, been doing a full playthrough with these mods of phantom liberty and have had no issues driving around and still seeing detail. It's crystal clear

i've seen hyperrealistic graphics like this probably since 4 years ago. but none of them implemented into real video game.
because these are most likely prerendered footages. There is no current generation, commercially available hardware which could handle this level of graphical fidelity in real time.
thats because devs tends to optimized games and removes other effects. this along with other videos you see are modded and pushes the game graphics even more

Imagine when we have the PC and/or headset to run this in VR..
One of the reasons gaming is dying is that ppl (mainstream gamers) focus too much on graphics so companies spend most of the budget on making the game pretty.
Nah its too many chefs in the kitchen and corporate bureaucracy holding things down. Terrible leadership both in the design side and the corporate side of the game. If you want add something to the game its gotta go through chain of command and stupid meetings. The red tape holding all the good shit back. Look at Larian, Arrowhead, and CDPR. Larian barely has any red tape theyre all creatives trying to put the best shit out there for Baldur's Gate 3. Arrowhead did whatever the fuck they wanted and got us Helldivers 2 they brought the fucking DEMOCRACY. CDPR although the game shipped like crap cause of bad QA but the game itself was fun as hell with story that brought you to tears.
They hardly even make the games look pretty outside of trailers. Gameplay and content trumps graphics every time.
@SkeleTonHammer You really don't know that the budget for most of these games goes to marketing. Yes many of the visuals have a lot of people but budget isn't the problem for these games. If that was the case, overwatch 2 wouldn't have cancelled PVE. Shit takes too long and gets watered down because of damn red tape taking long means means more money and more watering down from the original vision. Games literally have an internal limit on how graphically beautiful a game can be.
This is kind of scary. Thinking about the exponential rate our technology keeps advancing is raising the hairs on my neck.

It's surprising how Cyberpunk bounced back and now also has one of the coolest mods around.
FPS so smooth that even smooth brains became even smoother.
Modders can make graphics better than developers.
It's because modders do it as passion projects and have no deadlines compared to what devs does.
Some modders think they're better at being an indie devs and end up being a failed promise kick starters for failing to meet a deadline.
Look up skyrim nolvus.. the way modders made that old 10yr plus old game look look like something that came out recently
@waryth4475 No, it's because they aren't releasing a game that is only able to run on a 4090, during a time where only the 3090 exists (cyberpunk 2077 released in 2020), which is owned by less than 1% of their playerbase. There went zero thought into the comment we're replying to...
@@DBTHEPLUGThey also weren't releasing a working game

Plenty of filter tricks for the video. But the best part is when it gets back to the game itself at the end and its basically the current graphics with lighting changes and rain.
Well yes, lighting is probably the most important part of making a game look realistic. What did you expect?
Lighting is a big factor maybe like 60% but there's something more important than that. I can't exactly pinpoint it but if you look when he sat down on the bike you instantly know that this isn't real. Although the lighting is great this isn't how things look in real life this underpass feels very game-ish for example.
@@KenseiShiro That was the unrealistic DoF/Motion Blur/Chromatic Aberration. They need to be toned down massively but then you'd notice how everything is too crisp and clean and your brain will start screaming uncanny valley at you.
what do you think is the hardest thing to render genius?
I am ready to never leave my house again.
That is what people call "Next Gen" and what the fans are were expecting.
Now remember that CDPR dropped this game engine in favor of Unreal 5 because of what it can do.
Then remember that Bethesda is still using the Creation engine and laugh. :)
I used to be a die hard Elder Scrolls fan, and i don't even want ES6 anymore. I have 0 hope for that game/company.
I still think the drop for Unreal 5 is the best decision, cause the Photorealistic mode made for Unreal Engine 5 would probably be easier to create with so many devs working on that engine.
to be fair a lot of what makes cyberpunk so graphically impressive, outside of these mods that is, is because of the ray reconstruction which is new experimental tech. CDPR was the first to ever use it in a game in the 2.0 patch, so its not surprising the already impressive looking game looks fantastic with it.
They also only really switched to unreal because RED was a giant pain in the ass to work with, not necessarily because of something like graphics. Its the reason we only got 1 DLC for 2077 instead of 2/3.
this is such a dishonest take, could bethesda do better?sure, but comparing the 2 is just dishonest, cyberpunk is one city, with literaly no objects to interact with, bethesda games are huge with milions of small objects in the world you can loot, move around in a 3d world, its why every house is a loading screen
Extremely sad and dumb to drop this engine. Unreal all looks like the same game.

Yea it is cool, the lighting mods wont hurt performance though. its the 4k texture mods with PT and RT maxed out thatll make a 4090 break a sweat.😂
A big part of photorealism like this is the color and contrast settings.
RL is a lot more gray with often uncomfortably high contrast compared to games, at least for something you have to watch on a screen.
I like it though, now just add a cyberpunk filter on top that makes the neon pop and maybe some film grain so that it looks like Blade Runner.

This is what Next Gen should be. We need that jump that incites hype for future games.
Unreal Engine 5 is that step up. It's just that most games that are developed using UE5 are either set for next gen of consoles or they're releasing around the lowest common denominator of their release platforms (the series S which is just a juiced up, modern XB1). There's always a lag around console generations when it comes to tech in games.

The beginning you can see its struggling to render, thats why the guy is just stepping slowly towards the vehicle, the gameplay footage isnt anywhere near as high quality. But it's still amazingly good, just the backgrounds are off. Now if you could SLI 3090s together this might actually be playable without a supercomputer.

Real paradox - publishers are forcing developers to make hundred of safe sequels, trequels, quadriquels, spin-offs, remasters, remakes - people buy the same games every time. Tons of soulless boring ai generated "games" with shitty optimisation and goofy gameplay - people still buy it. Look at the mobile games. 99% of mobile games is a pay 2 win grind thrash. But how many billions do people put in this garbage every year? The answer is simple - the larger a group of people participates in any field of activity, the more there will be a layer of shit-eaters in it. Developers, publishers and shareholders are betting on them.
Probably the same people that say that monetization has gotten out of hand while the industry collectively transitioned from predatory lootboxes & playerbase-splitting DLCs in full priced games, to a cosmetic item shop & battle pass in full priced games.
And they still managed to make it more optimized than the game release date lol

This IS what they should look like, but unfortunately you have to take the amazing looking visuals with what would very likely be terrible performance and an optimization nightmare for most pc builds.
Also. Things like ENB mods and photo realistic mods have existed for years, but in the past they're literally just designed for screenshots or small videos. They weren't designed to be used to play the games with and if you did, you definitely needed a beast of a rig for that time to handle it.
The same thing would be true here, I can't imagine the cost it would take for a system to run *that* smoothly, it's certainly not something most consumers could reasonably manage. Game companies can't even get far less pretty games to run optimally, imagine them trying to get results like THIS. XD
