Anyone whos going to do the "Retrospective Run Around (JP)", pay attention on the way, getting "Gold Pieces" for another achievment, which is really easy, and you can complete while you do this at the time. :)
lol you make these seems like these are easy but IMO many of these aren't easy or take a huge amount of time, like map completion, but hey i appreciate all the info and will try to do these. I had no idea the Lion's Arch bug hunting one existed and i have multiple level 80's, never heard of it.
You know what, I'm gonna say something for all the new guys coming in looking for information with it. The biggest tip is to stick with it. Little by little you build your Tyria mastery up and then one day you'll find yourself done. You won't need to touch it ever again.
In this game "little by little" would eventually end up with passing it to your grandkids. I have never seen such a deliberate delay in the process in any MMO. And I played L2C1. Here, even the most basic things that are given in other MMOs are offered to you to grind for a couple of weeks. I'm not even talking about fly mounts, which are not fly mounts, but different variations of gliders, at prices like “go buy gems and exchange them for gold,” or “go fool, farm it for a couple of months, this will be your second job.” And in general, the developers are rare perverts in many ways in terms of game design in this one. There are so many things in the game that could have been simplified for the player long ago. But they prefer to take long-known mechanics and make a mess out of them to suit their taste. And this is all because otherwise you will have to create content, and not bore the player with the difficulty of obtaining basic things. 🤦♂
I agree these aren't all "easy." The exterminator takes you into a difficult maze area of Lion's Arch, and the Diving achievement makes you do a pretty difficult jumping puzzle.
Holy shit. As a pretty hardcore player who kinda dropped off shortly after HoT came out and now finally having time to sink back in and only have 1 glider mastery unlocked. This guide was fucking amazing. Mostly cause the “guide-caption” and links provided. Fuckin A man. I’d buy you a beer if I could
Yea, that's why I quit years ago. I don't mind a few obscure side quests in my MMORPGs, but Guild Wars 2 takes it to the extreme. Almost everything you need to do involves these things and it gets quite annoying. When i quit again, this will be one of the reasons. This kind of stuff is suited for single player games.... but again, I don't mind a few. Just not this many.
I got a question... I just finished the main story, I'm level 80 and bought the three expansions. Do I need to do all these things you show in the video (and more small things like that) in order to build my mastery rank? So XP now is useless? Please someone clarify this to me, as if it is the way I think, I kinda regret buying the expansions, as I like leveling up, not doing small things to get rewards that I eon't even use (maybe)
These are my suggestions. There are many ways to earn mastery points. Xp is used to train masteries before buying them with mastery points. Xp can also be used to gain spirit shards to make end game gear and other crafts.
This was a very helpful video! Still a bit confused tho. What are the silver mastery point icons that show up on the map. I never seem to kno how to find those or reach those what those are for?
When you do find them, they are a glowing mastery point icon in the world you can click on to just gain a mastery point. Very useful. Central Tyria has nine, HoT and PoF have loads and loads, but only for their specific mastery tracks.
For the record if anyone reads this in the future, some of the mastery points you see on the map ARE insights, but they’re insights that only exist during living world stories so you can’t actually grab them from the open world itself even though the icons show. It’s a bit annoying tbh.
I know its a long time off, but season 2 doesn't have mastery points beyond a few niche things he's mentioned. It was implemented before mastery was a thing and any mastery points with it were retroactively added. There are 16 Mastery points in the story, 8 which are easy and the rest are just "all the achievements" stuff.
Trying to get this done without doing Fractals seems near impossible. I need 3 more mastery points to be done. I'd think I could do that with the legendaries in the Silverwastes, but only 2 have ever spawned for me. Never see the Tormenter or Annihilator (despite spending hours camping their forts).
Does that mean everytime your new chracter finished personal story and kill zhaitan, you will get 8 mastery points? If i do that for 5 characters, will i get 8x5=40 mastery points?
So everyone has to seriously do all the diving goggles of each map? or is this certain maps? And it would had been nice if you had listed any other methods of gaining a mastery point unless this is literally all of them.
I imagine that I will get flack for this....but...as much as I love the game I find the amount of hoops you have to jump through to get your character "maxed" with all the masteries to be just cruel. 30+ golden badges for 1 point? 100s of locations, POIs, annoying puzzles for 1 point? I don't find any of it fun, to the contrary I find it annoying. I have 5 characters at 80 with near or MAXed crafting and I will no longer play this game because I cannot deal with such mindless hoops. If you like it....more power to you; I cannot do it.
Such remarkable material here. I found a book with comparable content that was life-changing. "Dominating Your Clock: Strategies for Professional and Personal Success" by Anthony Rivers
Guide-ception? I cant work that meaning out Exception? , Contraception? , Misconception? Interception? Photoreception? I jusr cant grasp what you were going for But i do appreciate the guide, so thank you ❤
play-on from inception, a movie where the characters go into dreams within dreams. He used it here because he kept mentioning the separate guide videos in the description. A guide to more guides.
Shoot 50 bug > pick up 30 lost coin > dive 38 locations WHAT IS THE MEANING OF FUN TO YOU ? All this shit is impossible without a guide and even with it it's sooo stupidly long. I love gw2 for the no quest part but sometimes having a collection or something else stupid to do like this isn't fun at all
It's bad game, when you have to play with wiki opened all the time and with tons of guides. This is just bad game design - they even had to bake wiki to core game.
Just completed the dive master... I’ve got some words for the creator of that one jumping puzzle with the steam things💀
YES. Just raged for over an hour on this one. Evilest design in all of gaming.
You can skip the whole puzzle with griffon
@@Thurkzs I couldn't skip it with skyscale... I don't think.
That bug mission in Lion's Arch made me want to blow my brains out

Thanks for this guide; I got my 49 Central Tyria mastery points done a while back. This video certainly helped me out with them.

Awesome guide for a casual player like myself. Much appreciated!
I agree these aren't all "easy." The exterminator takes you into a difficult maze area of Lion's Arch, and the Diving achievement makes you do a pretty difficult jumping puzzle.
??? You dont get a mastery point for getting the Lost Badges, u also need the Golden Lost Badge.
As a returning player this will be amazing so sent this to my email for later use come December :) An wanted to say thank you after watching this :).
i would never add jumping puzzles to a fun guide to anything lmao
Quite a few people like jumping puzzles. If you don't skip it and go to another MP
@@Unstopapple No, he's right. Jumping Puzzles are worse than the Nazis.

Triple Worm? Three times? Guess I'm out then...
Masteries were an aweful addition to this game. Thanks for making the pain and tedium a bit easier!
My major problem is that freakin' notification that keeps popping up when you complete a mastery bar that you can't disable.
This whole mastery point sytem based on obscure achievements is really putting me off this game :x

The karka is not easy, especially for people who are new to the game. It took almost an hour to complete. #43 karka will be a struggle.
wow. exactly what i needed. Thanks so much!
Tyrian Masteries are soooo tedious
That Dive Master jumping puzzle is awful!
We've never managed to do it 🙄
"just a matter of..." smh this crap was hard LMAO

The best Tyria mastery points guide. Thank you!
so... can we do that jumping puzzles with springer mount?
Jumping Puzzles don't allow the use of mounts
@@gustavoschiller6852 thank you :)
what about living story s2 didt hear you mention thats tho it cost gems for that

Great vid, thanks.
Do you get mastery points for your personal story on all your chars or only on the first one you do the personal story with?
You can only earn any given mastery point once per account, and all mastery unlocks you earn are account wide.
Completing personal story only gives 1 mastery now :(
Also you didn't consider ride mastery track which is needed to get to the maximum of 278
If you could do one for each mastery zone, that would be awesome! I know a bunch of friends that could make good use of something like this.
woWw soo MUCH WORK! but to unlock masteris even after you have PICKED THEM UP you have to go to start dlc heart of or fire rigght!?
I guess the mastery point is gained after completing ALL maps in central tyria, not individual zones.
It is yeah :)
When a developer is incompetent and doesn't know how to make the game fun and engaging he creates time sinks like this
lost badges alone doesn't give you the mastery point, you need the golden one too
Does that mean everytime your new chracter finished personal story and kill zhaitan, you will get 8 mastery points? If i do that for 5 characters, will i get 8x5=40 mastery points?
You only get them the first time through!
The hatchlings remind me of Zelda lol. The golden skulltulas
