Of course we have phones. The problem is, we all know exactly how phone games play.
My problem is: Why the fuck would I want to play a game on my phone when I have a PC? Like, do people actually choose to play games on their phones when there is ANYTHING else available? I'm assuming yes, but for me I'm just NOT going to choose my phone. To be honest, if I'm in a place where I can only choose my phone to play something then chances are that I'm doing something in which it would be rude to be using my phone or there is something more fun or interesting than my phone available. I'd hate to see the day where you go to see a comedian or something and everyone's just playing Diablo on their phones..
@@AreBawesome you would want to play on your phone for the same reason people want a portable console.
@@AreBawesome I play AAA games on my pc and also play some mobile games on my phone. I like some to be honest the problem here is that is Diablo, a game originally made for pc that many actually wanted a proper secuel. @@jackyyo1998 No, I would never want too play on my phone. For other people they can do whatever they like of course, but I did say: "I'm assuming yes [In relation to people choosing a phone game over other things], but for me I'm just NOT going to choose my phone."
@@MrOverTyrant That's good for you and all, but the post is about me and I wouldn't do it. I also can't be the only one who feels the way that I feel but I do state "I'm assuming yes" in relation to others choosing phones over other things.

That sad moment when you go to the BlizzCon with no real expectations and the Devs still manage to disappoint you.
My understanding is that the expectation was exactly the problem. For example, Path of Exile and Warframe have both announced mobile version to generally positive feedback. The difference is, they didn't bait and switch. If I recall correctly (and I might not), Blizz hinted at Diablo content. And it's Blizzcon, so this has to be a huge announcement! People are expecting Diablo3 expansion. The hopeful are expecting even Diablo 4. Then they get there and it's nothing for any of their games, but instead it's some little diablo mobile spin off.
IMO, the diablo spinoff would have been received well if they announced it with a smaller announcement, not with a Blizzcon keynote haha.
@@smitty7326no, your smoking bs. Have you played immortal? It was ALWAYS going to be a cash - grab shill that they sold with the name DIABLO

This game might be getting backlash in the west, but you know *at least* it'll succeed in Asia. Mobile is like the biggest market there.
I can guarantee they know exactly why they're getting booed, but they're not in a position to - on stage in-front of all their audience - start making up promises of a PC version or start making up or guessing a new road-map for this game when right now they've been told to focus on mobile only and that's what they've been doing.

Sure Blizz, we all have phones. And we all know how to use the Dislike button on your Diablo videos and how to write reviews for your games. Thanks for reminding us.
Leaving a review for a game if you haven't played it is just dumb
A company taking one of their best PC IP and taking it to mobile just to cash crab on loot boxes (Which you can bet your pumpkin ass there'll be) is just dumb.
I'd stop calling them blizzard and just call them Activision now.
Holy childish reaction. Gonna call the negative review brigade because you don't like the idea of a game. That's dumb as hell
@@janawham3296 ''Call the negative review brigade'' ya man, I got all their phone numbers, we meet up once a month at McDonald. Seriously though that statement is just as retarded as Blizz taking their PC games to Mobile.
I can't see how Blizzard didn't see this coming. They had ALL the data from player reactions to Diablo 3's launch, and its loot system hampered by incentive to promote the Real money auction house. They even had to put in the effort to redo the whole system away from the unpopular recurrent player spending model. Blizzard had all of that on record. What suit decided to take that data, throw it in the trash, and set it on fire? Or maybe there was a mind-wipe in the company.
The Diablo game-loop isn't just about the graphics and combat, but the entire game play loop designed to constantly reward the player for putting in time over all aspects of loot and power. Thus it is incredibly important to get the pacing of gains between upgrades and side-grades just right. That includes abilities, power, and visual upgrades. What kept us playing was the constant feeling that we were always just minutes away from the next cool upgrade, even if it turned to 20 or 30 minutes. I can't turn it off now!
Any addition to involve recurrent player spending jumps right into that loop and artificially retards the process enough to make the player feel uncomfortable. Thus killing the exact balanced formula that made the series beloved in the first place. The Diablo formula is just not compatible with the ftp mobile business model. Progress should only be temporarily slowed (or killed in hardcore) only by facing too tough a challenge, not permanently slowed by a pricing model designed to do so. Doing this after knowing how the auction house affected Diablo is like having a business plan fail and then coming back to do the same plan and, to borrow a Jay Wilson quote, "double it".
"What kept us playing was the constant feeling that we were always just minutes away from the next cool upgrade".
Then you're a zombie, conditioned to play because of an algorithmically generated feedback loop. The reason gaming is bad today are muppets like you who sponsor shit like Diablo 3, cartoonish fairy tales that are nothing like the masterpieces of gameplay and atmosphere that Diablo and Diablo 2 were.
Tom You can have your opinions, and I know you are as miffed about it as I, but don’t read into this wrong and start attacking everybody. I didn’t say it was the only thing keeping us coming back, but it is still a key requirement. A great story and atmosphere with a bad game design is still a bad game.
For those of us who came from the era of games Diablo was based off of, It was a key gameplay loop and our imaginations. The story was we were a rogue, and the end was getting the amulet out of there. Fact is, how much importance each part of those two balances differed from Diablo fan to Diablo fan since 1 and 2. And that’s ok. Neither, leads up to the issues we face here.

I disagree, all of their data came from very young children, who are the overwhelming largest market of users. They all want these games on their mom's ipad/iphone so they can play it, becasue their parent won't/can't get them a console. This data construes what the loyal hardcore playerbase actually wants, who are usually making long and detailed forum posts, like yours above, that no one reads. Because again, the majority are children who just want fortnite and minecraft games on mom's phone.

If you are going to build something for a specific market, do not present it to a market that has no interest in it.
Imagine actually thinking it was about them not having phones 💀🤡💀🤡
the day that blizzard announced that "they're no longer a game company" to the world
Still a classic
It ages better year after year. The fact that they later came out and said that Diablo 3 development, including a 2nd expansion, was cancelled to put it all into Diablo: Immortal just proves we were right all along. The plan was in fact to replace the core PC audience with phone monetization.
Do you guys not have CREDIT CARDS??
"Do you guys not have phones?"
Wow. Just... Wow. How to alienate your entire fanbase in 6 easy words.
They should have booed them off stage
Everyone feared that this game will be a flop and it did, what a suprise
Do you guys have market research?
That moment when Blizzard finds out that none of us have phones
I saw this pop up in the play store before hearing about it anywhere else and thought it was a joke...
"do you guys not have phones" knowing full and well everyone does but fails to acknowledge why despite that fact everyone booed...
Did these guys get fired? I didnt see them at the D4 announcement this year
Serious question, what things is he referring to when he says we've been begging for certain mechanics for D3 that are in D:I?
"Do you guys not have phones?"
Question is, do *YOU* not have phones? There's a reason why we play on PC with a mouse and keyboard, big screen, stable internet connection. Not on our damn phones.
As a kid I had great respect and admiration for Blizzard. But I can't say that anymore considering how it's $$$ over fans.
I like to believe that they truly cared about their players once. But their past decisions do not reflect that anymore.
Gamers out there, remember to support good and honest game developers! There are a bunch of great ones out there.
Thier not just blizzard anymore thier Activision blizzard
Blizzard hasn't cared about the players since Diablo 2. Where have you been for the past 18 years?
A bunch? Not really, unless you count those that make semi-irrelevant indie titles...
@@kchocobo598 This aged so poorly, jesus christ.
"it's also on the Switch, you're right."
Where?
They made it more p2w than anybody in that room could even imagine, Chapeau!
Diablo's team has proved that Wow's team isn't a stand out in Activision-Blizzard when it comes to ignoring feedback/concern about their games. They are right about their games and the players are wrong and should just play their games and buy their content, there is no brooking any conversations about what can make the games better.
“You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”
“Do you guys not have phones?” Worst answer ever....
Will this Diablo be released on the Ouya?
don't you guys have phones...and 500k?
Yes i have a phone.
I use it for everything else than playing games.
Games+phone is for children age 2-5 difficulty banana 5
And addicted or rich asians.
Do you guys still have PCs? I mean, excepting the work laptop super restricted with no admin rights?
Why is “booed” in quotes?
Not dissapointed with this game anymore, they promised to make it a "mobile game" and they delivered, you can even spend your entire retirement fund just to play the game too!
*Do you guys not have calculators?*
Did he say at the end "its also on the switch, you are right!" ?? I'm confused.
I'm from the future, it's bad, guys. Really bad
