What u mean “literally” bro? XD u mean exactly the opposite, that guitar is metaphorically crying. Stop using literally in almost every sentence dude it’s fkn stupid
You can see the top of my hat directly in front of the camera in this video and that was the first thing I said to the person next to me after it ended. He looked so sad singing it
I'm pretty sure a lot of that is from his vocal rupture. He had a very hard time singing high notes like that, and has to crouch down to help himself get that high.
I was holding back my tears at the concert. I even forgot to light up my phone to honour the rev because I was trying to hard to get a grip 😢 m shadows speech during the concert was so true it felt so real
he's struggling so much to deliver these vocals to us, these are getting harder and harder (than it already is) as his age increases. This guy is an absolute legend. Try to cover his vocals or this part of the song, its nigh impossible. Matt is clearly top tier, one of the best to ever grace the genre
Jeeez, SO much passion behind those vocals. Instant goosebumps. Matt is easily one of the best vocalists in rock of all time. Saw them two nights ago and they were pretty much perfect live
This made me cry. Life goes by so quick. I don’t want to lose anyone anymore. I love everyone and wish everyone the best in this short time we have together ❤
I love how even when addressing something as tragic as the loss of the rev matt turns it into an uplifting and celebratory speech. Oh and he also killed that shit
Matt was literally CRYING!! This is one kf the most heartbreaking songs and the fact that the pain is so strong even after all these years really speaks for itself! This band will never be the same! He was not only key role in the band, but also a great friend! R.I.P REV!
I love this clip because Matt is going beyond his range that he can comfortably sing these days, but still pushes through. It's a very hard place to sing in, with the type of voice that Matt sings in. But he fights to pull that part off in live performances because of the fans, and of course, because of Jimmy. That's true love.
Thanks for putting it into words lol People don't get he's critical hurting himself (or getting back into the groove) the way he says there it goes at the end it's like maybe he can sing like he used to and is worried to do so
Love it 💛 My student learned this song when she was only playing for a couple months and it really means a lot to her! And she was at this show 🎸 She actually suffered a broken wrist and couldn't play for months. Now she's back at it again and rocking So Far Away 🤘
Matt made the same statement at Rockville when I saw them in may me and my friend told each other we loved each other. It was surreal hearing this song live I was thinking about my dad who has been gone six years never forgotten
I know theres no way i feel the way these guys do about the rev, but man this song still makes me teary eyed every time Dude was my idol when i was a kid
Worst day of my life was December 28th 2009. I was 17 at that time and had been an on and off drummer as a child for 6-7 years. In 2004 when I heard bat country for the first time I thought "damn who is this drummer, he's insane", instantly A7X became my favorite band. Turns out I owe my entire career to Jimmy because his playing pushed me to get better and learn basically their entire repertoire. I would spend hours a day in the basement learning every drum track to perfection.. he was my idol, I have a "foREVer" inside my drum tattoo. 2013 I was playing a gig at a festival and an agent came up to me and said they loved how I played and offered me a job to be a backline drummer with some of their artists. Fast forward to today and I've traveled through world and played to literally millions of people and have done what I love for a living for the better part of a decade with no end in sight. If I had never heard bat country that day there's a good chance I would never have dedicated myself to drumming like i did.. I truly owe my entire life's success to the Rev and I wish I could tell him that even though he's never met me
The amount of fucking PASSION the REV put into me back in the day (when I was a kid). Before listening to A7X, music was literally just music to me. I'm not sure what got me to do it, but I would catch myself air-drumming to his beats. I started to study the REV like an IDOL to me as a kid. When he passed that was the first realization that I was actually living life and i should take it for granted. I cant listen to "so far away" without balling my eyes out screaming at the top of my lungs in honor of THE REV.
I was at this show. The show was on my Birthday and my Grandmother on my dad's side had passed away a few weeks before the show. I went with my dad as he had got me tickets for my Birthday. When they played this song, we just shared a moment and hugged each other. Truly an unforgettable moment that we'll cherish FoREVer! 🤘
Dia memang penyanyi rock terbaik sepanjang masa..shadow....vocal ya tiada duanya bahkan di Indonesia pun takan ada orang yang memiliki nada seperti dia....
I don't think there's anything technical about it. It's just idiosyncratic. He's really pushing his body to hit those high notes he's singing. Sometimes you just have to position yourself in a way that feels uniquely right for you individually to hit notes that you struggle with.
He puts his hand right behind his face so he can hear his own voice, its hard to hear yourself when the music and the crowd singing at the same time, its like it helps your sound to bounce back to your ear
Syn’s ability to deliver emotions with his playing is insane , that guitar is literally crying..
What u mean “literally” bro? XD u mean exactly the opposite, that guitar is metaphorically crying. Stop using literally in almost every sentence dude it’s fkn stupid
That's what i've been thinking for awhile
He's been a master of his carft since I started listening to them since "afterlife"in 2006
You can see the pain in Matt’s face. Dude loved the Rev. RIP
You can see the top of my hat directly in front of the camera in this video and that was the first thing I said to the person next to me after it ended. He looked so sad singing it
Everybody loved Jimmy 🥲❤️. I have a tattoo identical to Syn’s ‘Forever’ piece for the rev
Pain trying to match the tone probarbly. @@CodyM725

Man Matt sounds amazing bro.
He was incredible
They were amazing, just saw them in concert last week 🤘

Amazing man. You see hid hand shaking . Everytime I hear this song I cry. He is strong
1:16 his hands 🥺
Love it 💛

She actually suffered a broken wrist and couldn't play for months. Now she's back at it again and rocking So Far Away 🤘
I cry every time I hear this, but even so it's still one of my favorite Avenged Sevenfold songs
Los años pasan y The Rev sigue más presente que nunca. FoREVer
Even in the nosebleeds, I saw the pain on his face and you could just hear the pain in his voice, it broke my heart
Synyster has really mastered his tone. He can really make the guitar sing.
Matt made the same statement at Rockville when I saw them in may me and my friend told each other we loved each other. It was surreal hearing this song live I was thinking about my dad who has been gone six years never forgotten

I was there! Almost made me tear up, amazing job

This gives me chills ngl, i love this band
so hard NOT to try watching all the fire in his eyes
the menacing vocals of M. Shadows, damn I wish I was at this show
I could not sing this night after night for all these years. That has to be heart wrenching.

idk how to watch this without a tear in my eye
anytime i listen to this song, its bring up the memory of the REV and goosebumps pretty much the whole song...
Absolute fucking tears. Just got the chills. This sent me back to reading the post regarding his passing when it happened. Love you all
Can’t imagine the difficulty of having to this without entirely breaking down onstage

Dude I got goosebumps when the mic started shaking 😢
It will be 15 years in 6 days foREVer

Kalau urusan vokal banyak yang lebih baik tapi menurutku dari penulisan lagu melodi dll avenged masuk dalam 10 band terbaik
Still, there’s a lump in my throat every time. The Rev is sorely missed now just as much as he was on 12/28/2009.
Im seeing them live in a week
so excited
when I saw them play this song live almost cried. R.I.P jimmy. He was and is still one of the best drummers to live

FoREVer
As amazing as this is, it’s painful to watch the pain they still feel. We love and miss you rev
❤😢
His ears are so far away!
So sad for M injury, he had an amazing voice and control
can anyone explain why he was touching his side forehead? is that like a proper vocal technique to help him scream better? thank you
It’s like a thing he does to feel himself hitting notes, if he’s hitting the right ones I think
I don't think there's anything technical about it. It's just idiosyncratic. He's really pushing his body to hit those high notes he's singing. Sometimes you just have to position yourself in a way that feels uniquely right for you individually to hit notes that you struggle with.
