  • Clips from an old video of a trip to Lewis. Great shots of a blackhouse being thatched.
Camcorder not that good - neither was the cameraman then

Andy, we have only just discovered your channel after starting to do research on a major trip we are planning to Scotland. We have been both thoroughly entertained and educated about your fine country. We were so saddened to read of your loss and we send you our deepest sympathies. Your videos will be a great legacy and an everlasting tribute. We wish you all the very best.

Howard sometimes circumstances conspire against us.
Three years ago I felt I was wrongly banned from driving because I was told I may have had a slight partial seizure - then the following year my previous camcorder went on the blink - last year after my Skye trip in June I spent the rest of the summer with sciatica and this year my dear wife Roberta passed away and I have been struggling to come to terms with that ever since

Andy - so very sorry to hear of your troubles these past years (as they say here, “getting old aint for sissies”) and especially the passing of your wife. Having been a commercial photographer for the last forty years it,s hard to find someone who will put up being used as a model for ones photos and very special when you do. I have enjoyed watching all of your videos. We are planning a visit to Scotland in a couple of years and have been using you videos to get ideas of special places to visit. Also you help tune my ear to a different ancient so I hope to be ready to “converse with the locals” when we arrive. If you choose I will look forward to your future videos.

Andy Campbell Dear Andy I am so sorry to here you lost your dear wife Roberta, it must be very hard for you at this sad time, but I'm sure she would want you to continue your wonderful video work showing off Scotland at its best and worst. All the best for a better year ahead.

My mother was born in the Isle of Lewis and I spent a great deal of my childhood there.
I understand a fair bit of gaelic
