I can't imagine how I lived without this robot in the past. I bought this i7 plus only week ago . Very best robot in the market I believe. On top of it, i7 C/S is excellent, which is the second most important after this high-end quality machine.
Thanks for the great review👍 I still love iRobot products after 7ish years, owning a 530 and the 980 model, both were very reliable and the 980 was the game changer with its mapping. Now it's time to make the I7+ part of the family.
@@VacuumWars After looking at the reviews for the CleanBase, quite a few people are saying that it didn't even last a year before breaking. The CleanBase only has 2.8/5 stars on iRobot's website
As much as I appreciate bagged vs bag less, I’d have preferred the Clean Base to be a bag less version. Vacuums tend to pick up things indiscriminately (See Breaking Bad), or suck up micro SD cards, small caps, a rare screw you might have misplaced, etc, and a dust bag full of a months of blind vacuuming might cause you to toss out something you normally wouldn’t. At least manually emptying a dust bin, no matter how often, allows for a quick inspection. Vacuum something up manually and you can inspect what the heck just made that noise in that thing you picked up.
I’m feeling even better about my almost brand new 980 I just bought yesterday for $100 on facebook. It only had 15 hours on it the life of the unit somehow. The contacts on the charger just needed to be cleaned and it’s good to go! It’s my first robot vacuum, and I’ve been using it nonstop since I got it yesterday. I’ll buy the i7+ 3 years from now used on facebook and rinse and repeat. Lmao Thanks for the awesome reviews!
I've watched COUNTLESS robot vacuum videos for over a year now. Yours are the best. The review, the sound quality, the comparisons. Keep up the GREAT work and please don't just stick to vacuums, try other avenues as well. I want to ask your advice and hope you see this soon. It's 2018 and the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I'm torn between the i7 and the 960. The 960 is on a black Friday sale for just $450 now. What would you do. I have one pet and the floors don't get SUPER dirty. Mostly tile, some rugs. Again, I really appreciate your work and hope to see more.
Just wanted to point out that the i7 doesn't come with the auto Evac bin, so the volume isn't compromised. If you buy a clean base later, it comes with the required bin.
Picked this bad boy up on FB market for $400 with the cleaning base. Gotta say, I am highly satisfied with how well it cleans. Highly recommend, especially if you can pick it up cheap
Thanks! I bought the E5 a few months ago and I love it, but I get so annoyed by it's inefficient bopping around! Get it together, Roomba! 😂. So I'm going to order the i7+ right now.
One of the best home cleaning investment I’ve made! Love the dust canister, with two Corgi’s it’s a game changer. Paired it with a Dyson V8 Absolute cordless stick vac and cleaning is a breeze!!
what is the charging time for the i7+; can you do multiple sweeps in a day? Do you HAVE to have a smart phone to program it? Can it be programmed from a laptop or tablet? What is the battery life estimation please? Have a golden retriever-so LONG hair. Is the suction strong enough to suck up the hair and NOT have it wind around the brushes? The first Roomba I bought had a flimsy edge cleaner that was useless once it picked up a few dog hairs. Do you have to manually clean the brushes and edge cleaner and if so, how often? Thank you! Would luv 2 get a new one if it will work with long dog hair!
Jsut picked up my apex thanks to you. So far so good. They wasn't lying about the pull lol it almost slipped out of my hands when I put the Motörhead down. Hopefully there's only good to come. Thank you
Awesome Brett!!! Yeah I love mine so much! I actually keep mine in the studio as it the only vacuum I can count on to pick up anything and everything every time. Let me know if you have any questions Ill be happy to help if I can. Regarding the pull (if you mean the kind of self propelled action) I really only notice that in lift away mode on carpets, if you have a lot of carpets then using it in its upright mode is better.
Vacuum Wars I'm sure you are used to the pull of deep clean vacuums. I'm not lol but its nice. I even vacuumed with my step moms shark to get as much up as I could and then I used mine.. it took up a heaping handful of dust and dirt after.. lol I was impressed. I jsut hope it lasts a long time
Nice, Yeah I think it will last a long time. The main maintenance thing is to keep it clean behind the duoclean roller as well as the main roller (the duoclean roller pops out for cleaning)
Vacuum Wars I popped them out after the use and they were clean.. jsut a little steak on the duo clean brush and a elastic strand on the brush I wiped everything out. I didn't rinse out the dirt bin cuz I'm not sure if that's a good idea but I always deep clean all the filters after every use.. I work hard for what I have and try my hardest to keep my stuff looking new. Is rinsing the bin out a bad idea? Letting it all dry of course
Great video! Im trying to understand what features won’t work if WiFi is not used. More specifically what mapping features will work? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
When the dust bin is full will it return to the base and empty it then go back to cleaning or will emptying the bin make it start a charging cycle? Thanks
Good question! I was skeptical on this point but I specifically filled up a bin with pet hair to see what would happen. and id did perfectly, in fact it was way better than if you emptied it by hand. The suction motor on the clean base is way powerful.
Thank you and a wonderful review I was wondering so since the dustbin is redesigned and the vacuum is in the robot where is the exhaust for the vacuum bc I have seen the robot is some stores and I can’t find out where it is
Yeah I was wondering that too. I actually tried to get a shot from underneath so you could see it in action but I couldnt get it to work for some reason.
Finally got the exact information I was looking for. Having issues with the device missing debris on carpet, specifically fuzzies from black boot socks. Read online that you can use the app to change the suction settings. However, that is true for older models, this item only operates on the higher setting. Will try multiple passes instead, looks like based on the video that it should work. Had a Xioami robot vacuum previously which operated for 6 years with questionable maintenance, but ALWAYS had issues with carpet, would read that the brush was tangled 18 times when it was not before finally finishing my carpeted area. So I appreciate the start and forget about it for this one.
Ended up returning it. Suction 1800pa, which explains why it doesn't pick up all the black sock bits from the carpet, more research reveals competitors with 2000+pa. Finally got fed up with it and returned it because it 1) couldn't find its way out of a room next door to its docking station, and then 2) couldn't dock despite being placed directly in front of its docking station, occurring after 3rd use. A shame, I thought iRobot was top of the line in the market.
the i7+ is €399 now and I'm considering getting it. Would this still be a good purchase now? I had a Roborock S50 since 2018 but it recently stopped charging so I'm looking to replace it. The replacement needs to deal with hard floors and a few rugs. No pets. What I liked most about the Roborock is how well and quickly it mapped the room every time it ran, meaning I could move furniture around and it would still know the layout and avoid no-go zones etc. How does the Roomba perform in this regard?
Great review. How does the i7 compare to the e5? Also I thought the WiFi app would have a WiFi remote control. Do any of the Roombas have remote control where I can actually control myself not just turn it on and off and schedule it?
We have two large dogs that can bump our occasional chair and ottoman out of place. Or what about a kitchen chair that isn't pushed back into place under the table... how does the i7+'s room mapping handle these displaced objects?
It will just default to is regular bump sensor navigation for the duration of that cleaning. It has a huge processor so it will know the difference over time.
Hey great job on your demo video. I was so excited about the Roomba i7+ when I first learned of its awesomely new feature, the self emptying. Lol when I first tried ordering the i7+, I went to it's website, but I couldn't not find the add to cart button. So I called Roomba and the sales representative said that it was not avaible for purchase yet. You'll have to wait another two weeks. I was very disappointed, but I am so glad that I had waited. You can get the Roomba i7+ for just about the same price as the Roomba i7. Now, like the guy in the video said, the only difference between the two models, the i7 does not come with auto dirt disposal bin but can be purchased separately, where the i7+ does. The cost of the Roomba i7 is $700, the cost of the Roomba i7+ cost $950. I went to Bed, Bath and Beyon and purchase the i7+. I paid $760 for the Roomba i7+! YES, $760. How did I get the i7+ for around the same price as the i7? BB&B offer 20% off to their customers who join their free club. Every month, I receive a sales circular and on the circular on the back page is a 20% off orgional priced single item in the store or online. The store in my town is nice enough to accept expired 20% off coupons. I have coupons that are over a year old and the nice people at my local Bed Bath and Beyon accepts that coupon. So, if you want the i7+ but have to settle for the i7 model because you cannot afford the i7+, run to your local BB&B store and beg them for a 20% coupon so you can get the totally awesome i7+ rather the not so cool i7. It's worth the extra $60 for the + model, don't settle for the i7 if you get the coupon.
I just picked up a i7 without the clean base.... couldnt swing $1k on this one. Got it on ebay for $500 and with a 10% back eBay Bucks.... used that to buy a 2 year square trade warranty since Roomba wont cover eBay purchases.... (lame) Ill be keeping an eye out for the clean base to add at a late date and at $350 new I will still be well under $1k after all is said and done. Thanks for the detailed reviews that let consumers make knowledgeable purchases
Thanks for the review. I currently have a 985 which frequently gets jammed under my kitchen cupboard doors. It actually managed to break off its dock sensor and not it will not dock to recharge without help. Is the i7 able to learn to avoid areas where it has previously gotten stuck? Is it possible to map out areas to avoid, like the areas close to the cupboards?
I have purchased the Roomba i7. It is very expensive so I expected a product that worked well. I fought with it for over a week trying to get the smart mapping function to work. When I called help they said just do a factory reset and try again. Much faster to put it back in the box and take it back.
It could be a lemon, it happens more that you would think, with vacs of all types. I bought a robot vacuum lemon this week on an otherwise great company, got another one, worked great.
@@chazonyoo Fair assumption but I do not have anything to do with the vacuum business. I was frustrated with the support and function for the cost. I actually expected some vendor feedback. I am sure many have had better luck with the product and hopefully there are those positive types of comments as well. Good call to ask the question though. There are a lot of fabricated reviews out there. All the best!
Tynisha Hollins can you please tell me what made u choose i7 over 960 I just got the 960 but im still unsure about it specially cuz it doesn’t learn maps, so would like your input too
Samar Ahmad the power was so much better and the battery didn’t last long when I used it upstairs on mostly carpet. I purchase the Neato D7 and love it more than my roomba.
Samar Ahmad I only have the two (no experience with roborock) but if I had my choice I’d have two Neato. It’s more powerful than the i7+ and has a great battery life. My i7+ can’t do a whole floor without recharge and resume. I will say the i7+ clean base is awesome. I love not having to empty it. I do like choosing which room (mapping) and I never have to clean the brushes on the roomba. I hear the newest one is amazing though but all 3 of your options I think is better than the 960. Good luck.
Mine isn’t as good as it was. I’ve had it 13 months. Be careful. I have rugs, wood floors and tile for that have been Ruined. Yes I have done the maintenance on it like I’m supposed to.
As a 2 month old i7 owner I can 100% agree with this guy! I owned the 960 at first then got the i7 when it went on sale and there are definitely some improvements. However I do feel the 960 did a better job on carpets and was quieter than the i7. On hard surfaces the i7 does shine better. After running it a few times in the kitchen my apartment kitchen floor started to shine! No longer do I have to randomly step on things in the kitchen walking bare foot. Having it on a schedule turns issues I had living here into a positivie. I have a Swiffer i used about twice a week that I no longer have to use much because of (Robbie) my i7. It gets places I don't want to clean myself (next to and behind the toilet) and does a great job. TBH I probably run my vac a little too often living on the first floor of an apartment where ANYTHING can be on the floor I LOVE IT! Off sale it seems a bit much but still well worth it. If you can find the 960 BUY it! You may be more satisfied with its cleaning than the i7. It lacks remembering maps but it still creates one of your home after every cycle like the i7 and it seemed to remember obstacles like the i7 does. I also found it avoided places it would have a hard time getting out of unlike the i7. The i7 has this thing where if it bumps into something backwards (trapped in a tight space) it crashed backwards while the wheels are still spinning for a second or two which I find annoying that the 960 didn't do. But the i7 smart mapping and the fact i don't have to use the wall barrier (as long as the room is well lit) is worth the upgrade to me. The bigger brushed do a great job and my floor has never been so clean. Running this and using a air filter makes my home feel nice and CLEAN!
You mention it doesn’t work in the dark, how dark does it have to be for it to freak out and not work right, like shades down in the middle of the day dark or pitched black middle of the night dark?
Is the i7 $699.00 better than roborock s5 $579.00 Because there's only about a $80 difference? Also on a side note I can get the rhumba 985 At Costco for $499.00 That's about $80 cheaper than the roborock S5, what would you choose?
I would say that if you are not going to get the i7+ with the clean base then one of the other 2 choices would be a good value. The main thing for me is the clean base. Other than that it's not much different than the 900 series.
it would be nice if they can update the software for the bin. for instance make it where you can pick the time when the bin will be emptied. So if I have it clean at 5 AM it just docks after it's done and that's it and at 10 or 11 the bin comes on so it don't wake up someone.
I currently own Roomba 960, I am trying to decide if I should upgrade. I love that it empties itself since I have allergies but I’m guessing I still have to clean the HEPA filter myself, thus I still have to get my hands dirty ? Does it clean the HEPA filter well when it empties ? Is so how often do you have to clean the filter ?
I keep reading that the i7 (plus) can map ten "floors," but how large a map can it actually remember? I've seen some disagreement about this online. Some reviewers are saying that it can clean ten full floors, but others say that the upper limit is still about 2000 square feet (which would be ten really small floors). When I called customer support, they basically agreed with the 2000 square foot limit but I'm not sure that they really understood my question. I'm really wondering if the i7 plus could remember its way around a large auditorium (ie. our church sanctuary). Vacuuming under a room full of church pews is a difficult, time-consuming, activity. But if a Roomba could pull it off, it would save our custodian a LOT of time. Have you explored this at all?
I have reviewed the D7 and compared it to the Roomba 980, but a LOT has changed with the D7's software for the better, so I am going to redo that video in about a week with the i7+
Samar Ahmad Well I reset the roomba and had it rebuild the map and that seemed to fix the problem. It was getting lost going back to home base. It does really well now after the reset.
Samar Ahmad I would recommend it. Self navigation should be a significant improvement over the 960. Also much superior suction, I think you would be happier with this vacuum over the older 960.
2 questions 1. What about stairs? Will it just tumble down or sense a edge and ignore it? 2 when picking up. What if we drop like coins and nuts and bolts. Will it still work or will it damage it? Thanks
Hey I know you have affiliate links but I just wanted your honest opinion on a robot that is good for a relative small hard floor. It’s a small apartment and in fear I’d be over spending on one of these roombas but I do want the app to be able to set it to go while I’m out and the cleaning doc would be cool too. Any suggestions ?
over a year later but I'm curious as to what you ended up doing. Did you get this? If so, how did it work for you? I would rather have overkill vs not enough. A small apartment can be set to clean everyday while you are at work and you'd never even know anything was going on ha.
I can't get mine to clear it's "undocking problem." And if I move it off the base it's "drop off detected" error happens. I've gone thru the routine maintenance and am wondering at what point do I return the non-working $1000 vacuum. Worked good for 2 days.
iam kind of new member with this technology. may i ask what the robot could do?? mopping and vacuum?? please help me to find a both function robot? thank you!
But the CleanBase uses disposable dust bags? Doesn't that pretty much defeat some of the functionality? You'd keep paying for the product after the initial purchase. Why not just have a plastic enclosure?
I’m skeptical about the 30 runs per bag. My 980 fills its bin every time I run it with pet hair. Have read that the bag will only hold debris from very few runs before it fills up. So either have to empty the bag or buy new ones at $5 per bag often. Can bag be emptied? Also the filter may need to be cleaned on every run if it’s like the 980.
Well it really does seem to pack the debris in pretty good. After all the tests I did it is only 1/4 full so it seems right. I suppose you could empty it, it would be a bit messy though as you would have to dig it out if its a lot of pet hair. You will still have to maintain filters etc every, I think Irobot recommends cleaning once a week, but I did notice that the suction on the Clean base does tend to really clean a lot more than I thought it would.
I bought a i7 plus in November 2018 it's now April 2019 and I haven't needed to replace any bags yet. It all depends on how dirty your house gets. The bag is the same size as a bag on a normal vacuum so it will need to be replaced as much as ab regular vacuum.
@@Rekkless after half a year, any other faults this vacuum has in your opinion? I'm thinking of getting it for mother's day (for my mom) but am wary of the price. Any regrets at all?
I assume inorder to do second floor you would need to move base upstairs ...will it automatically find the base once put upstairs ?? or can you just buy a second base and leave one on each floor ?? THANKS
You dont need a second base for it to remember and clean another floor, it recognizes this automatically. However if you want it to empty itself, then obviously you would need another base, and yes they are sold separately
I have had the 980 for 3 years next month and couldn’t live without it lol I have 5 kids a dog and a husband so it runs daily. It would be so nice to have it empty itself, and the mapping option is something I mentioned to them when I first got mine and was hoping it was something they could do with an update 😩 But it’s so expensive and I wish it had a bin that could be emptied instead of buying new bags. They seem to be kind of expensive especially if it runs all the time and in a large house.
I think that Irobot is running a promotion that if you have the 980 they will give you a BIG discount on the i7+ You could sell your 980 on Ebay and probably come out with only paying a few extra bucks!
How well does it work on removing pet hair from the robot bin to the docking bin? We have 2 Labs and our roomba 650’s bin gets packed very tight with dog hair.
YES! I really never noticed how much work I was doing with robot vacuums before. This was like having Rosie the Robot clean my home, though less chatty.
I have reviewed the Shark Ion 750 which seems to be very similar to the new version, I havent confirmed that but I think the main change was that they added a handheld vacuum.
Great review but I have had the 980 and now the i7. One thing I have found is that the i7 does not handle long hair as well as the 980. Basically the i7 will gather up the hair into balls and puke it back out. At the end of a cleaning run I will find small clumps of hair scattered. This doesn't matter about level of bin fill. Clumps are seen soon after it starts its clean job(empty bin). I have to wonder if the larger finned extractor is the reason. The Mapping is amazing and drops cleaning times per room on average 10 minutes on our house. Also the sound level is huge. At distance the sound just disappears sometimes I have to check to see if the vac didn't die
Thats interesting about the pet hair, I didnt notice it but I was only testing small amounts. It could be the extractor, im not sure. Yeah crazy quiet, night and day from the previous Roombas!
@@VacuumWars Need to find some long pet hair and scatter it around thinly. The i7 I find that it tangles more around the extractors compared to the 980 along with just spitting them out. You state that the suction is the same but I don't see that. The i7 seems weak in suction and doesn't pick up as much debris on certain surfaces.
In general the main difference is the software, particularly the nogo lines that you can draw on the map with the S5 but as of yet that feature is not available on any Roombas.
i went and got the deebot ozmo 930 instead way way less noise can detect carpet vs normal floor and can mop but you need to switch parts in between and cant do auto discharge like this very good review by the way
I really don't hear the vacuum turn up the notch at all and it doesn't clean as well as my previous 980. The brushes seem to work harder than the 980 but by far does not clean as well as the 980. Question: is the vacuum on my roomba working?
Yes, here you're. It was in the shop where I bought my old LG Hombot Square (Spain). It was too expensive for me. ua-cam.com/video/tBkca0RQukc/v-deo.html
It actually did very well with emptying large clumps of hair into the clean base. Every time I checked the bin it was clean. I guess the suction on the base is pretty strong.

All that mapping, and tracking... Where you think it goes? That's why Wi-Fi it's required
The karcher rc 3000 made in 2002 had the same bin system. That also had a bag which was it's greatest problem.
When the dust bin is full will it return to the base and empty it then go back to cleaning or will emptying the bin make it start a charging cycle? Thanks
That video from the ceiling is awesome!!! Very informative video too. Thank you.
Cool thanks, I shot it with a gopro mounted on the ceiling.
Did it experience difficulty transferring pet hair from dust bin to the cleaning base?

I would like to know if it's home alarm safe, or does the alarm company have to adjust for the roomba?
They shouldn’t be large enough, but check with your security provider.
Vacuum Wars thank you for trying
I hope somewhat like that too.
I did a comparison here: ua-cam.com/video/6DrekGUvAIw/v-deo.html the main thing is the navigation.
Good info thanks so much for stopping by!
I call bullshit the BB&B does not let you apply discounts to the iroomba www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/s/iroomba-7-plus?ta=typeahead&flyout=true
I love the automatic dust bin emptying part
Yeah, I like it too!
I just picked up a i7 without the clean base.... couldnt swing $1k on this one. Got it on ebay for $500 and with a 10% back eBay Bucks.... used that to buy a 2 year square trade warranty since Roomba wont cover eBay purchases.... (lame)
Ill be keeping an eye out for the clean base to add at a late date and at $350 new I will still be well under $1k after all is said and done.
Thanks for the detailed reviews that let consumers make knowledgeable purchases
But will it empty a large dust and hairs from bin to base station?? Did you test it? Will it clean a hepa filter when it stands on base?
Its "clean base" suction is really powerful it cleans the bin and filters remarkable well.
Thank you this solidified my purchase
Glad to have helped!
When i buy Clean Base and a bin from i7+ and put It in roomba e5, can i make roomba e5+? :D
I am a big fan of you can you please do a review on a iRobot 655
I have purchased the Roomba i7. It is very expensive so I expected a product that worked well. I fought with it for over a week trying to get the smart mapping function to work. When I called help they said just do a factory reset and try again. Much faster to put it back in the box and take it back.
It could be a lemon, it happens more that you would think, with vacs of all types. I bought a robot vacuum lemon this week on an otherwise great company, got another one, worked great.
Dude you post this on at least all Roomba i7 videos on youtube. You probably work for the competitors. Geez.
Thanks for all the reviews. I returned my 960 for the i7. Do you think that iRobot will come out with an extended battery for longer run time?
Im not sure, I wouldnt count on it though.
Tynisha Hollins can you please tell me what made u choose i7 over 960
I just got the 960 but im still unsure about it specially cuz it doesn’t learn maps, so would like your input too
Samar Ahmad the power was so much better and the battery didn’t last long when I used it upstairs on mostly carpet. I purchase the Neato D7 and love it more than my roomba.
Tynisha Hollins oh think i,ll look into that too
Now im thinking between i7, roborock s5 max and neato d7
Samar Ahmad I only have the two (no experience with roborock) but if I had my choice I’d have two Neato. It’s more powerful than the i7+ and has a great battery life. My i7+ can’t do a whole floor without recharge and resume. I will say the i7+ clean base is awesome. I love not having to empty it. I do like choosing which room (mapping) and I never have to clean the brushes on the roomba. I hear the newest one is amazing though but all 3 of your options I think is better than the 960. Good luck.
Could you tell me if hair gets stuck on the bottom to the brush? Also I do wish you could tell the price!
How is it holding up? Also, how much does it cost you to maintain per year? (replacement parts, filters, etc.)
The 960 has a stronger motor. His testing was flawed here or he didn't do it and just ran with his 980 numbers.
Prime day it's 500 should I pull the trigger?
I have an older home with hardwood floors and I am fight dust bunnies. What is the best vacum fir dust bunny pick up ?
You mention it doesn’t work in the dark, how dark does it have to be for it to freak out and not work right, like shades down in the middle of the day dark or pitched black middle of the night dark?
Do you vacuum in the dark or if the room is dark? 🤔😁
Vacuum Wars thank you. I was thinking about getting the I7+ but I've never had a robot vacuum so i wasn't sure how helpful it would be.
it would be nice if they can update the software for the bin. for instance make it where you can pick the time when the bin will be emptied. So if I have it clean at 5 AM it just docks after it's done and that's it and at 10 or 11 the bin comes on so it don't wake up someone.
Nice review.
Can you schedule several cleaning sessions in the same day?
Good question, I dont think so.
Vacuum Wars thank you.
Any chance you can show the inside view of the filter of the i7 right after it auto empties?
I currently own Roomba 960, I am trying to decide if I should upgrade. I love that it empties itself since I have allergies but I’m guessing I still have to clean the HEPA filter myself, thus I still have to get my hands dirty ? Does it clean the HEPA filter well when it empties ? Is so how often do you have to clean the filter ?
I would say that the I7 is probably the closest you can get to not having to deal with dust, its not perfect but its close.
Have you explored this at all?
this will became my new family members!
I think its a good choice, I really love mine.
Hey do you think this would work on a very thick shag carpet?
I haven't tried it, but I would contact a sales person at Irobot. They probably have exact specifications on that.
What would you recommend i7 or the 980?
My I7+ has got stuck on the stairs several times. I thought it could spot and avoid stairs?
How does it get "stuck on" the stairs? 🤔
@@leonielovemusic drives up to the edge and drops the front wheel over. Its launched right off them before too.
Have you reviewed the neato d7? I would enjoy seeing that reviewed vs the Roombas.
I have reviewed the D7 and compared it to the Roomba 980, but a LOT has changed with the D7's software for the better, so I am going to redo that video in about a week with the i7+
My roomba i7 leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to navigation. Hopefully future updates can improve on this
i read somewhere else too, in comparison to 960, the navigation efficiency is lower on the i7, is it true? Does it not cover the entire area?
Samar Ahmad Well I reset the roomba and had it rebuild the map and that seemed to fix the problem. It was getting lost going back to home base. It does really well now after the reset.
@@tpfrk8977 thankyou, this will help in making a decision
Samar Ahmad I would recommend it. Self navigation should be a significant improvement over the 960. Also much superior suction, I think you would be happier with this vacuum over the older 960.
I don’t understand it’s all over the room all the time. And the carpet rooms you can see the tracks are very crazy.
2 questions
1. What about stairs? Will it just tumble down or sense a edge and ignore it?
2 when picking up. What if we drop like coins and nuts and bolts. Will it still work or will it damage it? Thanks
It has an edge sensor, and I wouldn't rely on a household vac to pick up a large amount of heavy debris. These are standard household machines.
@@VacuumWars thanks. I tend to drop coins and forget them later on lol. Oh i want one
Super review. Thanks so much!
Excellent review. Thank you.
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Excellent assessment!
@@Chris10156 I got a 2nd hand NEato and seems to do the job ok although can get caught a little and it has no app.
I got 3 years worth of bags off Amazon for $40. So about $1.10 a month? Worth it for me.
Excellent robot ^v^. I have one as well. Love it compared to my other robots.
Cool, good to hear!
I bought this last night on a whim after watching this I'm now glad I did! 😂
That's great! Hope you enjoy it!
How much was it ?
Is it smart enough that it goes back to the station when it is full and then goes back out to continue vacuuming?
Big minus is the bags you need to resupply (buy) every month. I prefer a reusable bin
Does it always get everything out of the bin when it self-empties into the dock?
It really does, I was skeptical of this but the suction on the Clean Base is really high. It even cleans the filter a little.
do these have a key finder like function as well encase it is stuck some where when i come home i might want to be able to find it ha.
I have had the 980 for 3 years next month and couldn’t live without it lol I have 5 kids a dog and a husband so it runs daily. It would be so nice to have it empty itself, and the mapping option is something I mentioned to them when I first got mine and was hoping it was something they could do with an update 😩
But it’s so expensive and I wish it had a bin that could be emptied instead of buying new bags. They seem to be kind of expensive especially if it runs all the time and in a large house.
I think that Irobot is running a promotion that if you have the 980 they will give you a BIG discount on the i7+ You could sell your 980 on Ebay and probably come out with only paying a few extra bucks!
Vacuum Wars hmmm I’m going to have to look into that! Thank you !
No problem!
How well does it work on removing pet hair from the robot bin to the docking bin? We have 2 Labs and our roomba 650’s bin gets packed very tight with dog hair.
It works great with pets hair
I would love one of these, love it.
YES! I really never noticed how much work I was doing with robot vacuums before. This was like having Rosie the Robot clean my home, though less chatty.
Vacuum Wars I would definitely get one like this. Thanks for the awesome review my friend
Irobot came out with a vac and mop combo
How do you like the i7 ? I want the s9 i just can’t afford the price tag but how is the i7 ? I currently have the 980
I LOVE my I7
I just got it !
That cat in the beginning seemed very interested.
I loved the cat!
my wife and I have had a deebot for several years now-this is one we have our eye on to replace it
Hows that planned out?
Very impressive
I wish they made a clean base that plugged into a central vac system
Yeah that would be cool!
Can u test out the shark robot
I have reviewed the Shark Ion 750 which seems to be very similar to the new version, I havent confirmed that but I think the main change was that they added a handheld vacuum.
Thanks for your good review. Was difficult to find one
Cool, nice to hear, thanks!
I bought a Roomba i6 without the Clean Base and that came with a regular bin without the self empty slot
I hear people bring up the navigation of the i7 vs the roborock s5, can you explain the pros and cons of each navigation system? PS thanks good review
In general the main difference is the software, particularly the nogo lines that you can draw on the map with the S5 but as of yet that feature is not available on any Roombas.
Can you do a review of the black and decker model HRV420BP07 robot vacuum?
Ill look into it, thanks!
$5 per disposable garbage bag as well ($15 for 3 on iRobot's website). Each bag = 30 * 0.58L = 17L.
Im sure there will be knock offs available very soon, but still I think its worth it. Thats 90 times you didnt have to empty the bin.
i went and got the deebot ozmo 930 instead way way less noise can detect carpet vs normal floor and can mop but you need to switch parts in between and cant do auto discharge like this very good review by the way
The Deebot Ozmo is an excellent choice. I really like Ecovacs, they are very innovative.
Can the Clean Base Work on E-Series. E Series has a i7 Dirt Disposal bin.
I really don't hear the vacuum turn up the notch at all and it doesn't clean as well as my previous 980. The brushes seem to work harder than the 980 but by far does not clean as well as the 980. Question: is the vacuum on my roomba working?
Hmm, im not sure it could be a problem with your unit. You should call Irobot to be sure. Mine cleaned as good as the 980.
hi, can you compare Roomba i7 with Roborock S7 ?
Can you compare roomba i7 with xiaomi roborock? Roomba 890-xiaomi roborock?
Yeah I really need to get a Xiaomi roborock.
@@VacuumWars do you need a sponsor for it?
Thanks for amazing video.
Thank you! And Thanks for the comment too!
Can it use 2 separate stations? for separate floors?
So wait, the vacuum gets vacuumed 🤯
Is this the first company using something like this clean-base?
Maybe Xiaomi, ...? Or do you know if the have it planed?
Ecovacs Deebot has had one for awhile, but the reviews werent good. I am sure other companies will be getting in on it soon enough.
Yes, here you're. It was in the shop where I bought my old LG Hombot Square (Spain). It was too expensive for me. ua-cam.com/video/tBkca0RQukc/v-deo.html
No karcher rc 3000 had one in 2002 (made until 2015)
thanks for the review . Does it empty well the dust bin? Can you put a long human hair in your tests?
It actually did very well with emptying large clumps of hair into the clean base. Every time I checked the bin it was clean. I guess the suction on the base is pretty strong.
