After starting my 1991 ford f250, I turn on the headlights, noticed the brights were on... Immediately after dimming them I smelled burning electrical and the headlights go out... What a mess... First I do an alternator, then a right window motors, then a radio... Now this mess.
I'm trying to wire this same connector I have a few colors that don't match also I have 10 wires coming from the truck but connector is only 9 any idea why or what the wires that don't match go to?
I don't know why they do it like that, because half the time the colors don't match at all and you just have to guess what's close. I'm not sure of the extra wire. What year is the truck? I might have to do a little research on that one.
FerdinandMagellan08 I ended up figuring it out thanks for the reply man. All except the dash lights aren't working now lol I'm sure I can figure that out.
Hey man hopefully you read this. My #5 fuse blows every time I turn on my turn signals. The battery needle also jumps around when engaging the turn signals. I have a 1990 f150 same color as yours. Any advice? This is driving me absolutely nuts!!
@@FerdinandMagellan08 i jist replaced the switch and now only the left one works. The right one will work unless i push the lever all the way up (initiating the right turn signal) then it blows. Im guessing a bad wire somewhere i dont know. Thanks for replying man.
This is really late, but there’s a ground inside the steering column that has to be properly connected. I replaced my turn signal switch and they still blew until I got that ground properly secured.
did it solve the problem

It sounds like your turn signal switch has gone bad. The 1986 F-150 I have did the same thing.
