Awesome video as usual! Thank you for being so thorough by including pinouts, descriptions, etc!
I just got a 2023 Rock Creek Pathfinder and was stunned it just had a basic flipper mirror.. so this vid will come in handy when I get an auto-dimming mirror :)
Congrats on your 23 Pathfinder! I like the look of the new design, very nice.
Follow the video. Super easy. I purchased the mirror (used) and 2 wiring harnesses for under 100 bucks.
what a great video ! informative and really usefull ! hopefully a fog bumper video comes soon too ! i have a nissan rogue too and im learning a lot with all your videos thanks
Nice ..i had been considering doing something similar but forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder. Might have been better to buy the additional female plug and save any possible problems with the t-taps down the road. I notice you didn't use any inline fuses on the power wires either. If you're going to be adding more accessories you might want to consider the addition of 2 small fuse boxes ( constant power & ignition power) off that manufacturer option plug and then run any accessory wiring to those additional fuse boxes and keep the oem fuse box clean. I ended up doing that but finding space for them might be an issue.
That accessory connector is fused at the fuse box, but you can install another inline fuse for extra safety if you want. That connector will be used if you install any OEM electronic accessories. The gauge of the wires on that connector is not very thick so I wouldn't put any high current devices on that connector. You are correct about keeping the fuse box clean if you do connect to the accessory connector.
Do you have a review of your radar detector
Here is the unboxing review: ua-cam.com/video/5btla34bt5E/v-deo.html
So the old mirror you use a screwdriver to unclip it but new one uses a screw, I assume that the screw just tightens onto the button and there isn’t a button with a threaded hole for that screw?
Yes, the new mirror uses a set screw to secure the mirror onto the metal button. The button does not need to have any threads as the screw tightens against it.
Since the home link mirror is connected to a constant 12v source, can a thief easily break into your vehicle to easily gain access to your garage without needing to turn on the vehicle?
All factory Homelink mirror uses constant 12V for the garage opener function. The idea behind it is after you pull into your garage, you can shut off the engine, and be able to close the garage. If you parked your car outside, and someone decides to smash your window, then yes they can open the garage. But reality is if a thief really wants to steal something, they will gain entry with or without a Homelink mirror. If you want, you can wire it up to ignition only.
How does it connect to the home ?
Do you have video for 2024 Nissan Rouge? Does OEM mirror comes with all i need if i buy from Nissan and will it have install instructions?
If you buy the Nissan OEM mirror accessory, it will come with everything you need.
I’m having a tough time finding a nitro with the correct mount, any suggestions?
OMG the Nissan car is built like LEGOS.
Is this the same procedure just to install the anti glare mirror?
I am guessing you mean the auto dimming feature on the mirror. This mirror I installed has the auto dimming feature, so the procedure is the same.
I’m honestly surprised that there is not a oem connecter siting under the cover by the rear view mirror, to were you just buy a mirror and conect the oem connector and your done
Are you considering to upgrade your sound system? Maybe change the speakers an add a subwoofer...
I don't have any plans to upgrade the speakers right now. The stock sound system is alright even though it can use some extra bass. So not right now. Thanks for asking.
Hey, can you share the link for the mirror on ebay? I click on the one you posted, but just take me to ebay and not to the mirror you bought.
The mirrors sold on Ebay are usually one off used item. I can't specify one specific link for a mirror since once sold, it's no longer available. Find one for a Nissan car with Homelink function and it will fit your Nissan car.
Thanks for the video. I did this 8 years ago on my wife’s new 2016 Rogue. Ha - I’m now 8 years older and just got her a new 2025 Rogue Platinum and couldn’t believe it didn’t have home link. So asked the dealer the upgrade cost and it’s $500! Looks like I will be doing this myself again.
Do you happen to have the instructions on how to program the mirror to the door?
Thanks
