I think Porcha did a great job with her tutorial. The negative comments are BS. The hack works IF done correctly. You’re gonna make a mistake or two as you’re learning a new process. If you’re not sure about a technique then practice on fabric rather than t-shirts.

Yeah those are roller marks and the lines can be worse with the more black in your design. I haven't found an efficient fix for this yet, I take a Q-tip and erase the lines where I can.

Hi Porcha! New subbie here. After watching this video and others, I decided to try this hack out. You seem to get some really great results. After much trial and error, adjusting cure temp and time, press temp and time, multiple times, I just can't seem to get there. My images are coming out grainy looking and/or cracking. I thought the powder wasn't melted all the way so I adjusted the temp and time for that. Didn't work. I followed the instructions to the letter that came with the Yamation kit, no luck there either. I am using the HTVRont auto heat press to cure and press. The platen on that press is about 2 inches from the press mat so I increased the temp and time for curing to make sure the powder was completely melted. And it was! Images still coming out bad. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong? I am using 100% cotton to test on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

DTF powder is typically composed of finely ground polymers, resins, and other additives that facilitate the transfer of printed designs. Common Resin Poisoning Symptoms:
Skin Irritation: Skin contact with toxic resins can lead to irritation, redness, itching, or even rashes. These symptoms may occur immediately or develop over time.
Eye Irritation: Fumes or splashes of resin can cause eye irritation, leading to redness, burning, or excessive tearing.
Respiratory Issues: Inhaling resin fumes can result in symptoms such as coughing, shortness of breath, or a sore throat. Prolonged exposure may lead to more severe respiratory problems.
Headaches: Some crafters report experiencing headaches when working with certain resins. This can be a sign of exposure to harmful fumes.
Nausea and Dizziness: More severe exposure may lead to symptoms like nausea, vomiting, dizziness, or even fainting. These are indicators of a potential toxic reaction.
Allergic Reactions: Allergic individuals may experience heightened sensitivities, which can result in hives, swelling, or other allergic responses. Severe Symptoms:
Call for Help: If symptoms are severe, such as vomiting, difficulty breathing, or loss of consciousness, call emergency services immediately. While waiting for help, continue to ventilate the area and provide basic first aid. resinaffairs.com/resin-poisoning-symptoms/

I let my heat source hover as close as possible with out touching the image at 320° for 90 seconds; Depending on how large your image is and how close the heat source is you may need more time. Also be sure to press twice and peel cold both steps are important. Best wishes ✨

DTF hack is good but not worth all the trouble if your trying to sell shirts. Its better to just to save for a real DTF printer . With DTF hack you will be wasting alot of blank shirts because with hacks theres always errors. Im good with vinal and sublimation until I purchase a real DTF printer. Most of these youtube videos don't show you how much blank shirts that got ruined they only show you the ones that came out great.

    • @ColorMePorcha
      @ColorMePorcha  Рік тому +56

I haven't wasted any shirts, the process is pretty straight forward. It's a hack for a reason and gives an option of sublimating on cotton without the hassle of using HTV. To each their own.

Regular sub paper is for polyester apparel and can only be printed on white, doesn't require special powder. If planning on trying the DTF hack seen here and elsewhere on YT, you will need DTF film/powder which can then be pressed on 100% cotton white, light and dark.

I've been watching your videos for a little while now and I love them. they are very easy to understand and you get right to the point. and I have to say you are quite creative as I love the designs you create in Canva. I have a question for you - I converted my Epson printer to a sublimation printer. I noticed that your colors are incredibly vibrant and they pop! May I ask, do you have a converted printer or a printer for sublimation? If it is converted, would you share your printer settings or guide me to where I can find them? I even got the ICC code from Printers Jack (the ink I use), and my reds are still to orangy. I've tried everything....... I'm wondering if I need to bite the bullet and get a sublimation printer?......😝. TIA!!!😊

But how do u print on dark cotton fabric with a design that has white or with a white color mixture cause we all know that dtf printers come with white inks and with white t shirt even if it is cotton and the sublimation printer does not have white inks it can work.but what about black t shirt cause the sublimation printer cannot produce white.will it still work ?

I’m following all steps and yet my design is pulling up and looks blotchy. Looks good from a distance but close up you can see the issues. I purchased a different powder and film but having the same issue. Have you heard of this issue before? How can I fix it?

Yep, make sure to add as much even pressure to as possible, for the best image transfer.

Hi Porcha, absolutely love this video 🙂.I dont have a large heat press only a small cricut one. When you put the powder on then heat would that be similar to using a heat gun for embossing powder, do you think that would work.

Nice video and a nice tip to put the tape on the film. I get black streaks on the film too many times, do you have any tips to keep that from happening? My printer only feeds from the front so that may be part of the problem. Thanx for the info.

When curing, do fume smells come out?

Yes, but in my opinion, it's faint, but an open window or well ventilated area will help with that.

Did you put parchment paper inside the shirt?

Yes. I either used parchment paper or a Teflon sheet I don't remember at this point, but I do know I put something in there.

After you printed from the sublimation printer, did you have to allow some time for it to dry after it was printed?
