Someone asked about Conrad's bald spot and if Misha had pecked him so I just wanted to clear up any misunderstandings. Conrad was pecked by our female cockatiel who has since passed away. Unfortunately his feathers never grew back. This incident in the video was Misha accidentally hitting a pin feather while preening Conrad. Misha is very gentle with his brother and would never hurt him. If not I would keep them separate. Thank you to the commenter who was concerned about them. They are doing well.

I‘m curious about this… why didn‘t you seperate him from ur female cockatiel? It seems like a quite huge spot so It didnt‘t probably happen like once…
@YamiCabar They were bonded since he was a baby so it was very difficult keep them separate. He thought she was his mother and followed her everywhere.
@YamiCabar We would separate them and he would cry and cry to be with her. Also our birds are not caged when we are home so keeping him or her caged in another room was difficult and heartbreaking. He was miserable without her so we tried to manage it the best we could.
@@CockatielsandCaliforniabirds If your bird thought that’s his mother, it was the best to seperate them. My bird gave birth and we had to seperate the mother from her kids. We gave the birds when they were old enough to new owners because the mother would chase them away or even attack them. Even the father injured one of the baby bird. Nothing you can do about it now it’s nature but sometimes it‘s better to seperate even when they cry. My male bird got sad and kinda depressed when we gave his kid away but when we found him a new bird friend he got used to it. I also use a cage that can be seperated in the middle for birds that dont get along.

The grey one was pecked by another bird who has since passed away some years ago. Unfortunately his feathers never grew back. The incident in the video was just the yellow one accidentally preening a pin feather.

Have you considered whether the birds have psittachine beak and feather disease as they look generally unkempt and many birds have this. If you suspect this, please dont introduce new birds into your flock as it is highly contagious. Reusing of cages has to be after they have been sanitised multiple times
Thank you for your concern. Their recent vet visit gave both a clean bill of health. No beak and feather disease.They were both moulting at the time this was filmed so they look a little scruffy. The little grey one was born with a splayed tail and was plucked by another bird, plus he is 22 years old so that is why he appears as such, in other words, he always looks this way. I appreciate your concern but they are both healthy, older birds. 🥰🥰🥰
