Adversity was being in a stacked team with prime shaq and Phil ? Kobe is not top 5 , but it's not like he's that much lower. He is still one of the greatest.
Also shows how much easier is to get a good fg% in 2023. You rarely if ever read of a 5/20 FG game by James these days despite being far from his physical prime. It's so much easier to get to the rim now. The 2000s were the last decade of balanced basketball with both offense and defense being played/allowed.
Kobe is my favorite, nor the GOAT, but people dismiss he played a lot when he shouldnt have, and didn't play when he should have early in his career. Kobes injuries are his fault though. He should've "load managed." Sounds weak, but he tore his ACL going way too many minutes a game at 34. Would KOBE "agree" hell no

It's a team game, when LeBron came in the League, the Lakers were turning into one of the worst teams after Shaq left, and at the end of the 2000s was when they had similar talent in their teams and Kobe beat the teams that LeBron couldn't in the PLAYOFFS at that time. After 2010, Kobe wasn't as good anymore because of his age and injury so the Heat were runaway victors as they were probably the best superteam we've ever seen (outside of the KD-Steph Warriors). Lebron won against Kobe statistically and in w collum. And he even was not in his prime or only starting his real prime. Because to me the best Bron is since 2015.
In my opinion, the best thing that ever happened to LeBron outside of genetics was the 2008 Olympics with Kobe. I think that LeBron’s trajectory before that was to finish as a top 10-15 player who had potential to push Mike but later on down he would regress and and the conversation never got close. But LeBron being competitive saw Kobe, who was leagues, miles ahead of everyone in workouts and practice, knew what he had to do. He’d have to work harder, care about his body more, and put in the work 24/7. I believe he willingly played second fiddle in those Olympics but worked hard enough to be able to be called the guy, and I think he took this into the rest of his career. It’s a testament to his mental toughness that he is still so motivated, no one doubts his work ethic on and off the court. And in my opinion he’s number 1 or number 2 all time. But I am not sure he would have been that way if it wasn’t staring him in the face that Kobe worked out and practiced harder than anyone else. Kobe was always going to be MJ lite, but LeBron is a different beast and as the oldest player in the league with the stats he has, the conversation is there and it exists. So thank you Kobe for a legacy that lives on in more ways than what’s immediately apparent.
Lmao, a lot of conjecture here. It’s already been established that it was Pat Riley’s training regiment that helped instill the physical discipline that he has perfected throughout his career. By the time Lebron played with Kobe in the Olympics, he had already been to a finals, and won a shooting title. There was actually not much separating Kobe and Lebron at this point, considering most of the former’s success came through Shaq and Phil.

Not only the skill, but the determination, fire, compassion…. And yes, facial expressions MJ had along with skill on all sides of the game, MJ in his prime probably was the best to ever do it.
AGREED.Lots of hand-checking in MJ's era, plus MJ was constantly getting hammered driving to the rim.The Pistons just threw and pounded MJ to the ground-REPEATEDLY. LOL. Hard fouls were the norm when MJ entered the nba, plus dunking on fellow players was a sign of disrespect in MJ's earilier days in the league and they'd retaliate against you most times.
Love For Both
The first sec of the video was fire already
Kobe the better skilled player and Lebron a better overall player...in other words Lebron would be the best teammate to have and Kobe would be the worst opponent to go against...2 different play style both great
Excellent take bro
Kobe was the better player but injuries and bad teams in the mid-2000s combined with awful teams in the 2010s and more injuries plus LeBron’s first superteam helped shape a winning record for LeBron. Kobe really needed to rest more to prevent injury 😪😪😪
what are you talking about, everything is explained in this video, get over it, Bron is better than Kobe in every record made
Lebron is 16-6 vs Kobe and dominated Kobe in every statistical category.
Lebron vs Kobe (22 Games)
Wins: Lebron-16, Kobe-6
Pts: Lebron-28.2, Kobe-24.6
FG%: Lebron-47%, Kobe-43%
Assists: Lebron-7.3, Kobe-5.2
Rebounds: Lebron-7.4, Kobe-5.0
Steals: Lebron-1.9, Kobe-1.1
Blocks: Lebron-0.7, Kobe-0.2
A lot of these games is from when Lebron was young and Kobe was in his prime and Lebron still dominated him.
As you can see from the stats Lebron beat Kobe most of the time and dominated him defensively and offensively in every statistical category
@@tylerclayton6081 super agree
@@tylerclayton6081 as I said in my comment Kobe’s teams were dogshit and were actually worse than Lebron’s at that point in time from fall 2004-February 2008, when they acquired Pau.
And Kobe’s per game averages were lowered quite a bit by those last few seasons with all of the injuries. I saw them play multiple times and LeBron was great but Kobe was the better player. That’s what I and many of Kobe’s peers saw night in and night out.
11:39 that looked like some motor city bad boys stuff there… TRIPLE TEAMED??? 😆
Michael Jordan my favorite player of all time but lebron my favorite current/my era
Mine too
Lebron won against Kobe statistically and in w collum.
I agree
Kobe did influence bron that’s for sure
Lmao, a lot of conjecture here. It’s already been established that it was Pat Riley’s training regiment that helped instill the physical discipline that he has perfected throughout his career.
By the time Lebron played with Kobe in the Olympics, he had already been to a finals, and won a shooting title.
There was actually not much separating Kobe and Lebron at this point, considering most of the former’s success came through Shaq and Phil.
Jordan - 100
Kobie - 99
Lebron - 98.99
😷
Ayoooooo🤣
