When I was a kid, a friend of mine showed me a trick to hack mobile phones. They were small nokia phones usually having camera, internet etc., you download a FTP app and then connect to another device as a bluetooth connection but using FTP. As the other device lets you connect, you were able to view all the files in their phones/SD Card, copy/delete, and perform some other functions. I was amazed with the trick. This video reminded me of that event and busted the myth. Thank you Jeremy

Does anyone used boson yet? I used it last night got until question #25 and i had 2 questions regarding EIGRP which is not included on the actual exam topic list as far as i know. Or maybe it is included?
You do need to know some basics about EIGRP, which is why I include it in the course! Know how it's similar to/different than other routing protocols, etc.

What is the point of TFTP selecting a random port? Why couldn't it just use its well known port UDP 69 during the whole process of exchanging the data?
For simultaneous transfers. Remember that TFTP is a very rudimentary file transfer. You won’t typically have a client that could manage multiple transfers over one port. Therefore TFTP uses several ephemeral ports to solve this and allow for multiple transfers. Also for security.
Jeremy, when trying out the lab to copy the new ios versions using ftp and tftp, it kept on timing out, hence not working. I configured all ip and routes on both routers. Pls what am i doing wrong? thanks

Hey Jeremy, long time fan btw. When my friend refers to RJ-45 UTP PATCH CABLE as "Ethernet Cable" I get annoyed and tell him to refer to it as the former, am I in the wrong here?
As someone with 2 CCIEs I must say "Garry Larry" that you should keep correcting your friend's lack of proper terminology use. Next thing you know these people will just call it "cable" all so they can spare some breath.
Jeremy! Im trying to figure out if Im ready for my exam. Im consistently scoring 920-950 on Boson ExSim on Simulation mode, no notes, with 40+ minutes to spare. But ive used it as a study tool along with your course and Neil on Udemy as well as the official cert guides. I just fear that im starting to memorize the questions on the 3 Boson exams.. Would you say Boson is harder or easier than the real thing, and do you think those scores qualify is being ready?
The hardware specifications of different routers/switches isn’t a CCNA exam topic, so I don’t plan to. But that info can be found easily on Cisco’s site if you need it!

You describe FTP Active & Passive without mentioning the TCP Connection before the FTP Control Connection. Does that mean they are established without a prior TCP Connection? This doesn't make sense to me! Each connection type needs a prior TCP Connection, no?
Hi Jeremy, I've a small question In the 6th minute you gave an example of the timers used in TFTP; in the same, if I understand correctly, why is it that the server doesn't resend the data when it doesn't receive an Ack from the client in the stipulated time; or how does the server know for sure that the data has reached the client and it should wait for an Ack

You do need to know some basics about EIGRP, which is why I include it in the course! Know how it's similar to/different than other routing protocols, etc.

You're not in the wrong, but 'ethernet cable' has become such as common way of saying it that I'd just let it go haha

If I understand other study material correctly, TID is also used on FTP, not only TFTP?
In passive mode it uses a similar concept, although I haven't heard it called a TID.

They’ll have different IP addresses, so it’s not a problem.

You're right that the server would probably re-send the data before the client would try to re-send the ack.
