This is a defining band for me in my life as well. Being a 15 year old in 1993 and seeing them at lollapalooza was so Rad. Still to this day they are in my top 5
When j gets it right(all the time in my opinion) his solos conjure up extreme emotions and I feel this one is a great example along with the ending to 'they always come' of why he is such a rebound guitarists. You have to know to know but evidently the boys at fender know. They had to start back up production of the squire j.mascis cuz it is in such high demand as the sweetest Chinese made guitar EVER
That's funny because a kid I sat behind in class had recently gone through a conversion into a Grateful Dead / Phish head and gave me all his Nirvana and Dinosaur Jr CD's. They were all singles but back then that was the only way to hear b-sides.
I found a copy of REM Automatic for the People back in 96 above my locker, I've probably listened to is a hundred time, a still one of my favorite albums.
Funking ❤️ this song and 30 years later again it helped me with relation-shits (relationship shit 😏) Only this time instead of handing over a mixed tape... I just shared the link🤷🏻♂️🤓😏😔 Thank you J and Dinosaur Jr. priceless therapy 🙏🏽🌎🎶 ✌🏽
Rahul Bhaskar yeah, especially during the late 80s, but this song is pretty unique in their catalogue, personally I find in it something dark, I don't know.
+C- Liff Lou Barlow would tell stories of Thurston coming to DJ gigs holding a recorder in the air to record solos. Thurston liked the band so much he urged SST to sign them. Thurston was and still is a fan.
@@TheShagDiesel Absolutely. Were You Been and Green Mind especially, have J's drumming on them for the most part and it's night and day compared to Murph. I actually prefer Murph as DJ's drummer though. I'm from the same town as them and grew up with their extended family and stuff, and Murph was giving drum lessons for a couple years after leaving the band. He put an ad in our local Rock paper that said "Drum lessons from the drummer of Dinosaur Jr" I almost went and took some but he was pretty expensive compared to the music shops etc.
@@copheart Murph played the drums on "Whatever's Cool With Me" the song, J played drums on "Sidways", Not You Again", "The Little Baby", and "Pebbles and Weeds".
@@joelhorton6929 Where do you find this? Besides not sounding anything like Murph's drum style, he isn't credited on the Freak Scene website for anything except "percussion." It just says Mascis played everything except for bass, which was Mike Johnson. I'm not even trying to nitpick here, but I am genuinely curious to where you saw this?

Lollapalooza '93. Thurston Moore, Free Kitten, Sebadoh.....
That guitar solo makes me so genuinely happy

The sound of my teen years. J recorded most of my life's soundtrack.
Right i only wish that people would quit living all over me.
same
One of my favourite guitar solos ever. Wish I could play like that.
Something about these music videos encapsulates the 90's...
I love this song. The guitar solo kills me every single time
J is the great American guitarist since Duane Allman.
tht was a very dinosaur jr way of sayibg it
The double bass blasting caught me by surprise, the whole epicness made me stay
J. Mascis can shred on guitar, tear it up on drums and secrete soul on the piano. Guy's a music playing machine
I traded a Nirvana Nevermind cd in high school for this one and never looked back. This song and "not you again" defined my teenage years
That's funny because a kid I sat behind in class had recently gone through a conversion into a Grateful Dead / Phish head and gave me all his Nirvana and Dinosaur Jr CD's. They were all singles but back then that was the only way to hear b-sides.
No regrets - best choice - nevermind at all forever, as a bonus. Sure shot. Cheers!
I stole a Hail To The Thief cd from Sam Goody. I look back and think about that randomly.
That was smart because Kurt was a pretty boy junkie who never grew up, while J is God.
I found a copy of REM Automatic for the People back in 96 above my locker, I've probably listened to is a hundred time, a still one of my favorite albums.
I wish this song was part of their current tour set list...
Whenever i watch this video again, its almost like a notice something new. Such a weird but cool music video
Lol! My mom used to rock that jazzercise shirt on the regular back when I was boy.
Classic Dinosaur Jr !!!

Love this fing band
i am 42 years old and still love you do, tnks
Biggest influence on my rap career, right here.
Fuck rap
@@dinosaurjr.57 fuck narrow minds.
FUCK THE WORLD
@@asobineko4742 I mean come on though, thats just what they think. It doesn't mean they have a narrow mind.
Fuck everything
Ever since Family Guy came out, I can't not imagine Chris Griffin singing for Dinosaur Jr
Thank you for sharing this great song.
I love this band
This song is underrated
Love the low key double bass!
1977-1997, 20 years of best music ever made on planet earth
Should be 1967-1997
Absolutely.
wow good quality, thanks!
Seems like J used to listen a lot to Sonic Youth in that period, this song in my opinion has the Goo attitude.
No....the sonic youth use to listen to a lot of them.

C- LF This song is VERY Sonic Youth. Especially first 1min
Nostalgic
I did not know this vid until now very cool
Excelente video musical

This whole album is bad ass
Loved the grainy 90's vibe
That's cool they have the green mind girl in there.
j mascis dad with his fingers in his ears at the end :)
Had his fingers in J's mouth earlier too.
92 j was the chicks favorite alternative rock singer at my high school
Flashback to watching this on 120 Minutes.
O clip mais legal do dinosaur jr
Dinosaur is life.❤🦖
Best underrated shit. Didn't know they had videos.
this song is special
Featuring Joseph Mascis Sr on the DENTAL GRINDER!!!
IMHO
yes
Perhaps my favorite Dinosaur song
Trippy
I love this album, the front cover reminds me of Ellie Williams. ♠️💚
3:40 J's Dentist Dad Raking Leaves.
This is top ten of dinosaur unique sound.
Double bass drum for once (!). Supercool. Eff stupid Metal!! 🤘😇👍
cool ending
Hey man, you are living all over me.
'Cause I got nothin' happenin' that's cool
It seems like the drummer had a new double-bass machine when they created this song.
I think Mascis played drums on this, not Murph. These were like J Mascis solo records for the most part
@@copheart Without double-checking the credits, the bass rolls have J written all over them.

Hüsker dü vibe for sure
Looks like Murph's askeered of cows, keeping his distance.
Is J wearing a Jazzercize shirt?
This is the 69th comment so that’s why I’m making it. I am extremely maturity-challenged. And that’s. Okay.
Is the dentist J's dad?
J.'s dad is Bud Goode
Maybe the only song with a double kick drum?
Isn't that Julia cafritz dancing in the video?
2:45
J's using that same Jaguar in all these vids from this time, that apparently he didn't really like all that much.
In an interview he said he liked how it looked but didn’t like the sound compared to the jazzmaster
@@ryanlusby569 yep.
cows are cool
Love her 60's surf beach go-go dance! Also in 'Just Like Heaven' video... What is her name? Is she ok? Greetz
J is a monster
Thank you very much.
Does anyone knows who is the girl on the video? Is the dentist J Mascis father?
It makes me sad when J plays other guitars than his Jazzmaster lol
Who disliked this and why?
Jason Clark Lou and Murph
oof
Mr. Poofers sent me here.
Yall don’t know nuthin bout dis fr
You can literally see the hate between J and Lou.
Greatest band ever.
J have an AL Jazeera tee
you're either a terrible troll or illiterate, it says Jazzercise (look it up!)
Sonic Youth influenced
Wrong way around.
Not with me ;]
