The B757 is my favorite airliner. I've flown in it for four international flights plus one more domestic flight. It's got elegance plus a sportster appearance.
Flew the 757 for 5 years and still get a shiver down my spine when I watch it fly!! I've flown many different jet airliners and the 757 is hands down the best. Nice video!!
Great aircraft and great video. Camera angles were very good and there was none of that annoying shake. Well done. I really didn't know the 757 was so graceful. 5 stars.
When they started flying, I heard B757s described as a "Tactical Airliner". They apparently have a healthy (don't know the number) thrust-to-weight ratio.
@erad5 The RNZAF has two of these aircraft and they've been modified for a combi fit - mixed passenger and freight in various configurations including full freight and full passenger. A large cargo door is on the left front side. NZ doesn't have a requirement for midair refuelling. The 757's are used to transport people and freight all over the world in support of exercises and operations, and have recently done two trial flights down to Antarctica - landing on the ice.
@immortalisblog I'll have to agree with you there. When we first got these aircraft and they started doing their handling display, we couldn't believe the noise this thing was poking out, let alone it's performance on the final climbout. Since this vid was taken, the a/c has been modified and the engines uprated to produce even more power, but I haven't seen a handling display since.
The 757 is one of my favorite aircraft, Awrsome vid! I had no idea they could turn on a DIME like that! That pilot must have been feelin' some serious G's (for an airliner)!
This honey of a 57 is handling those maneuvers like a champ! Good girl.

Super!! i love the 757. And the sound is awesome! Impressive manouvering aswell. I don´t think most passengers now what the Boeing they are sitting in, can really do :)
Yeah, I'm guessing it was empty because the 757 has power to spare! However there's another video on youtube of a 757 going near vertical and it was a lot steeper than this one.
Thanks. The problem with filming aircraft doing this sort of stuff is that it normally only occurs during airshows where you've got kids, other peoples' heads and PA systems getting in the way. I was lucky in that I knew when the practice sessions were going to be held so no-one else was around.
Sadly both aircraft were in the USA in zillions of bits at the time. The first one is now back and is certified operational again. Auckland's turn for an Airshow March next year.
I distinctly remember being at Kemble air show with 829 NAS in 2006 and standing next to a red arrows pilot as the RNZAF started their 757 aerobatic display. The precise words he used were “fucking hell”. And that’s from a red arrow.
@Southwestairlines737 Ya reckon ?? I also filmed the "fly by then vertical" but got sick of people commenting that it was fake. Now every man and his dog has a ripped off copy on UA-cam saying it's going vertical - hardly, the climb out angle during these displays is 45 degrees.
No. I'm currently serving so seeing aircraft buzzing around all day isn't a novelty. Ohakea's turn next year. Running Airshows is exhausting work. I guess the 757 put on a good show ?
really wished that the 757 is still under production but sadly it`s already out of production...what a shame though...i like it`s nose, looks abit like the concord...REALLY LOVE 757 SURELY AND ALWAYS WILL!!!
wow! I loved the bit where you've stuck in the 'crank up the volume'. Oh such sheltered lives we lead as domestic passengers - none of this airforce style takeoffs with tight banking turns #8 )
@xterrasesc... I guess it could be called overpowered - but I don't hear any complaints about that from anyone... The two RNZAF 757's have now had their engines uprated to give them even more ergs.
Hard to say. I could open up a can of worms by suggesting too high a speed, but I would hazard a guess that it's somewhere around 200 - 250 knots. This pass was for the low cloud base version of the display so the aircraft didn't need a lot of speed to execute the final climbout.
Negative. The RNZAF purchased 3 727's. The third unit was immediately flown to Woodbourne where it was broken down for spares. It only flew 21 hours in RNZAF service. Of the other two that were put into service, one went to Woodbourne where it's engines and tail were removed and is used as a training aid. The other was re-registered as 3D-KMJ and left NZ in 2004 for Swaziland. Come on guys, Google the info - it's all out there to be found.
A shame they have removed the tail of the 727. Hope they still have it stored so it can be re-attached later. These aircraft were worthy successors to the previous transports, and I'd like to think NZ7272 will be preserved for display. Civil aviation history, espcially when it coimes to gen-one jetliners, despite their qantum leap forward are left poor relation to all other key aircraft represented in preservation. Granted, they are big and expensive, but a key part of aviation heritage.
I feel privileged being around these machines, multi million dollar equipment and they thrash the arse off them every air show for your entertainment. GO KIWI's
I think any 757 can be long range if it is certified for ETOPS - (Extended-range Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards )lots of items need to have specific tolerances eg fire extinguisher leak rates to certify for ETOPS, so I don't think it relates to specific model numbers.
Sorry I couldn't follow the aircraft in the last shot - I tripped over the tripod and tipped the camera over. I managed to recover as it was doing the final wing over.
Not so, my friend. This is a regular 757-200 with standard RB211 engines, complete with vip seats, standard seats and galley. The aircraft config isn't changed for a handling display. It's not aerobatics, it's a handling display - no excessive g's or anything.
It depends on the VLE (maximum speed with gear extended) of the aircraft. I think the VLE of the 757-200 is around 270 kcas and this aircraft isn't going anywhere that fast with the gear down.
yep i agree 100% they are no longer standard civilian 757s, but as far as aerodynamic manuverablity and control its almost if not exactly the same. but i'll just point out one little thing.... the engines are not Trents, but the RB211 was eventually developed into the Trent family. But yes i get what you mean and yes they have uprated thrust.
What can you say about an aircraft that shares the same RB 211 engines as the 767, but weighs nearly 15000kg less. I'd like to have seen Tex Johnson demo one of these. =)
and that pilot, went home, sit on the couch and watch some tv...i mean how insane is that? is there any more in this life than playing around with a 757?
@ejvideos07 nice i kinda figured that...ppl dont appreciate aviation like they used to...and skrew negative comments they are just haters!!! ppl obviously dont know what they talkin about if they think thats fake..you did good man!!!
The B757 is my favorite airliner. I've flown in it for four international flights plus one more domestic flight. It's got elegance plus a sportster appearance.
Perhaps the finest commercial airliner to grace our skies. A true pleasure to fly.
5 stars.
Elegance, beauty & performance comes in 3 numbers... 757
Right there at 2:15, one of the most beautiful sounds!!!
2:12 The best footage of a 757 ever caught
I appreciate the comment, but I'm sure there's a lot better out there that's been filmed with better gear. Thank you anyway.
That last flyby at full thrust was crazy... usually when you hear that sound, run for your life
engines sounds like music to my ears. SO much thrust... so distinctive.
Love the sound of those engines! Makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck every time. Thanks for sharing!
The 757 will always be my favourite. It's a shame they're not making anymore!! :'(
Surprisingly captivating. Really cool to watch such a beautiful bird fly like that.
Yes I think so too. I first flew in one in 1987 and I still think it looks great.
Beautiful aircraft, beautiful engines. That last clip sounds like a squadron of Stukas.
One of the few NG airliners that have a nice sound to hear!!! Nice video, thanks!!
It's engines are ripping the air into shreds!! ARRGH! I love that sound @ 2:14
downright incredible. for such a huge machine, my god!
Great vid,
The sound is incredible, gotta love those Rolls!
Beautiful aircraft, superb lines.
the shot at 2:12 is amazing
Only modern commercial airliner that can do aerobatics
GREAT!!!
757 IS FANTASTIC!!!!! COOL PLANE
THANKS GOD JOB, MORE VIDEOS PLEASE
Best Boeing AC ever. So overpowering love to be in the left seat on that beast.
@immortalisblog

wow, flown like a fighter, and handles like one too

I'm liking the fast spool up time on the Rolls Royces
Well, that's all backstage! At least we got to see more of the plane than just the tail! It's still great :D
Pretty impressive for a plane that size! Nice flying.
Christchurch Airport in New Zealand has a Golf Course at the end of Runway 29. Get some good passes over head when the wind is right
What I like in new zealandese plane spotters? They valorize noise. Great captures!
The 757 has a pretty good safety record....
@DOCSpanky
Yes, 757's are amazing... 747 gets all the hype, but 757 deserves it !
still one of the coolest vidz ever on youtube!!!!!!!
I've taken dozens of flights on 757's. They are quiet and really comfortable planes.
This honey of a 57 is handling those maneuvers like a champ! Good girl.
Super!! i love the 757. And the sound is awesome! Impressive manouvering aswell. I don´t think most passengers now what the Boeing they are sitting in, can really do :)
the spool-up just after 1:54 is just so nice...

coolest pilot ever
The RNZAF are pros when I comes to flying the 757. I'm a US Airways 757 pilot and I would be scared as shit to fly my 757 like that...KUDOS!!!!
@DOCSpanky The 757 has a really really good power to weight ratio
did you go to the airshow there today? it was amazing. Especially the F18 that they got over here from australia.
I distinctly remember being at Kemble air show with 829 NAS in 2006 and standing next to a red arrows pilot as the RNZAF started their 757 aerobatic display. The precise words he used were “fucking hell”. And that’s from a red arrow.

what an engine sound...amazing noise. :)
what a beuiful plane one of my favourites. wouldn't mind flying a 757 or 767 myself haha beutiful engine sounds. nice video!!!
No. I'm currently serving so seeing aircraft buzzing around all day isn't a novelty. Ohakea's turn next year. Running Airshows is exhausting work. I guess the 757 put on a good show ?
Cool cloudy sky video.
lindaaa performance!!! is a bealtiful!!!

Royal New Zealand Air Force, they have two of these. NZ7571 and NZ7572.
@xterrasesc... I guess it could be called overpowered - but I don't hear any complaints about that from anyone... The two RNZAF 757's have now had their engines uprated to give them even more ergs.

Amazing video! This was filmed from a golf course? WOW I'd love to play a round of golf there!
Great video and a great plane
AWESOME VIDEO!!! Thanks for posting it!!!
Sounds so amazing :)
best plane that mr Boeing ever made.Wish i could depart Luton like That !
Negative.

It almost sounds like a prop plane at first in the last segment where you say "Crank up the volume !!"
A shame they have removed the tail of the 727. Hope they still have it stored so it can be re-attached later. 1:55 Phwoarrr! Sounds bloody amazing!
what power.good video.Thanks!
Great work!
Fantastic........simply Fantastic
What a beast.
I feel privileged being around these machines, multi million dollar equipment and they thrash the arse off them every air show for your entertainment. GO KIWI's
thanks for this video bro. just made me realize that our airforce isnt completely shit. still could use some fighters though.
I think any 757 can be long range if it is certified for ETOPS - (Extended-range Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards )lots of items need to have specific tolerances eg fire extinguisher leak rates to certify for ETOPS, so I don't think it relates to specific model numbers.
What an Amazing Video
amazing skils
@portmanpaul2 have you flown one of these aircraft? if so thats amazing!
Concur - powering up at low level is a sound not normally heard.
It's not aerobatics, it's a handling display - no excessive g's or anything.
i'm pretty sure that a light 777-200LR has a similar T/W as a fully loaded f/a-18.
Yup, well noticed. :) Air shows noises are catalyzers for child cry and child cry are catalyzers for bad noise capture.
It depends on the VLE (maximum speed with gear extended) of the aircraft. I think the VLE of the 757-200 is around 270 kcas and this aircraft isn't going anywhere that fast with the gear down.
thanks for the clarifying, that's what i thought it was....but always can't be too careful.
yep i agree 100% they are no longer standard civilian 757s, but as far as aerodynamic manuverablity and control its almost if not exactly the same.
but i'll just point out one little thing.... the engines are not Trents, but the RB211 was eventually developed into the Trent family. But yes i get what you mean and yes they have uprated thrust.
@omotigre2004 Yes indeedy - RB211-535E4/4B to be precise.
What can you say about an aircraft that shares the same RB 211 engines as the 767, but weighs nearly 15000kg less. I'd like to have seen Tex Johnson demo one of these. =)
Thanks for the comments. My camera work wasn't that flash - I kept kicking the tripod - I edited out the worst bits.
Ok witch one used the GE CF6'S ?
757 of the 767 ? It sounds like Rolls !
Very nice vid!!
Fantastic!!
These air force 752's have had upgraded thrust, so i bet theyll be packing out at about close to 45,000-50,000Ibs thrust.
Thank you !
and that pilot, went home, sit on the couch and watch some tv...i mean how insane is that? is there any more in this life than playing around with a 757?
@ejvideos07 nice i kinda figured that...ppl dont appreciate aviation like they used to...and skrew negative comments they are just haters!!! ppl obviously dont know what they talkin about if they think thats fake..you did good man!!!
@aboveyourhead
Hard to say. Anywhere between 250-350 kias.
Very nice video! :D
@DOCSpanky Yes. Yes there is.
