Kobe didn't switch teams for rings, still has more rings, is more skilled, and didn't run for superstars....if anything superstars ran to him (unless the league stepped in to stop a trade here and there).
Kobe was also a leader during a dynasty....I still don't understand how you can be a GOAT and not lead or create a dynasty or dominate an era, but Lebron apparently is the only one who can do that.

      Your right, it is pathetic.
      Shaq's avg in the finals during the 3-peat: 35.9 PPG - 15.2 RPG - 3.5 APG - 0.7 SPG - 2.9 BPG - 59.1% TS - 3 Finals MVPs
      Kobe's avg in the finals during the 3-peat: 22.0 PPG - 6.1 RPG - 5.1 APG - 1.3 SPG - 1.2 BPG - 50.8% TS - 0 Finals MVPs
Lebron has ALWAYS been the best player on each of his championship teams.
      Lebron 4 MVP - Kobe 1 MVP
      Lebron 4 FMVP - Kobe 2 FMVP
Lebron 20x All Star (and still playing at an elite level) - Kobe 18x All Star
Lebron 19x All NBA - Kobe 15x All NBA
Lebron 1x Scoring Champ - Kobe 2x Scoring Champ (crazy how he only has 1 more scoring title than Lebron despite being a "much better scorer"
Lebron 6x All Defense (2x DPOY runner up) - Kobe 12x All Defensive (1x 3rd place finish)
Lebron 1x Assist Champ - Kobe 0x Assist Champ
Lebron career avg 27.1 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.3 assists - Kobe career avg 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists.
Lebron playoff avg 28.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 7.2 assists in 282 games - Kobe playoff avg 25.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 220.
Lebron career efficency 27.1 PER (2nd only to MJ w/more than 700 games played) - Kobe career efficiency 22.9 PER.
In conclusion, while Kobe is a better scorer than Lebron, Lebron still averages more points than him throughout his career in the regular season AND postseason. Lebron is a much better rebounder, facilitator, and passer compared to Kobe. While Kobe has double Lebron's All-Defensive teams, I'd still take peak Lebron's defense over peak Kobe's defense (2x DPOY runner up to 1x 3rd place finish). Lebron is the more versatile player, can play any position, and plays the game textbook perfect.
I really don't even see an argument for Kobe over Lebron since Lebron has put up better numbers than Kobe in every major statistical category (pts/reb/ass/steals/blocks) on MUCH MUCH better efficiency. Thats the literal definition of a "better player".

@@Max-ys3xgthe only argument for Kobe the video made, amid the slew of immature ad hominems, was that Kobe won championships without all time greats because Pau Gasol wasn’t an all star until 2009. That’s such a weak argument to put Kobe over LeBron. Completely ignores Phil Jackson, underrates Pau and overrates Kyrie.

    • @Max-ys3xg
      @Max-ys3xg 5 місяців тому

Ignores Phil, Shaq being the bus driver for their 3-peat, Pau and Bynum being big reasons why they won 2009 Finals (held prime Dwight to 15 ppg), and massively overrates Kobe's ability to perform in the clutch.
Its honestly amazing how Kobe got the narrative of being "clutch" when all the numbers show that he was one of the worst clutch-time playoff performers EVER.

Meanwhile, LeFlop Drama Queen James' whole legacy is manufactured through media with constant, blatant lies about his accomplishments/stats.
      1. Media never talk about his flops, which he has been doing his entire career.
      2. Media and Bronsexuals always disrespect other all time greats' legacies just so they can hype LeChoke up.
      3. Media and big NBA youtube channels lie about him "clutch" when he clearly isn't. LeChoke would rather pass the ball in the final moments since he is a horrible finisher at clutch time. You don't believe me, then search up "LeBron James clutch shots made: Regular season".
The basketball reference clearly shows that out of 200 sample of "clutch" shots that LeChina took, he only made 15 of them. That's why even in the recent games, you will see him passing the ball or even straight up getting blocked constantly, as in the case of last year's conference finals against Denver.
      4. Media constantly makes excuses for him for all his problems, as shown consistently in Skap's videos. It's all his teammates for some reason, when he basically is the GM of the franchise with how much power he has over players' contractual decisions and he's the one who brought them in.
      5. Refs are very lenient on him with calling fouls for him and against other players. They also just straight up overlook his travels. This is very clearly shown in the recent games with Pelicans. Angry Old Hoops Fan actually did a breakdown video discussing this. Search up "LeBron "Shines" in Blowout Loss to Pelicans".
Overall, LeChoke, LeESPN, and Bronsexuals are all a joke. The only thing they can do is just lie. Not to mention, when discussing legacies and stats, the context only matters when it's favorable to them. So they are also hypocritical in that regard.

The other logic inconsistency i dont get is people routinely consider Magic a top 5 player, Magic and Kobe's career numbers/accolades/personell are similarly ish but somehow Kobe's placement is question, and Magic is unquestionable a top 5 player.

Somehow all of those guys have AT LEAST 4 and Kobe only was given one. I am not holding the fact the media HATED Kobe against him when evaluating him as a player.

Exactly. And his fans call it player empowerment.
The player who was all about player empowerment was Oscar Robertson. He and a few others put their careers on the line for players to get paid more.
Lebron didn't do player empowerment. All he did was cheat the game by taking pay cuts to play with the best players while also holding teams hostage with his player option deals. Then you wonder why teams have a hard time getting good free agents

Even Lebron being top 5 is debatable. No player that is known for losing should be sniffing the top five in anyone's list.
4-6 in the finals. Has the record for most games lost in the finals in NBA history. While playing most of his career in the weak East and with super team after superteam. Also has been swept in the finals TWICE!
And as far as mastering the game of basketball, LeBron has never been in the top 10 of most skilled players in the league in any year that he's been considered the best player in the league. His skill set is limited compared to many other greats. I can go on and on. No player with that many faults should be sniffing the top five. And stats without context are meaningless.
Jordan, Kobe, Kareem, Bird, Magic, then the rest.

    • @skap_attack
      @skap_attack  7 місяців тому +9

I agree completely. LeBron can be in the second grouping of 5 somewhere between 6-10 along with Wilt. Another statistical entity that was 2-4 in the Finals. I mean, Jerry West isn't even considered top 10. His statistical averages are nearly identical for his career as compared to Lebron. He went to 9 finals in his 14 year career. UNFORTUNATELY, he was 1-8 in the finals and WINNING MATTERS. At least it always did until this loser era we currently reside in.

He had been second place in the most points scored in their careers for a very long time behind Kareem. But just because he scored that many points , which again was because of longevity, he was still not considered to be top 10 in most people's eyes. But now LeBron fans want to say LeBron is the goat because he scored a lot of points based on longevity like Kareem and Malone did?

@Shotzzilla kobe has a higher shooting% at longer range 2 pt shots yes. In my opinion, that's irrelevant. A fade away 2 is worth just as many points as a layup is. How you get the points in my opinion doesn't matter. One looks cooler, but it doesn't add any more value than an easier shot does.
Overall, lebron was more efficient for 2 point shots and from 3. He also was better at all the other stats listed. The one thing lobe does have over lebron that I'd consider significant is defensive awards.

It's also important to note that before the Gasol trade, Kobe had the Lakers rolling and looking like a championship contender. The trade only came after Bynum got hurt. The most likely scenario if Bynum stays healthy is that the Lakers make a trade for veteran bench depth or nothing at all. Gasol came to a team that was already playing like a contender. And what was their biggest roster move prior to the season? Derek Fisher...Not some other big name all-star

before we can even have this conversation, an important aspect is that things that le-media uses to detract from kobes legacy/place in the nba greats, is completely ignored or explained away through excuses for lebron(not using the same standard for both players, a.k.a double standard). mainly turnovers, shots missed and HELP.
    for Turnovers:
    lebron(#1) @ 1455 games has 5078 TO's,
    kobe( #5) @ 1346games has 4010 TO's.
( To equal lebron kobe would have had to play 109 more games average 9.79 turnovers for all of them. also stockton @ 1504games has 4244 TO's)
kobe TO's : "he's a ball hogg and an absolutely selfish player"
lebron TO's: "He's the primary/only real ball handler so its only natural"
for shots missed(yes kobe's missed alot and it not great)
kobe(#1): 14.481k missed in 1346games--> "he's just a high volume high risk shot taker unwilling to let anyone else on the team get sufficient attempts"
lebron(#2): 14.179k misses in 1455games --> "he's the only legitimate scoring option/ he has to shoot alot bcz no one else is doing enough/he has no choice"
HELP: there are basically 2 main equations applied in terms of both impact/contribution to wins and as player individually.
    shaq>>>>>>>>>(wade+bosh+ad+kyrie+k-love+dwight+haslem+ray-allen+caruso+rondo)
    OR
    (shaq+pau)>>>>>>>>>>>>>(wade+bosh+ad+kyrie+love+dwight+haslem+ray- allen+caruso+rondo)
there's also a silent yet now universally agreed upon pre-qualifier in these debates in the media( mainstream &players podcasts) that (wade+bosh+ad+kyrie+love+dwight+haslem+ray-allen+caruso+rondo) were all past their prime(tru fr some), were all carried by lebron(regular &post season), lebron was the main reason they won, they were all lower-IQ players that needed lebrons 4-D chess to become better and win, lebron made them all infinitely better players, they owe credit in their legacies to lebron but not the other way round.
point of this post is not to hate on any player, its just to point if ANY NUMBER of players of similar caliber have any SIMILAR NEGATIVE ASPECTS to their game(all players do), then it
HAS TO BE that they be considered in the same way for all those being discussed.

@alfasiger4178 it's goes by the formula of marginal defense/marginal points per win. One of the main reasons why Kobe's defensive win shares are not so high is because during the later half of his career, his help defense was suspect and he would blow defensive assignments and took far too many risk which costed his team games.

Kobe also spoke multiple languages and is better educated, was much more humble putting Wilt as his GOAT, adoring MJ and trying to both mimic but also improve his game, learning from the greats and reading their books (like Bill Russel), and always pushing all day every day. Kobe's work ethic and love of basketball and his singular focus on basketball is legendary and will live well beyond his life.
The media hated Kobe from the beginning and tried to smear him every chance they could. Kobe deserves his accolades, Shaq and MJ both miss him dearly and praise him and defend him highly, and his stats and records speak for himself.
Kobe worked and trained hard, studied the game at an academic and in depth level, constantly watched and studied tape, studied individual players and learned how to guard them the best he possibly could, focused on his weaknesses, perfected his shot constantly, and knew his NBA history far bettet than the clowns in the media and the kids on social media now and respected and learned from the greats.
So happy to see you defend and give Kobe his well deserved credit. I wish I gave him more while he was still with us because I was definitely a Kobe hater, but his achievements speak for themselves. Gone too soon but NEVER forgotten!

LBJ >>>>>>> Kobe. Its not even close. This guy is a Kobe stan and uses "facts' to push his point but doesn't include other stats. What kobe stans like to do is give Kobe 5 rings vs LBJ 4 rings. But Kobe wasn't THE guy for 3 of the 5 rings. Kobe averaged 15 pts in the 1st LA/Shaq Finals. But yall want to count that one right.
Kobe also had the BIGGEST Quit performance from an NBA ALL STAR of all time, game 7 of 2006 NBA Playoffs vs the Suns. In that series, LA was up 3-1 but choked and had to play a game 7. In this game Kobe came out of the 2nd half looking disinterested and just shot 3 times as the suns smacked the Lakers. If you watch that game you can see how he just said i cant win with this team and just passed the ball and stood there. Weak move. Lebron has never done anything like that. LBJ actually did the opposite and beat a 73 win team (GSW) down 3-1 in the finals.
Notice how there wasn't any mention of Metta World Peace, an ALL NBA defender in that section of the Kobe/Gausal era. Hhhmmmm. LBJ ranks as of this post is ALL TIME 1. for points, 4. in assist, 8. in steals and 10 in defensive rebounds. Kobe is only 4. All time for points and doesnt even make the top 10 for assist, steals or rebounds.
Also like I said before Kobe was only the man for 3 of the 5 rings. So heres an real look at it when theyre "the bus driver"

It’s crazy to me how people mention Kareem when it comes to being over Kobe all time and than saying he got carried by Shaq… Kobe in his worst title run still was by far the second most important piece of the team who still was the one to clutch up the most important games when Shaq got hack a shaqed, while Kareem literally was just an alright roleplayer towards their last titles.
Even funnier when they say „he couldn’t do it without Gasol“… I mean you just explained that Gasol was basically a nobody who wouldn’t even dream to be a HoF if he didn’t player with Kobe, but what’s with Kareem? During his absolute prime (age wise), he only got one single championship with one of the most stacked teams ever in 71, not getting another single championship THE WHOLE CENTURY until another top 5 all time player joined him (and a bunch of HoFs along the way as well) yeah but Kobe was carried 😂 it’s really laughable how some criteria only apply to Kobe and Koby only

F yeah bro, F yeah. Pure truth! Kobe disrespect has always been rampant. First in his early career it was bc he came in too close to Jordan's time and media that loved Jordan were not ready to compare the two in any way so he was criminally underrated by the media. Then later when he was just starting to get some love Lebron came in and the media wanted to make him the next big thing and needed to remove Kobe from the conversation to make Jordan vs Lebron a thing. So now again he is criminally underrated. I watched his entire career from first game to last and no one I have ever seen has compared to him except Jordan. I have Jordan 1, Kobe 2 though my favorite player is Kobe. Bron, though a great players is not really close to them for me.
