Can't believe that was 8 months ago... feels like a lot longer with this crazy year of 2020. Hopefully the Lakers close out the Heat tomorrow night in their mamba jerseys.
Arguably the greatest! Lauded by many as the most skilled, the most competitive, the hardest worker! Running out of adjectives now, he was too gud!! So sad to see him.go so soon!! He was and always will.be my no.1 guy! Who said hes gone? Hes still right here with us!! #Mamba forever!!
Kobe had it all good looks, charisma, intelligence, multifaceted great son, brother, husband and doting father. May he and his lovely daughter and their friends Rest Peacefully 🙏💔
Agree great dad and husband I love the man as a player my goat but his parents are struggling like fuck had to sell his chip ring a don't know the circumstances but when kobe was alive he should have made sure mum was good the rest of her life
"I'll see you down the road" kobe slaps him on the back side and later came off the bench and dropped 30+ in Chicago. Kobe is the GOAT since Mj idc what advanced #'s say about Bron.
I watched this game. I video recorded it live and watched it a million times, like it was a VHS movie, learned to copy some of Kobe's steps from it and dropped it on the kids at school. Good times. Kobe, you will always be with us
EXACTLY! He was a born Legend. That young out there and doing all those things. Making his self known to the world! We all definitely see it now..We look at his whole body of work now...it's definitely a sad thing...
Farewell Kobe.... There will never be another you I'm here watching your greatest years on UA-cam and also watching your final game at the same time...
I remember this game and how pissed I was as a kid that they iced Kobe the last 18 minutes so we couldn’t see him put on a show with MJ. Rest In Peace, Kobe. Thank you for all the great memories.
Kobe just got painted in a shit narrative by the asshole media, people like Abbott. However, the players loved him because they know what's up and battled with and against Kobe. Was he ferocious and demanded a lot? Yes, but he was very well funny and kind too.
"Mr. BRYANT, would you mind signing an autograph for me...?" , said the greatest Lakers Fan Ever. CHICK HERNS predicted his career from the start. M.J. saw him as a splitting image. Jerry West loved him as a son. Shaq felt him as little brother. L.A. viewed him as role model. What more can you say
You could see how excited and passionate kobe was about playing ball and matching up with Jordan.. That post interview you could see the hunger in him to get better..
Bro you can tell how happy and excited Kobe is! He loved the game so much and worked so hard and I think he finally acknowledged all the hard work and dedication in this all-star game. His face was like a kid in a candy shop.
Man I can’t believe he’s gone. Sick to my stomach about it, and it hasn’t even set in yet. RIP to a legend both on and off of the court. Prayers to his family, the NBA community, and anyone effected by his loss. Also, prayers to family’s of the others who were killed in the tragic accident. Just as brutal for them and their families. Prayers to them as well.
I remember from the beginning I knew he would be great! No surprise he is the best even now at his age! I think Lebron would've been the best player in the league for few consecutive years by now if #24 was no longer playing. I like his dedication to the game; his passion for the game; his ability to overcome hurdles that would have brought ANY great down, and his unmatched work ethic. I remember back then there were some talk about him and Brandy, that would have been a nice couple ;)
"Of course thats a bit silly, there will be no next Michael Jordan" one of the stupidest things Bob Costas has ever said. Along with how the Washington Redskins is a racist name
callabartman If it's such a big deal on how it's "racist" then why didn't they do something about it years ago, I don't know like maybe when the team was first being made. Why are they making such a big deal about it now after the team has been around for 82 years? And what all these white people need to quit doing is quit acting like they know everything. How about ask an actual Native American what they feel about that name before you go saying anything, which some people actually have, and the majority of the Native Americans said they want to keep the name because it embraces and celebrates Native Americans. These white people need to quit taking action into stuff like this that they have no authority to do.
BOSSDONMAN Bcus there will never be a player like Michael Jordan? Sure some players might play similar to how he did, but no one will be exactly the same as him
Just seeing how much he grew from this to now is legendary. We will never forget you kobe. Your worth ethic didn’t just impact basketball but had application and impact in our lives. #mambamentality #ripkobe
This was probably the best NBA All Star game that I watched back in the day - it was a mix of the old school and the young up and coming guys like KG, Kobe, Duncan, Kidd and the likes of Jordan, Robinson, Shaq, Mutombo and ext.
I clearly remember this all-star game, particularly that move he made at 2:19 to 2:22, it made magic stand up and holler and cheer for him. Not too shabby on that 360 at 1:19..........gotta admire the guts on this guy, even back then won't back down from the g.o.a.t. (at 0:56 to 1:03)
You heard it here first... at 2:14 Kobe makes a move (on Dikembe) that Lebron would copy in the 2020 ASG (against Donovan Mitchell) to pay homage to his fallen friend. RIP Black Mamba
Crazy that Lakers had 4 All-Stars that year, and Kobe was an All-Star strater while he wasnt even starting for his team. Eddie Jones and Nick Van Exel i dont think even should have been All-Stars
Man I fucking love Michael Jordan it would be such an honor to play with him! Kobe's a lucky guy, he's great too though but Jordan is just so classy. :D
@omegagwace And you can't say Kobe sometimes don't have leadership qualities because you've never actually played with the team itself, you don't know what happens behind the scenes, on the court, etc. Your conclusion is derived from seeing how Kobe acts on the court (shooting, passing, scoring). But you don't actually know the things he does where the normal viewers wouldn't be able to see.
Even though lebron is making history with his 60 fg& 30 plus scoring streaks. It just doesn't amaze me the way Kobe bryant did with his 80 and 60 point games and those 9 straight games with 40 plus. Which nobody in the NBA will never ever do, ever again. Kobe is one of a kind.
There will never be another Michale Jordan? Well, i ve seen both and i rather see Kobe. Anyway, regardless of personal opinions, most would agree that they are the 2 best players ever. Lets enjoy Kobe while we still can.
We'll miss you Kobe.
I can't believe I just wrote this.
Damn a first 2020 comment, I miss Kobe too 💙

One of the greatest of all time. Basketball was never the same after Kobe. We miss you already and it's only day 1 of you being gone
Can't believe that was 8 months ago... feels like a lot longer with this crazy year of 2020. Hopefully the Lakers close out the Heat tomorrow night in their mamba jerseys.
It’s Been 11 months and I’m still so sad

I loved Kobe when he was young. He looks so excited and fresh. Played a great game. One of the NBA's all-time bests.

Dang, Jack Nicholson has been a Kobe supporter since the start. Lakers should give him an honorary ring or something, that man is dedicated.
This was the last year that the ASG was a true competition. In 2000, after the lockout year, the ASG became a no defense dunk fest.
