The rusted cybertruck comment is freaking hillarious in hindsight. 😂
Clearly, someone failed to impress the "send out the silver play button" algorithm. Yours looks better anyhow.
yeah it's absolute funny it made the algorithm
Algorithm
wonder choice of placement, the most stylish bathroom in the world.
You should have used a digital counter for the subscriber number, so it would always remain accurate!
With an Arduino that checks the interwebs for the correct number! Genius.
This is a great idea. I’ll use it for the gold play button award.
@@SuperfastMatt well what are you doing responding to messages? You better learn a faster way to hack the algorithm. Ha ha. Love your stuff.
@@SuperfastMatt Now if every subscriber would get their entire family and all of their friends to subscribe, u could make that gold play button tomorrow.
All hail the power of family(and friends)
@@stefiecom The "Superfast Matt subscriber pyramid scheme". I love it !
Just recruit 10 people to subscribe, and they all have to recruit 10 people, and so on...... Then in less than a year Matt will be a superstar.
Mind you, I could see the sudden fame and fortune going to his head. Before we know it he'd be too busy snorting illicit substances out of the belly buttons of expensive women to ever get the Jag finished. :D
You've impressed this people. All hail the algorithm.
They never sent me mine after being over 100k for 6 months. I finally got on the tech support chat asked why and they did a song and dance. This took another 3 weeks of BS before I got mine. Another friend of mine was at over 200k when they out of the blue sent him one LOL
It's always been my understanding that it doesn't happen automatically. You have to request an award be sent to you.
@@UnitSe7en Incorrect been a youtuber for 10 years. The system used to auto confirm at 105K and contact for an Email. During the summer before Corvid. Something in the system got messed up and UA-cam has never bothered to care to fix it. They fixed the one for 1mil but do not care if we hit 100k now. And to top it off if you ever need a new one to replace it its $45 they charge you for it after shipping.
@@redneckcomputergeek there's likely hundreds of thousands of youtube channels with 100k+ subs, youtube just doesn't bother anymore
@@evilassjitnem I'm surprised Matt didn't refer back to the older play button design, where it used to be a cast(?) 3D play button that looked more expensive. EEVBlog has a video on the change: ua-cam.com/video/PFC0WxTuNzU/v-deo.html
5:00 : I'm french and confirm that "Je ne sais quoi" is french for "rusted metal". All hail the algorithm.
And "Je ne pige que dalle" means All Hail the Algorithm ....?
@@honthirty_ precisely. I see you're fluent.
As a laser operator, thank you for mentioning some of the nitty gritty details. We catch shit ALL THE TIME because we can't cut hair thin features into 1" thick steel plate (which is always rusty and bent), usually I can get to about 1/4 or 1/3 the material thickness before we start having issues but yes, you are completely right that 1/2 of the material thickness is a fairly comfortable guideline.
My laser beam is 0.012" to 0.016" wide, I have no reliable control over the thickness and as such, I cannot cut anything narrower but people can't seem to grasp the fact that there IS a fixed minimum.
Kerf always exists. Working with Joe Q. Public is the worst part of any job.
Excellent addition to the throne room, Your Highness!
Of course you would engineer your own play button. Wouldn’t expect any less!
Perfect place to mount it once it was done, too! Loved it, Matt! 😂
I love the final touch of hanging it in the toilet lol
It's the perfect cherry on top haha
Best plaque placement...for those moments of deep reflection
Surprised the lettering was not reversed so you could read it easier in the BR mirror.
I can’t believe that Super fast Matt just managed to make the cyber truck cool….
Indeed. Someone should call Elon.
That is actually quite brilliant. That rusted version could be sold for a steep premium. It certainly looks better than the plain SS one.
What about a titanium cybertruck? 🤔🤑
Congrats! Taking inspiration from you once again. When I get above 1 subscriber, I'm going to make my own Play Button Award out of carboard.
Ha ha!
Got it😂😂
I put it on notify all so that I could see the button. I am, of course, assuming that I will forgotten this completely by the time you actually make a cardboard button award, so I will be very confused at why *that* showed up in my notifications.
It was all interesting, but the ending was hilarious. Wise old saying; "It is better to be pissed off than pissed on."
this is a button with a story (even a good one, dating back to the red envelope) and with character, just like your channel... even if they send you their of-the-shelf button in the end... please stick with this one... and congratulations. well deserved. your videos never fail to lighten up my day, even when it is a bad day
Its somehow fitting that a maker channel actually will earn adsense revenue from youtube for a video about making a standin for the award they forgot to send you. Plus your humour just cracks me up. All hail etc, Yay.
My guess for the secret project is an F1 inspired shifter kart. The carbon fiber looked like an F1 steering wheel and the engine looks like a BMW parallel twin street bike motor, not sure which though. Whatever it is should be fun regardless!
Matt already build a few of those
only the best DIY UA-cam channels DIY their play button awards.
Congrats on the milestone. Well deserved imo. Great work all round. Bravo
Much much much better than UA-camrs "everyone gets the same thing no matter how much better your channel is" placard.
Great job Matt
It would be awesome if UA-cam had a department who designed channel appropriate one off play button awards for their "Flagship" channels. It would show the world that they actually understand how some creators go above and beyond to make great content and have EARNT their play button, rather than getting half a million subscribers purely through being a pretty b1mbo who uploads weekly videos of them trying on and reviewing whatever swimsuits and under garments they'd bought that week..........
Maybe Matt could cater to THAT market as well though? "Hi, I"m Matt. This week I'm going to be fitting some of the Jaguar's interior, and trying on a few brands of underwear I bought". LOL !
Mine took around 3 months and it only came when I chased it up. Yours looks much better though ;)
Yes. You have to manually request an award - They don't send it automatically.
love the placement reveal at the very end 🤣😂
Wow, I learned quite a few things in this video! I didn't realize you could sand and re-brush materials, I didn't know there were materials made specifically to rust, and I didn't know there was a company I could send a file and get laser cut parts in various materials.
SuperfastMatt and This Old Tony should make a project together, the quality of the dad jokes alone would be life-changing.
Agreed! 😂👍🏻
That last cut to the plaque hanging above the head was quite the statement. I don't entirely know what statement that is yet.
When you hung it above the toilet it reminded me of Back to the Future cuz he was hanging a clock above his toilet when he slipped and fell and made the flux capacitor didn't know if that's what you were referencing
OMG Hilarious That Superfast Matt can't wait for the real thing taking matters into your own hands. Well done sir. I like the way you think. But that chair?
Congratulations! Your channel is still very underrated. I see a million coming up sooner that 100k took.
Matt might be superfast, but UA-cam sure isn't
Perfect placement... You will see it multiple times a day...
Well done my man.
I love this approach, stickin it to the man! For all us over achievers who got wisked under the rug! You go!!!!👍🏼
Matt, you make my day every time you post. UA-cam is undeserving.
Sarcasm is for those who know they can do better than others and really want them to know it (but in a way they won't comprehend). Love your sarcastic attitude and bent. Oh and the plaque turned out well too...... ;-)
That chair is amazing. Did you get it from the Alice in Wonderland set?
Congrats on the milestone! Love that last scene! haha
"Rusted Cybertruck" LOL!. So on point right now.
We are each proud that we are each a partial reason that UA-cam almost gave you one of these.
I love the one you made. Great job!
Great job, Matt! You never cease to AMAZE!!!
Sick. Congrats Matt!
You are on the list. There is a significant backlog. The pandemic pushed a lot of channels over 100k.
Yeah, the pandemic ate my sandwich too!
Good thing they've got all the time in the world to deactivate the dislike function of their website though.
Doesn't help that the play button is not only made in China, but also shipped directly from there.
So shipping is also an issue.
But they have so much time to demonetize and cancel channels that offend their politics.
@@Channel-gz9hm We disabled something else too... and nobody talks about it....
waaaay cooler than a legit YT button.
Also, the birthday card story - it is hilarious. Proper hilarious and I hope people you used to work with see this video and go "hang on a minute".
I really did LOL during this one. Well done.
Love your work 👍
I love the social comment towards the end. Perfect!
Send Cut Send is really working out well for your channel!
This is the second coolest playbutton on youtube! (i have to give LTT's pc inside the diamond playbutton the win, it's a piece of art.)
This is one of the best channels, I've only watched a few videos, but the mix of sarcastic humor and pure genius is amazing.
Love the placement!
Started this video trying to hate the idea of making a "fake" play button. Finished the video feeling like an idiot because that looks SO much cooler than ANY play button that UA-cam could dream of making! Well done sir!
Got a good chuckle out of the closing shot. Well played.
I found your channel just a few days ago but fell in love with the content and delivery. As a studying vehichle enginner you inspire me greatly ! Keep up the good content , best of luck !!
the reveal of it hanging in the bathroom was perfect lmaoo
Bravo, SFM, bravo.
Love your work.
Love where it's hanging. :) Keep up the snark, it's wonderful
That is exactly where I would put it Matt. Kudos.
The throne is the perfect place for any award. That way you don't have to invite guests into your office space for them to see it.
Also the big chair is really cool and suits that workplace story.
Beautiful work. Just lovely. Perfect placement too.
Oh man, you are sooo cool! Loved EVERY part of this video, especially your choice of where to display it. Love it!!
Love this! It looks so good!
This play button is perfect, and perfectly placed ^^
Still, your videos are good and you deserve the credit.
Thanks for sharing !
Color me blue, straw yellow and impressed! All hail the algorithm!
Finish was a nice touch - congrats Matt! :-) Loved the red envelope gag, too :-)
Much congrats man :D found your channel by the Make Your Own Damn Wiring Harness and started binging your channel after that. Love the content you produce and the sense of humor
Fantastic. Next up, everyone now wants your version over the authentic ones.
A rusted metal Cybertruck would be AWESOME !
I love the location you picked for it :-) and please keep us posted on the copyright issues ;-)
A few videos ago, I rounded 50 of SuperfastMatt videos watched.
Nobody seemed to notice though…
I had kind of expected some recognition, a “good job”, maybe a coffee…
But rather than wallowing in self pity, I chose to reward myself with a SuperfastMug.
I believe it’s some kind of Kaolin core with a ceramic flux on top. I’m just happy I’m not putting it together.
« Fine, I’ll do it myself ! »
All hail the algorithm. How awesome was that! Absoute love the place you hung it
I lost it and started laughing at your award placement location......
Matt is the Algorithm personified. Likely lives in the Uncanny Valley. What a blast.
Killing it as always, Matt!
Great idea, great project and great humor.
Love the location 👍👍
Expertly placed above that toilet there... Very impressed!
In a good story, UA-cam would send a custom silver play button with a mechanic sub counter.
look fantastic. great placement
Well done and well placed
Je ne sais quoi" in french means rusted metal🤣
I love the way you teach french.
Love, love, love the way you've chosen to display your Play Button. Apropos. Thanks for sharing your adventures; they are both entertaining and educational.
The mount location is fitting!
That was epic !! ,great job !
Hilarious closing shot!
Thank you for the laugh at the very last part of the video
Spot on placement at the end!
I LOL'ed at the chosen display location...well played.
Im a big fan!
Im looking forward on more vids of the jag!
Cheers from the nort north atlantic!
you placed it right in the inspiration room :))
YOU, sir, are my personal hero!!! Well done!
Glad to see you put it in the office
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!
The hanging choice, such finesse
Well played, well played.
Damn that's a nice play button
I also joined a young company with about twenty employees.
We also passed birthday cards around.
We also got too large to do that.
And we also stopped on my birthday.
My consolation that first birthday we no longer really did it, was the card that would have gone round. Unsigned.
I also live just round the corner from that first rusted building example.
Weird.
Both the award as the birthday card story are hilarious :))
Brilliant Matt. I like your style of humour.
