    My dog is a senior (17 yo). He can no longer go up and down stairs, doesn’t bark, partially deaf and blind, and has dementia. We carry him out 4-5 times a day down stairs to allow him outside to pee/poo. It’s taxing and we can no longer leave him alone without him getting stuck somewhere for hours but I feel such a strong pull towards giving him the best end of life care and love. He served me for so long through so many of my milestones. I want to give that back so we cart him around in a stroller and he travels with us everywhere which means we can only travel by car… I haven’t been on a plane in years.

    How do you treat people and other living entities who can do nothing for you in return? A truly kind and compassionate person will not want anything in return from others. Their happiness is in pleasing the Supreme Lord, not in being praised or acknowledged. If we are given some praise or gift, we can immediately give thanks to the Supreme Lord.

    I suffer with compassion. It hurts so much and at times it’s hurt for days. Some times it’s so strong I can’t shake it off for many days. I’ve hurt for others at times where my whole body hurt. All I could do is lay in bed in agony tossing n turning uncomfortably with thoughts of the person suffering flash back and forth in my mind. This lady was beat and stomped in the head in a ally behind a bar on a cold and icy night she was raped and left naked and barely hanging on to life. That story sent me into a deep state of compassion where I was in tremendous pain for her. I couldn’t stop thinking about what her final thoughts laying there was. Was she scared did she feel the cold ? Did she think this is it for me I’m hurt bad??? Another example was a two year old who was raped and strangled. It hurt so bad. I was unable to even walk because my legs were so weak. I kept wondering if she called out for her mom or daddy was she scared? Did she cry and not understand why he was hurting her. Did she feel all the pain.

    Hey Alex... How are you?
    I just took your Free course on udemy (Listening skills for Leaders)
    I applied the principles ;
    1-I listened people without interrupting them
    2-took genuine interest
    3-made eye contact... Smiled... etc.
    But i have one problem
    Whenever other person finishes the conversation to say Goodbye most of them say to me... Sorry if this conversation make you feeling bore???
    So why everyone say this to me at the end of the conversation...?
    What does it mean?
    Waiting for your answer and upcoming 3 parts of compassion series
    Thanks

      @alexanderlyon  4 роки тому +1

    • @confidencetalks2821
      @confidencetalks2821 4 роки тому +1

      I wonder whether you are just sitting and listening or being an active listener. An active listener nods and adds little encouraging comments whilst the other person is talking, such as: really? go on... that's fascinating... uh huh... right... yes... I know what you mean... All these interjections encourage the talker to feel you are hearing what they are saying and interested in their content.

    Still no examples. Can we hear what compassion sounds like ? Or look like ? We all know it exists, but to apply it needs to be a better “example”. The example with pets said “feelings” and needs to be “cared for”, it fills you with compassion, but what is the act? And what is the use of compassion? I feel compassion with pets but that doesn’t mean I’m applying it the way you’re doing it which I assume is the way I’m trying to

    I thought compassion means "selfless"

    • @alexanderlyon
      @alexanderlyon  3 роки тому

      I can see how you'd put these together. They have some similarity but important differences, too. Selfless means unselfish, or more concerned about the needs of others than one's own needs. Compassions is explained in the video but has more to do with caring about what others are going through and wanting to help, especially when the other person(s) are hurting.

    • @sivaramarajusiv7826
      @sivaramarajusiv7826 2 роки тому

      @@alexanderlyon Some people say Compassion means just doing what is needed in the situation, No more and No less. It is the state of mind in which there is no room "self".
      For example in our workplace, someone might try to hurt us due to pride or some sort of comparative thoughts. If the mind is able to see the whole activity and still remain calm, then it could be referred to as a compassionate mind. Consider the real-time case of Lionel Messi, he is very composed in situations where other players tried to poke him. Still, the mind is composed because there is no room for self inside.
      In your video, you have mentioned things related to self-satisfaction, empathy, and pains due to conflict. In which there is a lot of room for self. It means there is room for anger in such a state of mind.
      The main point I want to say is that Compassion is a state of mind in which there is no room for self. Therefore, I can say it means to be "selfless".
      Maybe my view is limited or different from your analysis.

Accordingly, they (any angel of status quo) were instructed to not bother the Good Heavenly God Lord our Father's creations.
