At the time of recording this video I was running IOS 14.3. You may be running a newer or older software version on your iPhone, but these settings should be quite similar.
Instructions from this video:
1 Turn on Smart Typing
1.1 Tell Siri (activate by holding down the power button, or the home button if your phone still has one) "open accessibility settings"
1.2 Select Zoom, which is the second option in the vision category.
1.3 At the top, turn on Zoom
1.4 Turn on follow focus which is the next option below.
1.5 Now Smart Typing will pop up below and then turn it on
2 How to use smart typing
2.1 Whenever you need to type in a textfield, zoom in and then tap on the text field and start typing
2.2 The zoom region will switch to window zoom, even if you have full screen zoom activated, and the zoom region will just magnify the cursor as you type in the text field
2.3 Start typing and adjust the zoom level to be able to best see the text as you type.
Note: you will need to memorize the keyboard if you can't see the keys, but with a bit of practice it's not too hard.
