It's strange Micheal Martin should ask matty mcgrath to apologise for making a fascist remark considering eamonn develera signed a book of condolence to Adolf Hitler in the German embassy in dublin

The Romans kept away from Ireland. The Irish are both intellectual and religious; a combination which does not exist elsewhere as when The Age of Reason came many got on board with it and left the mythic and symbolic behind; seeing it as rubbish, which was a big mistake. We are rational beings and also non-rational beings (represented by religion and myth). The two combined keeps us balanced and sane, otherwise we would be one-dimensional which is never good and can be problematic; leading to bad outcomes.

not really sure what relevance the Romans have to this comment to be honest. Although it's not true to say the Romans kept away from Ireland, They never conquored Ireland but there was 100% cultural and commerical exchange between the Romans and Gaelic Ireland.

It is interesting to note that although Schrodinger was able to get his "mistress, " Hilde March, and their daughter into the country he was unable to get March's husband into the country as well. This is what ultimately caused the family to leave Ireland.

With what happened in East Wall earlier this year, these kinds of discussions are only becoming more important.

I knew about the Donegal Corridor and a few other bits, so this is a good addition to my knowledge! I think I understand now why my Volunteer great-grandfathers didn't go back to Ireland in the '30s.

The building of the 'new Capital' at Tara is puzzling....I mean...why not Cork?
    ( Sorry...couldn't resist).

Architects of the Resurrection By R.M. Douglas is a fantastic deep dive into Ailtirí na hAiséirghe. Your video gave an accurate overview of the party. However, your Irish pronunciation needs some work. Great video!

Eye opening stuff! Keep it up. It's easy to look back today and say, "what were they thinking?" as Hitlers barbaric actions in the 40s were yet to come. But, the anti Jewish feelings amongst some , e.g Oliver Flanagan didn't come out of nowhere.

Excellent video! So, I learned today that the Irish civil service was riddled with actual Nazis and they were grand with that.

I've only just found and subscribed to this excellent channel.
However, I was distressed to see that the last video was put up two years ago.
I hope this is because the presenter has found employment and not because anything untoward has befallen him

Thanks for your video. Much of your information is very disheartening to hear. So much for the theory that the repressed have a better insight into others being repressed. I would have liked to have thought the Irish were better but it is more like, at best, they were very mediocre. Sigh.

Beacon ? You are one of the few countries who did not actually fight against the Nazi's. Many Irishman did fight but Ireland remained neutral. Hardly a beacon.
