(Just a word of advice…..okay ….more words….make sure the buttons are washable…..block before adding buttons (helps with button positioning and you can block again, if necessary, after)….then have a congratulatory beverage of choice. 😉 The construction of the Stephen West socks was SO fun! Very enjoyable to knit and I love your color choices. (Will be holding you to your sock dance promise) You should definitely be proud of yourself for all the progress! I’m working on socks (multiple pairs-some vanilla, Wooly Waffle socks and one with colorwork), a cowl (Turkey Tail Cowl) and maybe I’ll start Stephen’s Picnic Shawl (depends on the weather) as a warm up to October😂. I’m really looking forward to seeing your completed Geogradient shawl. It really intrigues me how alike but different Mark and your shawls are. Keep up the good work! (Crochet is allowed 🤣)

And cool to see Mark’s shawl up close where you see the nuances. My two main projects now are a secret scarf in hønsestrik technique, and a test knit for a sweater.
Good job Martin🥰! You should be really proud of your progress! I knit and crochet so I love whatever you share. At the moment I just finnished crocheting a bunting line for Christmas decoration using left over "christmassy" yarns. I also crochet a temperature blanket and I'm up to date on that project. I also have some knitting VIPs - a pair of socks för a KAL that ends in September, a pair of half mittens på Hagenhuset (Lykke) using left over yarns and my first ever top down knitting in the round sweater. The latter is a real challenge to me who always knitted down up and in the flat on pair needles. Oh, and I'm "team DPN" as well. The socks and the half mittens are both knitted on DPNs.
I also cross stitch. There we have finished objects(FO) = no more stitching. Then fully finished object(FFO) = finished off. So the jumper is FO, after sewing in ends, buttons and blocking will be FFO
Love all the projects especially Marks shawl, great color choices. I'm working on an Emotional Support Chicken. I put it down for a while and just started back up now that I've seen all your beautiful things.
I am very impressed you only had to rip out your brioche heel once. I ripped out mine at least 6 different times and it took all weekend to learn the stitch. Wish I had know about the video Stephen West had put together on fixing a mistake. But ho hum all is well and I made it through. 😀

13th and 14th September is the Saturday and Sunday you're talking about. I'm not going, I just know that the 12th is our wedding anniversary and that the 14th is the Last Night of the Proms! With Stephen's finished socks, I thought they had an 80s/90s theme - yours just strengthen that vibe. When you said 'Bananaman', my brain immediately went '... so the other one's SuperTed?'! Something about the combination of the wavy lines and then the geometry of the top of the foot says that some sort of time frame to me.
Hi Martyn, so jealous of your neat seaming! Well done! And great progress this week. I’ve definitely finished more crochet projects this year than knitting - helped with being lots of Toft projects which are smaller - and not helped by keep changing my mind about what I want to knit. I’ve been in a knitting frame of mind recently but almost forcing myself to crochet to finish some projects and tick them off my MAL list. Think I’m going to put them away for now and focus on my knitting projects for a bit.
I'm not an instagram user but enjoy watching you here. I got distracted while waiting for clue 3 for the SSAL and still need to pick them up again. That will happen when I finish my current gift knit.

My goal since April has been get things done and dusted, off my needles… so Andrea mowry 6 skein cinnabar shawl (mar to may kal) lol finished July 22. Westknits twists and turns sat time out half clue 1 for over a year. 20 min a day since April. I’m 1/3 done clue 4. I gotta hurry b4 new mkal now. Love those poppertunity socks! First cardigan I've knitted, it's a really well written pattern in sizes up to age 10 so I thought of you! Yes, you can have as many proud moments as you want !!! Nice to have some knitting on this episode. You could ply your art yarn with a mohair then it woudn't be too thick. I just finished a Rock It Tee, 200gr, unusual for my size, light as a cloud and so so soft ... Mark must be wondering when his sweater will be finished ...

You could have finished 2 MKALs if we didn’t have to start Clue 1 again and again (and again for me). And then you had all of those prizes to make for Pride month. Sad that I didn’t win-I really wanted that woven wrap. Mark’s Shawl looks fabulous and the dip stitches weren’t THAT terrible. And I did 7 stripes and the fringe. Now I finished mine in December. Before Christmas as I did start the HKAL on time.

I haven't even finished week 2 of last year's mystery knit along so I don't know why I am already thinking about this years but I do plan to do it. I put in a little time here and there. I think its my yarn choice that has made me nt really love knitting on it. I can officially say I am not really into holds supersoft held single. Its not my jam and its so stiff and thin its fiddly. I think if I had used a softer yarn like a sock yarn I would have gotten much farther.

I love the Stephen West socks. When I was a child Black Jacks and Fruit Salads were 2 for a halfpenny, the old halfpenny not the new one.

You could have finished 2 MKALs if we didn’t have to start Clue 1 again and again (and again for me). And then you had all of those prizes to make for Pride month. Sad that I didn’t win-I really wanted that woven wrap. Mark’s Shawl looks fabulous and the dip stitches weren’t THAT terrible. And I did 7 stripes and the fringe. Now I finished mine in December. Before Christmas as I did start the HKAL on time.

I haven't even finished week 2 of last year's mystery knit along so I don't know why I am already thinking about this years but I do plan to do it. I put in a little time here and there. I think its my yarn choice that has made me nt really love knitting on it. I can officially say I am not really into holds supersoft held single. Its not my jam and its so stiff and thin its fiddly. I think if I had used a softer yarn like a sock yarn I would have gotten much farther.
Move to the northwest/northeast/Scotland. the south can keep that heat!
