Man, I can’t thank you enough. Just watched this yesterday and my buddy called me this afternoon to see if I could yank a swimbait hook out of his pinky finger. Worked like a charm. 👍🏻👍🏻

@@tacticalbassin years ago, I had a gold spoon stuck in my big toe fishing down in florida bay, it was real bad and I didn’t know what to do. Our options were yank it out or end our trip early and head to a ER. I didn’t know about this trick then , and ended up just pushing down on the spoon while yanking it out with pliers it took a couple tries but finally came out. Wrapped it up in a towel and kept fishing. My father and I both slammed snook and reds that day not to mention our limit on trout

It will happen, I've only had it happen once. Last year, on the first cast of the morning I caught a 6lber on a Damiki D pop, and I could barley see. I went to grab the bait, and the back treble was hooked in the fish mouth and in my thumb.

I’m a doctor and a fisherman. I use this technique regularly. Your video is excellent. Some don’t show the loop around the hook. Without looping around the hook you can launch it when it comes out. First hand experience here😊
Pressure down on the shaft of the hook helps stop the barb from holding. Surprisingly painless.
I recommend eye protection. Your sunglasses will do.

I've done it by passing a stringer thru the hook and tying it to the steering wheel of the boat and holding counter pressure on the base of the hook and jerking both hands opposite of the tie point.
My Dad was in a guided tournament and one of the guides told him that another guide had just told him, on his CB radio, that one of his party had just gotten a hook in his hand and they were going on in to the hospital. Dad told his guide to meet the other boat. Dad crawled in their boat and popped the hook out and was back in his boat inside of 5 minutes and said, LETS FISH.

Go to the hospital too. If your hook has had bait, raw fish etc on it, you could get a very serious infection. Especially if the hook is deep in your hand, it could progress to a bone infection or septic arthritis depending on where you were hooked. This stuff requires medical attention. Don’t just yank it out, because not only could you damage structures in your hand like a tendon for instance, or a nerve, but you might need antibiotics depending on the situation.

If you don’t like how that feels imagine doing that to animals and how they feel. don’t go fishing and harming animals. It’s wrong you won’t be saved it’s sick and twisted. FISHES DONT WANT TO DIE OR BE ON YOUR PLATE OR SUFFER.HUNTIG IS EVIL AND WRONGStop exploiting animals and harming them and abusing them and putting painful hooks through their mouth. eating them it’s sick and wrong and twisted. That chicken that sea urchin doesn’t want to feel pain and can’t defend himself and no animal didn’t want to die I bet if it was a dog this double standard is sick and wrong animals are not property you have no right to touch her or force her and treat her like she’s not a person or her feelings and how she feels doesn’t matter. be cancelled this is a sick and godless society all animals deserve to live in peace and not be killed by selfish people if someone doesn’t want to die don’t kill them it’s wrong nobody deserves to die this is disgusting and you need to go vegan that’s how Jesus designed it to be nobody should be forced to die nobody should have to go through pain. It says in the book of Enoch animals will judge people who treat them poorly. THESE ANIMALS ARE IN DIRTY CAGES LIKE BLACK AND WHITE SLAVERY TIMES and no freedom but born to be labeled as food and property of someone else. Stop the animal holocaust and African slavery with animals. Jesus told me you will live to see the rapture it’s happening now

Last weekend my buddy got hooked in his foot while attempting to land a good size pike while in a kayak. He should have had a net, he likely wouldn't have been hooked. But he was hooked, as I attempted too remove the hook just as you did in the video, I noticed some swelling that generally doesn't occur when hooked. Turns out that the hook was in his vein, and if we had pulled it, he would have required surgery. The doctor at the hospital told us that he was glad we didn't pull it out.
In saying all that, wait ten minutes or so before pulling any hook, that's approximately how long it took for the swelling to start. The freaky thing about the situation is that the hook didn't look like it was in a vein initially. This does work to remove hooks, but make sure you aren't in a vain before doing it.

My uncle had a great way to get hooks out of peoples hands. He would wrap a string around a hook a certain way and the person would hold the line the hook was attached to and my uncle would hold each end of the string he wrapped around the hook and pull in opposite directions and the hook would basically twist itself out.

My dad was lifting a 24 of beer out of the trunk of our car, a treble hook was stuck in the box from the floor of the trunk, as soon as he started to walk towards the house he started yelling. One hook was in the case the other hook went through his belly, he couldn’t set the case of beer down. I had to slowly empty the case of all the bottles, then cut the hook from the cardboard, he needed three stitches because of the weight of the beer, it tore his skin. He yelled at me for not putting his fishing equipment away properly.😂

Always put the tools away where you got them from, put the toys back where you got them from. And always make a list of inventory and record who’s taking your tools at any point in time.

Another tip. i’m 11 years old and i have been fishing since i was about 5. I absolutely love it, besides that here’s my tip, if you ever get a normal fishing rod hook stuck in your finger do not just pull it out. Instead of pulling it out you need to slowly ease it out by wiggling it, this probably already has happened to most of you but this is for the ones that haven’t, i have had many hooks in my finger mainly by putting bait on my hook and my finger might get too close or it might slip. Hope that helped anyway 😊
