you make it looks so easy, thanks for posting. i'm tossing the idea back and forth in my head whether or not i'm going to make custom sheaths/holsters. i've made two so far and am pleased with the results. definitely the 2nd one is better than the 1st. but like i said, you make this look too easy, which means there's a learning curve lurking around in there ;-) thanks again.
Could see I would like to see a video where they take the codex and they go from the handle grip of the gun down around the barrel and back up to the grip of the gun to mold the kydex that way the bottom of the gun is solid off and round it to make it more comfortable for kidney carry and would be nice to taking covered lens on a light fixture on a gun too because then you have a piece of kydex protecting the lens on your light
I kept thinking "dang that voice sounds familiar". Glad you got your BLT former, I haven't seen you since, I think, the January show in Columbus. Nice video, thanks for posting.
I'm Subscribing and looking forward to your future Videos! I can only imagine how busy you are so ill say Thank you for taking the time to demonstrate quality built holsters! I just sent an Facebook Message, I hope you can help me when ever you have time. Thank You from AnthonyC.
sascustomholsters I have a question: Since the holster is curved to contour to your hip, is the "definition" of the gun on the back side of the holster (as is evident at: 5:58 ) vital for retention of the gun in the holster? If not, would it be better if the curved jig were made of something solid, instead of foam?
Hi SAS. I'm wanting a holster with a clip that is adjustable. Not where you have to loosen screws, but indents. I've seen the clips for kydex holsters for knives. I think it had five indents for different cants and the clip was 1.5". I want this for a Shield that will be worn appendix. When I sit the gun and holster dig into my gut. The cant that can be manipulated will prevent this, then when I stand up I reset it to vertical. Doable? Thanks!
Do you find with the 90/10 that the belt loops everyone uses on a 50/50 don't hold in place as tightly on a belt? It just seems like they would slide quite a bit easier...
have you ever had any problems with using real guns rather then blue guns? I am worried about deforming the gun with the high temps and pressure. also what psi to you vacuum to? Thanks
Make sure you insert the mag in the magwell. This will help; also do not overheat your KYDEX. I am not going to lie I have deformed two poly grips, both were Glocks. I just used to much heat and pressure and no mag. This was some time ago when I was using a book style press. I use 8 CFM of vacuum.
Just one I haven't gotten yet. Would take approx. 2-3 weeks to get unless supplier has in stock. You can order from my website www.sascustomholsters.com thank you.
+David Tyree From my research, 1/32" thick silicone rubber sheet, high temp, 40A durometer(soft) sheet. 12"x12" sheets from Grainger and Mcmaster-Carr. McMaster has sheets even bigger, like 24x24 if necessary, but much more expensive. 12x12 from grainger, at this moment are only like 6 or 7 bucks ea.
My email was deleted due to nothing received from either person. My price for them is far less than what you can get them anywhere else for but of course you don't know me from Adam and probably don't trust me...so go spend $500 and end up with shit. Bye.

Hi, could you tell me what material is the orange membrane on the vacuum?
I kept thinking "dang that voice sounds familiar". Glad you got your BLT former, I haven't seen you since, I think, the January show in Columbus. Nice video, thanks for posting.
what do you use as the membrane?
Where did you buy the vacuum forming machine? Also, the curved jig. Can you show it in detail and talk about how you made it, materials, etc?

I would have to say I wouldn't know. I have never tried without the foam. It would just have to be tried and tested, Sorry I wasn't more help.

Are you using a surge tank?
Anguinus Vir I really like that vacuum press. Who/Where can I get one ? You mentioned a first name. I think it was Les.
Dragonflail - Thermapress.com. They have the complete units or just the silicone with plans to make your own. The unit he has is made by them.

Dragonflail - You can make one yourself for ~$200
Solicito um coldre para Brasil...pistola modelo 638. faria?
341D11 Bravo it takes me 55 seconds on a t shirt press.
You are wasting material. There's no reason to cover the gun that far up
He's only going to get one holster per sheet anyway. Plus kydex is cheap :)
