3300s are grenades, but I stand firmly with you on the rest. I've had two 3800s, one supercharged, two 231s, one a t-type that I put the EFI and intercooler stuff from a GN on, and a 225 in a CJ5, all of which I flogged mercilessly, all of which still ran flawlessly when I sold them. Two things: why did you choose a clip of a badly rod-knocking 3800 series I to show? And also, the N/A 3800 didn't make 240 horsepower, that was the supercharged one (the one in my Regal GS made 248 to the wheels with a pulley, a throttle body, an exhaust and a tune). Great, under-appreciated motors every one. Plus my T-Type and Regal GS were both genuinely fast while being comfortable, inconspicuous, reliable, and kind of shockingly efficient (I averaged 23 mpg in the old turbo and 26 in the GS if I drove them responsibly). I even think they mostly sounded pretty good, and V6s almost always sound TERRIBLE. No replacement for a big, burly V8, but fantastic for a daily driver.

I love the 225 odd-fire V6, I've had 2 of them both in a 1970 & 1970 Arrow-glass ski boats. Bulletproof engines, great torque, could pull up 2 skiers out of the water instantly. They do have a unique sound compared to the 231 v6.

The 225 wasn't the smoothest or quietest of Buicks engines. But it was very good on gas and quite powerful for a six. I had one in a 64 Buick Special, at speeds as high as 70 mph even with a two-speed automatic behind it I had no trouble getting 23 miles per gallon. For a six it didn't waste time getting to 60.

It had a Gross HP rating of 160hp with a 2bbl carb. Net HP with a 1bbl 'miser' carb would be around 90hp or so. If you stuck these in front of a 3 speed automatic, damn thing couldn't get out of its own way, it was so slow. If you advanced the timing, put a 4bbl Holley and stuck with a manual gearbox, the Dauntless was a pretty potent V6.

Kaiser had purchased the 'Fireball' V6 from Buick in 1966, manufactured and installed them in Jeep products through 1970 as the 'Dauntless'. When AMC purchased Jeep they stretched the CJ's nose to accept the AMC inline six and sold the V6 back to GM.

Lol video says 7 best v6 engines. Shows 3 different engines multiple times then shows one that has at least 2 rod knocks. BTW that knocking engine series never made 240hp. They only made that supercharged.

Buick sold the rights and tooling for the Fireball V6 to Kaiser Jeep Corporation in 1966. Kaiser manufactured the 225 'Odd Fire' V6 as 'Dauntless', installing it in Jeep products from 1966 through 1970.
AMC purchased Jeep in '70, stretched the CJ's nose to accept the inline AMC six and sold the V6 back to GM.
"Can you not get anything right?"

Are u f-in joking????? Where’s the 86-87 turbocharged 231 EFI LC2 that was wayyyy ahead of its time. You know the one they put in the regal and made the T-type, Grand National WE2, GNX, and the lightest WE4 Grand National. What happened to that motor? You need to quit drinking that moonshine bro.
And btw the 3.8 shown in this video is far from the 3.8 that sits in a Grand National. A 109 block is make to take more power then all those “boat anchors” put together.

I think your 3800 V6 HP figures are off somewhere, as you give the Naturally Aspirated version at 240hp,then later give the Supercharged version lower HP figures of 205-225 HP. I was a Buick dealer technician when these engines were new (82-99) & the 3800 Supercharged was a high HP, low production option in LeSabre & Park Ave . Otherwise i like the video.
